So with the many, many threads about AFK farming I guess nothing will happen unless a prominent streamer brings it up like the PvP win trading and account sharing thing recently. Whatever, I'm certain that some of the farmers are breaking the rules from what I have seen on some maps. But I find it odd that with this MMO it is so frequently defended as," You don't know if they are really AFK even though they are there 24 hours a day 7 days a week." Last I have to say about it because it is bad Karma 😄 Good luck.

Updates posted on Twitter but nothing here not even in the WvW forum. So I can understand the complaints. When a company has an official forum IMO official things should also be communicated there.

One way to tell new players is the mastery points displayed by their name. If they have none then they are probably a new player. This does not rule out experienced free to play players and core only players that can't earn mastery points. But those are probably few and far between. And of course there may be some experienced players on alt accounts with no mastery points for login rewards etc.. But I don't think putting a tag saying, "Hey I'm a newbie," is something a lot of new players would want. My suggestion is if you want to help new players go to the starter maps and ask in map chat if anyone wants some help or advice.

I've seen so many complaints about not knowing about buying the story chapters over the years. IMO Anet needs to make it more clear at the point of sale. They should also offer a bundle at the point of sale that includes all the story chapters. Right now the only add on I see from the GW2 sales page during the buying process is Living World Season 2 Complete Pack for $16. IMO they should offer an "All past episodes" add on with a discount based on the level purchased. Buy base normal price, buy deluxe a % off, ultimate even more off. But mostly they need to make it more clear at the point of sale that past Living World episodes are not included and will cost extra for new players. I have no problem with Anet charging for it. They just need to be more open about it and make it more clear for new customers. If GW2 actually ever goes to Steam, like they planned, they are going to get a lot of negative feedback unless they are more clear on what more needs to be purchased.

Players that have been suspended will have to submit a support ticket. If for some reason they cannot login to submit a ticket they can choose the "Submit a ticket anonymously" option and include their account information in the ticket. Posts here asking for others to have the suspension lifted don't accomplish anything as support will only deal with the account holder. That said, it seems like GeFroce Now players get caught up in this from time to time. Perhaps Anet should examine that a little more closely since Anet offers players the ability to use that service. It worked for a few days after the switch but was disabled for some reason. There has been no response from Anet as to why the ability to post images was disabled.

Well the top AP player that was accused in that video seems to have been removed from the leaderboards/banned. So as far a list of names we know I guess one person. I can only imagine all the thousands of hours it took to be at the top of the AP boards. Now it was all wasted time for them. Seems odd someone with that level of achievement would risk it all for a title and novelty. But I guess they got what they deserved.

Yes the only way to craft an Eternity you can sell now is to use unbound Sunrise and Twilight.

You can buy it from the GW2 web store (NOT the in game store). You will be emailed a key. You can then give the unused key to the gift recipient. Also PoF always includes Heart of Thorns now. So even if you buy PoF from one of the authorized retailers HoT will still be included.

According to the wiki it was just on sale August 21st. So it will probably be a while before it shows back up again, maybe again this year during Wintersday. It looks like last year was the first time it didn't appear during Wintersday since it was introduced. The wiki also shows it is available for 5 Black Lion Miniature Claim Tickets. So if you have those or can buy them with Black Lion Statuette's that's another option.

Well perhaps that explains it. Perhaps your were given paid forum privileges that appear were not revoked when you refunded.

Like I said then it is either a bug that is allowing you to post here from a free to play account or another possibility is you are posting from an account other than your free to play account. I just logged in to the forum with a free account I set up some time ago and there is a banner at the top that tells me I can't post.

That's my opinion. Any mats that I don't get from my normal game play and salvaging I prefer to buy instead of trying to farm. Of course some are easier to farm than others like wood and ore nodes scattered around every map. I generally will hit those when they are in my area of play. Other things like blood and fangs are a bit harder because they are more tied to RNG. Lastly, and this is the last time I'll bring it up, free accounts do not have privileges to post on the forum. So either there is a bug that allows you to post somehow or you have at least the paid base core game. If you have at least 5 character slots you have a paid version of the game. If you can post here you don't have a free to play account. Free to play accounts can not post on the forum. So you should have full access to the TP as it appears you have some paid version of the game due to your ability to post here. So really the TP is the fastest and easiest way to get the mats you want. I've found trying to farm some mats directly tiring and boring. IMO it is much more fun for me to play the parts of the game I enjoy and use the gold earned to buy the mats I might need from the TP. Of course some mats just start to pile up after time due to salvaging gear obtained from drops.

I'm glad that fishing was created for the people that wanted it and will enjoy it. It doesn't really appeal to me so I'll probably only do it when it is required for story or whatever. I have a feeling that there may be many cases where fishing will be, I guess I'll say highly suggested instead of "forced", given Anet has made this a prominent feature of EoD. I just hope those cases are not too over the top for people that don't care for it.

These codes are basically just coupons for half off the current price. So yes they are valid at the time of purchase but if someone uses the individual code it is not available to others. Once purchased the expansions are applied to the account forever. You can never buy expansions with gems only real world money. Lastly you probably should not mention account sharing as that is against the ToS.

I think they reserved that title for the gen 3 legendary weapons. 😆

You can also buy the expansion through the in game store (with real world money not gems). That is how I bought HoT and PoF. This might work to solve your issue if you don't want to fiddle with your browser privacy settings. Another advantage of this is that the expansion automatically gets added to your account (you may have to log out and back in for it to register). So you don't have to enter the code in your account page. The code will still be emailed to you to keep for your records.

They don't give them as soon as you complete a map. You have to buy them from a vendor after you complete a map for the Gift of the Desert.

It would not surprise me if some of the bots people are seeing in PVP are there via Anet. To be clear I am not saying they are. But I have seen other games use bots to lower queue times in competitive modes.

As person that never selected an avatar since that was a thing, the silhouette is kind of growing on me compared to the normal view. It stands out as "no avatar". 🙂
