  1. Hey @AikijinX.6258 Want an invite to the Teef forum guild? We could always use more thief mains :D
  2. You lose some condi duration but I’d suggest Carrion weapons/armor, Thief Runes and Grieving trinkets. More HP, and solid condi/power damage.
  3. I enjoyed fighting your build the other day Shao :) Nice video!
  4. Here is some gameplay for my hybrid build (with the build at the start).@"DemonSeed.3528" ( )
  5. I mean we can argue semantics. I’d argue that warrior’s reckless dodge “comes with the dodge” even if it is a separate attack. The AoE daggers from Lotus are probably triggering Weakening Strikes. I’d need to test it to be sure. Again, I think this is a lot a hot air over nothing.
  6. @praqtos.9035 said: HmmDouble "Hmm" That is exactly why I told you that you need to study the issue properly before attacking it, so since I am tired of your passive aggresigity let me hand it to you: "LT DOES NOT APPLY POISON THEREFORE IT DOES NOT APPLY WEAKNESS THEREFORE 3 CONDIS NOT 4".And before you even attempt it; spare me of your excuses, you mentioned exactly and specifically LT, no steal, no spider venom, no nothing, your post was not mentioning any other circumstancional effects.Thats you attacking me with your cluelessness, not me. Its simple fact that on one evade you apply 4 condis overall, drd dont have to trait for it, its alrdy there set in stone as minor trait. I dont care how mad you are there or how hard you try to "correct" me :) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Impaling_Lotus Read.Show me where is the Poison in that "simple evade" that triggers the Weakness trait. He’s counting the three from Lotus (bleed, torment and cripple, and weakness from the minor master Weakening Strikes (which gives you three seconds of weakness on next attack after dodge (which is probably triggering on the Lotus daggers). It’s still not an issue though. I’m running a build with minimal condi clear and it isn’t an issue as long as I have my cleanse available.
  7. Given the number of games and fights I’ve won versus condi Daredevil I have to question whether we are playing the same game.
  8. @babazhook.6805 Exactly. DA-SA-DE is better than using CS mainly because the poison application is now more versatile. It’s tough though because you lose easy Fury for 20% less crit rate. Definitely a trade off.
  9. @Jugglemonkey.8741 Glad you are enjoying it :) You can be less glassy (around 16k HP) with Carrion armor/weapons and Grieving trinkets. Edit: I’ve been working to get some gameplay recorded but Shadowplay isn’t recording any audio for some strange reason. I’ll probably have to reinstall the GeForce software or just go with the clips without sound.
  10. Lotus is Bleed, Torment and Cripple. It can be in a combo field to apply poison. It can also gain poison and weakness through Deadly Arts traits. I’ve fought this build numerous times and 90% of the time I have no issues surviving the burst even if they land most of it. If I don’t have cleanse then I die but that’s not really a good balance perspective.
  11. Except Lotus dodge isn’t the majority of condi DD damage. It’s when that is combined with a poison combo field and stacked with swipe and other utilities or traits that the attack adds up to anything significant.
  12. I’ve fought a lot of trend followers on condi thief and it’s like...not op. The variants can be more or less difficult to fight because of weapon mechanics but just because a weapon has evade or a teleport doesn’t make it OP. Further, Deadly Ambition is 3 stacks (with Potent) of poison lasting 3.5 seconds on a cooldown of 5 seconds. This means it usually isn’t going to exceed 400 damage per second with someone constantly hitting the target. Asking for this to be nerfed is hilarious as though it will actually cut the damage enough to matter. All this is is a rehash of “I hate condi” and “I hate thief.”
  13. I’d be curious to see your condi Thief @Trevor Boyer.6524 I also disagree that Deadly Ambition is over performing on a 5 second cooldown. With Potent Poison, Deadly Ambition is an extra 400 damage per second assuming you maintain it by continuing to hit the opponent. That’s three stacks of poison. It’s not that much unless, entirely reasonably, paired with multiple other successfully executed abilities. If you stand in multiple poison gas fields and eat multiple Lotus dodges and eat Swipe well I guess you will lose a lot of health. Not OP. IMO.
  14. @Trevor Boyer.6524 You may be correct about Repeater being best for a low cost pressure tool but only because of the sheer number of bullets. The damage is pretty low, given the bleed with quickly be cleansed off the evades. I’d worry about being able to do enough damage especially if they take even one healing type trait.
  15. These kind of guilds just need players who are experienced with a profession willing to stay in a guild to help other players and theory craft with. Most people don’t have that many active guilds that an extra spot can’t be occupied by a “mentor” guild and maybe a “mentee” guild. Raids/Fractals/PvEPvPWvWMentor (profession I’m good at)Mentee (profession I’m learning) I do think we need more guild slots (maybe 7 total).

    Just stop..

D/P has a lot of utility through a on demand interrupt and smoke field. That alone made it a good option even without considering it has great damage. Now that it has less damage on autoattack I’m surprised there weren’t more calls to buff Heartseeker as a clear way to boost damage on Dagger/X. And I still see (as of a day ago) core thief players doing really good spike damage with Dagger. So it’s not weak so much as now it has competitors for damage/utility overall.
  17. Lol I was wondering what those things were. Only saw them in arena and not in games though. (Makes sense because if you spawn one you give your opponent an easy rally).
  18. @Swagger.1459 I agree with you that removing cleanse as far as damaging conditions and changing to toughness to mitigate damage would help simplify the condition system. However, (1) this will be too much effort to implement and (2) people will still complain because they don’t understand condi as a damage type and won’t be helped by death breakdowns that only show the condition type and not the abilities they were hit with.
  19. Lol, and Holo is heavily based around quickness access meaning you can expect someone who isn’t afk to hit you super hard and super fast.
  20. The only thing that needs to be “nerfed” is the jump exploit on staff. No one thinks that is intended or fair to fight. Other than that, both D/D and S/D have plenty of counterplay and vulnerability frames. Staff would also normally have vulnerability frames as well.
  21. Losing a node for a little time to secure a kill just means you have more time later to hold your nodes and generate points. Generally, holding nodes is important but if you don’t focus on winning team fights your team will lose.
  22. The only thing that needs a nerf is poison application. From what trait or skill?
  23. I think they have balanced against "not fun to fight" before. I don't think they've ever balanced specifically to raise the skill floor, though (nor should they). I’ll review some patch notes but I suspect most “not fun to fight” builds were actually nerfed for other more performance based reasons.
  24. I’d like to point out that “nerfing x would make y and z better than x, so we shouldn’t nerf x” is a logical fallacy. Other things need balancing too. Doesn’t mean people can’t suggest changes to singular professions/traits they believe are performing in an unbalanced way.
