On spot ! pistol is just an overperforming complex for nothing scepter , all classes had something they were lacking , nécro mobile weapon , engi support weapon (even if mace and shield are good , but bow still is werid) , and all the others the same , we could have a good support mainhand , but anet would have ruined it anyway , cause ele need to be versatile at any cost for them , if i want to play damage i want to play it in all attunements , here again teh pistol is weirdly used in air just for a lower cooldown on next skill and nothing else ... 0.2% of ppl will play this build and there you go. And on the other hand you have warhorn who is good in anything , dope support weapon and big damage dealer as condi ... quick anet nerf it ... i really miss the base staff meteor fireball mage , we have it ofc , but the fireball is a hot nugget and the meteor are actually sprinkles you throw at your enemy. Ele balanced around having always 20 weapons skills (more for weaver) but when you end up using half of them is this balance making sense ?

To my own taste when i play the lowest armor and hp class i expect to be better to my role .... but this situation is non existent , not a single ele spec is shining in pve , thus showing the stats little % played , every other class (except maybe thief) has somewhat an e-spec present in the meta , so instead of nerfing based on a stupid non moving golem and capping the bench at 43-44k (nobody is allowed to go higher), anet should ask and wonder why nobody plays ele in endgame pve , there should be at elast one e-spec of each class represented there , The ele situation has always been the same , new build comes out , somebody on snowcrow bench 48k , hop nerf to everyone , and here they nerf in a lazy way the whole tempest instead of nerfing the stupid pistol nobody is playing, great balance philosphy ... for vets who have cleaned the whole content , dps rush is the only thing we can do as dps role , so in term of pure efficiency taking an ele in many case is a tune down to take , others do better more safely and it's been 5 years am wondering wth are they doing with the ele... and i say it while i know many players who leaved the game solely because of the ele situation , many players fancy the pure staff mage ranged dps , who is non existent here , the fact that ele , who is mostly supposed to be ranged is a melee class is ...weird , and pistol resolve nothing , as tempest your tiny 180 overloads needs you to melee anyway. I am joking on it , but i am pretty sure if snowcrow somewhat fakes dps bench anet is gonna follow blindly.

And now that pistol is "overperforming" on the golem all tempest are given the finger as dps , you don't play pistol , but you still got the -5% condi damage , ahhhh so happy i converted my ele to a full time fisherman. A useless awfully designed weapon , who ended up nerfing a whole spec , rather have ele have no weapon at all then ... still least played class in endgame , and this for sure is not gonna change it , who cares ? surely not anet ! eager to see ele hit the 0.1 % playrate.

We are talking about the only real vertical progression of the game , this whole thing can give you up to +90 in one stat , si it's not a big deal , food give you way more , and this is a reason ppl play fractals cause having all the +5 stats and +9 agony res. is the only kind of power progression on the long term you have in the game. If you don't care about fractals they are the wvw and raid variant who cost way less but don't give you AR or just 5 pts , i know the raid ones cost 15 g each so it's about 270 gold plus raid currency who is largely affordable if you do regular raids , same for wvw.

If anet is afraid to remove the energy allowing thus to spam immediately the 4 sphere in 2 secs , then pretty simple solution give an internal cd to all off cd sphere of 3-4 secs on any sphere usage , and if the sphere is about to be recharged just reajjust the cd to this number , 3 sec seems a good take , normally you don't stay more than 4 secs in each attunement as cata. But this energy mechanic needs to go away , even without that qcata will still be complicated enough and stay a class only the well trained would be able to master , removing this would simply open this class way more to beginners or people who want to try it , like me , but seeing how i am doing with herald , then compare the numbers with qcata , no way i am gonna switch atm , i won' change my bmw car for and old rusty bike.

Yeah keep the 5 secondes of non energy upkeep once you launch a sphere in you mind , while cycling trough the rotation don't forget combos to give yourself +x% stats who also improve a bit your concentration , manage your multi hit skills really well to do them while you are allowed to generate energy , don't forget to sometimes look at your screen while doing that (even as celestial you can get nuked down) and... i am lost , ... You know what , i'll stick to herald , 0 bd needed , 100% zerk and 100% crit. chance without any stat changes , super tanky even in full zerk. Why do we have to play celestial in open world as ele ? any other stats (except maybe trailbrazer) seems wrong on ele , the answer to anything in open world as ele is celestial , get wrecked as ele ? go celestial... wouldn't be a problem if we had good range power option... (don't even mention pistol plz...) meanwhile you have ppl going full zerk as necro or revenant , this 11600 hp class need a good +4000 hp for free in pve. Since day one catalyst i was wondering why is there energy , feels like a useless placeholder to prove they have worked on the class , i know when the sphere had a 5 sec cd it was understandable , with the nerf to 15 they should have removed energy ? naaaahhhh. And with no energy they can rework traits like Energized Elements into : "your sphere are now launched on your position and follow you for their duration". Not like we miss some fury while playing qcata ... and the two energy coming from every attunement switch should have been baseline. Why make things simple when you can make it complicated , energy on the catalyst is like a pickle on a wedding cake , it's useless , it taste bad , everyone is wondering what the hell is it doing there and who is the troll who put it there and it probably ruined 25% of the cake.

I am personnaly fine with bladesworn giving alacrity , problem with bladesworn as alac brings two things , burst and alacrity , that's all , cannot count the 3 sec stability who randomly appears and the 3 might upkeep , also the lack of cc ... your only worth cc is an ammo who need 45 sec to recharge to his full potential 200 dmg breakbar .... and the imo from axe , that's even worse cc than the whole ele class has , if bladesworn stays like this , i would certainly prefer going spellbreaker , would give me a reason to play this class over bladesworn or zerk. is it my only feeling ? but does the alacrity support dps has way less efficient options than quickness dps or is it alacrity healers are far more efficient than quickness healers ? Anyway i don't see why anet couldn't give two option of alacrity for warriors in pve , they are certainly wasted traits who aren't used in this gamemode who could provide a fun option for spellbreaker as alac provider.

If you really want to balance runes , you should get rid of them all and let ppl choose each tier of bonuses , so ppl would really theoricraft to have exactly the 100% condi duration , boon duration and crit. chance, non leg runes would be able to choose the bonus once you loot them or receive a piece of armor with 1 in it and legs still able to change it . Would result in a certain powercreep as power builds who have big crit. chance like guardian and revenant would focus on ferocity and maybe a bit of power, while some would go full condi damage with a tiny bit of condi duration , but that's kind of already the case with dragon hunter runes and runes of the trapper. How it works would be easy , like +25 , +35 ,+ 50 ,+65 ,+100 ,+ 125 and adding bonuses like condi duration 3% , 5% etc ... + spécial bonuses on the 3rd effect and 6th effect still available I don't know would it really result in a big power creep ? I like the idea but i am mixed about the result. Runes are kind of scuffed right now. At least it would clean all the mess with all the names who aren't very defining of the rune anymore , like rune of the trapper ? where are the traps ?

Best way for you is to look into a guild ingame who accept beginners , mine is french and a lot of them don't speak english (or don't want 😁) , so i cannot recommend mine as we are also all on a little break from gw 2 but if you speak french you'll be welcome. We do all eod (except htcm) mostly thursday , and Dagda cm too. Only think we ask is to new ones to look at a vidéo explaining the fight so com doesnt have to explain the whole thing agaian and again.
  10. Too much health 😁 ... say that to poor Skorvald who can't even finish his speech before phasing and isn't allowed to enter super sayan mode before getting completely demolished. The "new" fractal bosses are made to follow the power creep , and even Ai from 99 get phased a lot before doing a lot of mechanics , the only one sturdy enough to have his whole dialog used is kannaxai. But i find these dialogs overlap quite funny , dessa having two voices at once, Skorvald doing the bad boy like a dbz character and 2 sec after having a headache , especially when you do t1 recs , it's like the game scenario can't keep up with your group , and that's quite fun. If you diminish health of those bosses some people will just zoom in fractals like a formula 1 and get it done in few minutes. But yes Kannaxai seems to have a lot of health in lower tier fractals , maybe because he has a lot of mechanics , and for him to show them off , he needs a lot of time , also this combat greatly favors ranged dps and long range boon application , you are split almost 33% of the time.

Agree, 90% of all méta builds use those for condi damage , i think they should rework some others to be on pair with it , like nightmare could have +5% condi duration instead of the silly +10% fear duration as ericpeggy said , so you loose some condi damage but win +10% condi duration , would be better on some builds. On the other hand specific condition duration runes will be hard to balance , cause all condi builds rely on at least two type of condi damage (except soulbeast and druid, but those builds are rather forgotten) , so the only way to improve those is to add +x% damage to a specific condition , but that will result in power creep who anet try to avoid ... or not seeing how axe deadeye is doing ....
  12. You use it before the fight start or just 1 sec after it starts ? i know aether hideout is strange when it starts it's kind of an animation then start but you are already in combat for 1 sec , if that happens just wait 1-2 sec after skill bar is locked.

Another weapon with some hybridish feeling , air auto damage is a joke (think it's the lowest damage i have ever see with hammer 3 skills) , and we have healing in water ofc , only for yourself ofc , so no potential support weapon ... , and do you think anet would make combo make sense like skill 2 enhance skill 3 in term of damage and skill 3 enhance skill 2 in term of survivability ... nahhhh sometimes it's 2 for 3 for damage , then it's 3 for 2 for damage ... yep make sense ... i forgot ele isn't allowed to have some Qol, yeah yeah i know scepter/warhorn still perform ok , but why take a class with less hp and less armor doing the same damage as something having 22k health ? fun ? yep . Efficiency ? biased. Can we have a full focused weapon on a particular role , efficient in every attunement ? And best part , it's doing 46 k on golem , so be ready for the nerf , i foreshadow it ! complicated rotation that will do as any duh rotation build in 1 month ! i don't even want to train it , cause i know it's gonna get nerfed , same as deadeye condi axe speeny.

Well tell me what is mandatory to take as firebrand then ? you have basically 3 free skill , 2 utility and the ult ? if there is only a single stab needed f3-5 is enough , need more ranged heal ? bow is good for it , need max stab overload ? take stand your ground + ammo ult or the area that pulse stab , condi remove .... etc etc , so there is room to take it , you just need to see what your team needs or know your group xp. i took this skill on Ko cm and i have lost the count on how many players i have saved cause they took the sniper aiming ricochet shot because of wrong placement, if you have to look at all long range rez skills this one is the best cause of it's 50 sec cd.

Fractals says hello , there are some encounters where there is heavy cc like nightmare cm amam where the 5 stacks is very usefull and various other fracals where it comes handy , even so the shorter cd and longer uptime (it's 6 vs 5 sec so 12 vs 10 with boon duration) cd vs the longer cd and shorter uptime doesnt make any sense to me , same goes for some skills like lightning flash who is just a 900 port with same cd as some skills who include a breakstun , condi removal and 1200 range and have the same purpose usage for. Signet of Mercy this signet is on the shortest cooldown for an immediate rez and beat every other single rez ability in the game in term of cd (and has +120 concentration on it , so even if you don'use it it is not a waste as you can use more magi stuff for précision given might on crit. and healing output, on the other hand ele, hscg ... have no passiv usage for their long range rez ability (don't tell me you need the 4% vital force from sig of the undead as a hscg) A bunch of guardian downed stacked can revive almost instantly the whole team after 4 sec just by pressing 3 , and even if the Fb has no strong healing from afar , the staff skill 2 combiend with 3 has decent cd and healing for a 1200 range combo skill , and staff 4 still heals like nuts on a 600 aoe around you. Reminder the herald has a tablet who can go 1200 range and can heal output 6000 hp every 2 sec , it's not rezzing ppl but can secure a far away rez with anti projectiles, stab and healing output. , so those two aren't even as bad as you seems to think in this peculiar situation , and not counting scepter who alows u to port to a fara way target ally and give decent barrier on a 900 range with short cd So those two are far from bad at the long range healing situation. That's true for most of them (except htemp) , the base kit seems to be good for any healer , but if you play an alacrity healer without a herald your choice would be really hindered or you would have to adapt your skills to your supp dsp (example i play hscg and have a quick harbringer , well i pretty much know switftness is gonna lack in my sub) as the herald is the 5 stars offensiv support duo for any alac heal , same goes for quickness healer and alacrity dpses , the choice seems very narrow compared to the other type of duo. in term of alacrity dpses you have not the same variety of choice as quick dps. In term of power alacrity builds , we have willbender , chrono and "no méta" power bladesworn , and those 3 are very lackluster compared of their quickness dps counterpart. Condi alacrity seems to have enough variety tough.

Game is far from perfect ofc , it is far away from the old time consuming mmo , due to for most ppl not having any kind of vertical progression , so it's normal for some ppl to feel a bit underwhelmed at some point if you play gw 2 like 4-6 hours a day (more the w-e) you gonna quickly do the all around visite of the game , it's neither bad or good , depends on how ppl take the game for. But you can give the game a break without being overwhelmed or feeling like you missed a big chunk by not connecting 3-4 days in a row , i mean even the seasons give you 3 months to connect to add them for free. And trust me i am far from being a white knight defending anet ... what makes me stay on the game is the combat mechanic who is way more faster than 90% of the good mmos out there, but i do take a break from it.

Guys if you feel bored of the game , which is normal when you spend hours and hours on the same game , just switch a bit of game , gw 2 is very friendly when it comes to some breaks , even if you are away 6 months. Just play few hours of gw 2 , then go on another game , reinstall an old game to find nostalgia (trust me nostalgia is one hell of an emotion) , try a new one, i recently did dark souls 2 with all the dlc's as an example, tryed last epoch , helldivers 2, and i am near to reinstall mass effect trilogy , don't be afraid to leave this mmo a bit , you are not paying a subscription so nothing in your brain should retain to take short breaks or long one if you wish. I mean gw 2 has no vertical progression so at some point you are done improving your character and could feel bored and it's pretty normal , abusing something is never good (just like food) And as everything when you come back from a +- long break , it's "home sweet home".
  18. Yeah involved in pvp , not the slightest in pve i assure you htemp is the less played meta healer atm and fall really short to any other healers the game provide. Not like they had suddenly a pet master who completely change all pets of the game. I agree that balance is far better than few years ago , there is some diversity , but still some pre dominant classes who have unfair advantage , like why does herald have a 600 boon range and all the others 360-240-180 ? why does Fb and herald have the stability monopole (warrior seems to be pretty decent in it too now) , there are skill who don't give any sense to me, you have on one hand "stand your ground" who is 5 stab stacks for 6 sec on a 2624 (even better !) cd , and for example ele with "eye of the storm" with 1 stab stack 5 sec on a 30 sec cd .... it's obvious a player who want to be efficient and see his group need stab will take firebrand instead of ele (not arguing here about quickness-alacrity provider), and don't tell me the 5 sec of superspeed + breakstun are better ... But some changes are good , some questionable , some completely have no sense at all , it depends on every one vision of the game , but there is one thing that doesn't lie , and it's data ! and data proof players don't like some classes and don't want to bring it in some content, and as pve is the main focus of the game (sorry but wvw and pvp are not even near the pve whole success) they should find a way to have at least one e-spec of each classes having a big % of playerbase enjoyement and efficiency. Anyway ele pistol is benching 46k on the golem , so either ppl like it or not (most don't like it) it's gonna be nerfed so don't bother training on that it's gonna bench not more than 43k next patches , same for axe condi thief benching 54k (that's a bit high , but seeing how the rotation is complex , it should be higher than most dps build) -less complicated builds = less efficient -more complicated builds = more efficient Or else nobody is gonna play the complicated one if they perform the same as a build who require the apm of a dead oyster.
  19. just tested on a 5sec -500 breakbar damage golem and the skill only seems to take off +- 3/4 of the bar instead of a little bit more than 50% , so think the tooltip is just not updated to the +50% daze duration but still benefit from it.
  20. can say it's the same for other skills like storm spirit shacking or call of the wild from warhorn , so pretty sure it's just the tooltip , require further testing , should be easy to spot as the skill is 2.5 daze and should then go 3.75
  21. i am talking about pve specifically : the way every conjure weapon is used is like that : -drop it -use 1-2 skill usefull for your purpose -drop it i mean basically for example you use fiery gs for skill 4 and 5 then you drop it , isn't that wasted for a 180 sec cd skill ? ele is about maximizing use of all skills from each attunement , so we don't need another pair of 5 skill with hidden cooldowns , and that second weapon drop on the floor is so freaking janky , with pugs you don't have the slightest idea if this weapon is gonna stay to add it to your rotation or being picked up ... for me the most horrendous design of skill in the game are by far the conjure weapons , a lot of ppl hate using them , make ele even more complicated than it already is. and hammer has maybe 2 usefull skills , , the cc who is weak anyway (basically on a 45 sec cd : the cd of the weapon , you not gonna stay 15 sec in hammer just to wait to this skill to recharge ....) , and the 4 who is a wish version of storm from glyph. those weapons need specific roles , not mixed skills who make them meh-useless in any situation , weapons for deeps , weapon for defense , for cc , mobility ... so you are emphasize to use all skill of the weapon when you drop it , not just 1-2 skill .... A nice idea a saw on reddit is summoning the weapon change your 3 utility slots (not the heal and the ult , would be op) in very specific role from each weapon , so it doesnt take the room of already really numerous weapon skills, nice idea cause utilitys from ele are on a fairly long cd so you could sue it when the cd is looping.
  22. Depends hardly on which gamemode you talk , i see no one complaining about virtuoso nor herald in pve , but it is not the first time stealth attack coupled with malice functionality from deadeye is bugged like this , so thought they would have anticipated .....

You need the armor you mentionned (oneiros etc ) to end the collection for astral ward pieces allowing you to buy the arcanum of the correspondant armor piece (the shiny yellow print of an armor piece who only cost 1 Lesser Vision Crystal from Lyrh) , once it's done i think you can throw all the exotics needed for astral ward collection Astral Bearing, Astral Footprints, Astral Grasp, Astral Heartbeat, Astral Stride and Astral Thought , but i am not 100% sure i just keep those till the enhanced effect of the obsidian armor have shown off to see if i need those. So you just need to buy those 3 armors once just to allow you to buy the arcanum atm , no need to recraft them for each set of legendary armor.
