(i know breakbars and healers exist btw, but generally speaking dps is where its at in pve) I would argue you're merging PvE and Raids together too much there.I agree with you on the DPS raids thing, in fact that's one reason why I don't raid and why I don't like the raid community's absolutist attitude towards raiding.You have to play this way, you have to use this build etc.. Nah, I don't and it's not essential to succeed either.I want to have fun in raids but most people just want to win as fast as possible.. so I and many, many others just don't bother playing there. They can have their game mode and make their demands that everyone cater to their way of playing it and deal with the consequences of a low population because of all the players they've excluded from it.It's not my problem if that happens and if raids die off which from what I see and read is apparently happening then that's ultimately their fault, nobody elses. It does, but Evis is a leap/finisher and it can trigger other traits so it's not entirely useless.Axe Auto is melee as well so it has short range, if an enemy gets away from you or you swap to a target that is out of your auto's Range Evis can be used to close that gap quicker than running and without needing to weapon swap or use a utility to do the same thing. I do use Greatsword on some builds as I mentioned in other posts.I said it was one of the weaker F1's in terms of damage which is true in single 1v1 combat against both players and NPC'sI also said it was far better against groups since it can hit multiple targets which again is technically true. But you're not wrong, I make my own builds rather than follow the Meta's like many people do. My first comment regarding the raids will probably show that I don't like being told there is only X number of ways to play this game and be successful..I find that kind of mindset to be very narrow minded and untrue.There's more to this game than getting the biggest numbers when you hit stuff, i've always believed that and I think i've made enough decent PvE builds over the years to prove it to myself. I don't use Sword outside of PvE so I have no comment on that.But I have seen competitive builds that use it in combination with OHDagger and D4, S3 can be a pretty nasty quick damage combo. Seems you're arguing almost entirely from a PvP/WvW standpoint which is fine and makes your points better to understand.Though my posts have been coming from a PvE stance more than anything. Things work differently in PvP and of course players are far smarter than NPC's.. i'm very much pro skill splitting between PvE and competitive modes to make up for these differences and I agree that a lot of skills across a lot of classes vary in use drastically between these modes.Personally i'd rather have all skills be useful in all modes and balanced accordingly for those different modes.Even if that means they function quite differently in each game mode, this would not bother me at all. I don't care for or like the idea that X weapon is a PvP weapon and Y weapon is a PvE one.. They should all be viable everywhere in Gw2, same goes for utilities and traits too.I know that you are arguing from a pve standpoint, that was my whole first post, that you as a pve player were trying to sell those weapons to pvp/wvw players. And raids are in fact pve, if you like it or not.And those builds are supposed to be min/maxed to have the smoothest experience (i dont raid at all, been in one after the bosses were cleared once) And actually gs is one of the best 1v1 weapons for warrior, maybe not solely based on numbers, but like i said, in pvp/wvw you cant just look at the numbers, you have to look at how well they connect to you opponent, and gs3 +f1 are one of the shortest casttimes for warrior, with some of the biggest bursts, ive hit whirlwinds far bigger than the average eviscerates on single targets.Also, gapclosers are a thing that exist on gs. If my opponents wouldnt try to avoid me and ate all my damage id play axe axe ofc, those numbers on paper are much higher than gs, but not rly applicable to actual wvw/pvp gameplay. I know that sword/dagger build, but i dont like offhand dagger

The fact alone that you didnt think that f1 greatsword was one of the best burst skills (which every pvp/wvw player with experience would tell you) shows that you are looking for different things for your pve warrior than i do for the other modes. Sword f1 dmg in outside of pve is utterly unsatisfying, the only good thing is the immob (which doesnt even hit alot of the times), after immobalizing it gets cancelled by the player to do something else, because youbare an easy target while slashing that sword for half an hour for mediocre dmg. Evis in pvp is just a sad thing to see, so easy to dodge/blind/block without a good payoff. Mace deals no dmg, the burst is hard to land and many stunbreaks are still a thing. Sword only deals good dmg with final thrust, but good luck getting your opponent under 50% when they are constantly trying to avoid your dmg and heal alot more than pve mobs. Hammer is still fun in wvw zerging, because out of 5 ppl atleast someone wont see you coming, in 1v1 hammer is way too slow to hit a good opponent and the dmg is just sad. Rifle is way too telegraphed (pve mobs dont care about stuff like that, they just eat it most of the time, if you know their pattern) Dagger burst is good. Longbow is for condi, and actually works cleansing ire without hitting a target. In pvp and wvw its also relevant how quick your attacks come out to not give your opponent time to react, which in pve isnt that much of a problem. You also seem to forget that pve uses other coefficients than the other 2 modes.Critting for 20dmg with a level 3 burst is the saddest thing.
  3. Ive seen how quick your average pve build drops dead, just saying.Dont need 30k dps to kill someone with ~15k hp.

Oh I'm still waiting on warrior ranger thief rev ele all to get nerfs to their dodges and the extra kitten they get for them, which obviously won't happen. But they certainly shouldn't implement any more bonuses for dodging while they have mirage hard nerfed for that very reason. :)Because obviously you can compare their boni to the effect mirages dodge had lel. On topic, that rune is way too overpowered. Id run that on a roaming warrior and every other class who has low cd heals.

'My logic' was regarding the trait Blood Bank not about barrier as a mechanic. This trait has been discussed plenty so I'm not gonna rehash all that. If a Necro has full health they either aren't being attacked or are being sustained by a pocket healer, both of which make the barrier useless vs. having access while being pressured. My logic is very simple. If you like the idea of starting a fight with popping your heal skill, then that's great. I, however, think THAT would be terrible logic.Well, barrier is there to increase your chances of surviving a big burst, which would otherwise oneshot/one combo you. That heal is better in preventing the dmg to your hp pool than actually healing yourself

  10. This really is key. With the reduced sustain due to less stunbreaks, and shorter boons, while condis were not hit in a similar way, ranged damage wasn't hit in a similar way, and CC was hit - but not with the outcome expected - changes like this are necessary.The only alternative is to add a lot more tankyness to melee, especially in cases where damage isn't the main focus. And dev don't wanna go back to such specialized solutions as the 300s CD on the defense traitline traits for warriors show for example. Lowering those nobrain cds isnt a solution, even with them the game wasnt much fun. The only solution was to nerf dmg across the board, it just isnt reasonable to have a ranged class deal much much more dmg than a melee class without having any drawback. On a sidenote, i was hit by a holo overheat for 15k in a single hit, with 3k armor.Thats should definately not be a thing anymore, but really happened, cant post a screenshot right now, because im on mobile.

I posted a warrior zerg build some time ago thats works better than ever with the recent balancechange.Doesnt have the craziest dmg, but warrior isnt good for that compared to other classes anyways Edit. On a full heal warrior i hit 5.5k heal per shout, still not worth it to go healing power. You overheal most of the time, and rarely your whole group is low, often its just a random straggler getting stuck in cc and then dying. 5.5k isn't that bad its not great but if you got 70 cd i'd say yeah its pretty useless, not like you can actually put pressure on the enemy group in pvp to say:HEY I'm healing and if you don't get rid of me I'm going to continue to heal and make life impossible so kill me first.Well, it was wvw, and 70sec isnt realistic because ammo system, but, like i said, i left healing power behind and went for a different type of support wvw zerg warrior, that provides cc, boonrip, a kittenton of might for your group (more than any rev and guard could ever give), condicleanse, ok fury/other boons.Has fully stacked 4k power, only lacks precision (25% with fury) and critdmg.Is tanky af tho and feels like a true warrior wrecking havoc with your hammer (as long as your squad throws dmg onto the cc'ed ppl)31k health and ~3k armorLots of selfhealing, every cc you throw out heals you, you can go so deep into the enemy, having hella fun with it.

  13. oh yeah, if there was any part of the nerfs that i dislike it has to be the insane blow to Sand Savant. before the patch hit on the 7th Sand Savant was still kinda useless, but one could argue for the ease of the bigger aoe. now though, there's literally no reason to not run Feed from Corruption. I think the reasoning is that if they left big shade at 3 targets or more, everyone would run that trait on their dps scourge. While small shade is more fun and big shade is meant to be the choice for support builds. In the future they could give it an increased number of allied targets: Still only hits 2 enemies, but 5 allied targets. Sand Savant shouldn't increase enemy target nor radius in the first place, only increase allied target to 5.3 enemy target was fine, 2 is killing the spec id say indeed good times ahead, melee gameplay was always more fun than pirateshipping, which is boring AF True melee gameplay is more fun ( at least for me) but i was a bit sarcastic here as reaper and soulbeast (can also add berserker) have access to an insane amount of ferocity which might obliterate people with immob in WoDThey still have to go melee, which as warrior atleast gives me the chance to fight them kind of equally, instead of them just standing on full range

The reset is absolutely usess, hammer 2 has traited 3 1/4 sec.Hammer 5 has already 1s casttime, so even if you use 2 and then 5 immediately, land it AND actually cc someone with it you reset 2 seconds of cd. Well done, thats biiiig lol You are correct. But if you are bringing hammer now, you likely are bringing other CC skills on your tool bar. And that matters how, when talking about hammer? Wont make that 2 sec reset any better.

  18. Sorry dude, but you seem to be not even knowing what exactly a stunbreak does. How can you say they are not working when you have no idea what you are talking about?What i have experienced so far is that stunbreaks still work as usual (except ofc lag delays your use of stunbreak, but thats just like before). You get cc'ed and still cant move after a stunbreak? Check your debuffs, there is most likely a immobalize on you, which is a condition, and not something you can get rid of with a mere stunbreak.Or you use a stunbreak and dont dodge immediately without stab and immediately eat another stuff. Also, siege condis are laughable, they scale off of nothing. 20 stacks bleed? Those tickle without condi scaling.
  19. I made a full diviner set and played with that, pretty neat, 25stacks might ez, almost 6sec protection from full counter on like 9s cd.   20. Until they fix F1's to do the damage they are supposed to be doing now you should run GS. But, and this is for WvW, a Swrd/Horn + Hammer build will work fine. Run Str (take Merciless Hammer), Tactics (Phalanx Strenth), and boon removal on Spellbreaker. Run Aristrocracy Runes. Everytime you CC something you'll get 5 might on a 1s ICD, and 10 Adrenaline (no ICD). RedShark Posted a build a few threads down with the specifics.   21. Yes, clearly something must be done Still 10 more than Core Engi, Core Mesmer, Core Rev, Core Guard (ok maybe 5 more than Core Guard). And no F2P accounts don’t count. No1 would consciously pick any of the above while having the full game. Ok maybe Mesmer cuz they got 2 dead e-specs.I have all expansions and im playing core guard over fb because it has more stab and is more fun to play.Kitten fb, core guard is much more fun.

Id be happy if they changed ranger in a way that it becomes viable in the zerg. You can actually have both smallscale balance AND zerg balance. BTW, by "zerg balance" you mean braindead AOE spamming 600 range in front of you while FB just spams boons, cleanse and stab? See, FB + necro is BUSTED in all game modes. In spvp, WVW in both zerg and smallscale. Name a 2v2 matchup that can beat FB+ necro which has NEITHER of these two specs. You can't. Why do you think every single winning comp in 2v2 has either necro or FB on team? And it's not even balanced in zergs either. Stop pretending it is.No, im not a fb fan, nerf that kitten to the ground, i never said it was balanced, quote me on that, kitten please, i beg you. 600 range? Ranger, thief, Mesmer, engi (core & holo), and to a lesser extent warrior have almost no use inside medium to large scale compared to other classes effectiveness. But what do we see the most? Nerf ranger, nerf thief, and nerf Mesmer threads. So what exactly is the disconnect here with people? We clearly have people squawking from a roaming 1v1 or 2v2 standpoint in a mode that is built for large scale fights. Any wonder why WvW suffers from balance so badly? Your right, people think it’s ok the FB can run around untouched while being the best at everything while classes that have no use and niche builds at that continually get nerfed. This makes no sense, but happens because players are continually complaining From a small scale fight standpoint. Then we have people screaming damage was a problem, and it wasn’t. A full zerk player would barely dent a typical tacky target in WvW. So what does Anet do (the wrong thing as usual) and nerfs everything across the board. The only thing they needed to do was gut the firebrand and leave every other class alone. That would have had a bigger impact on balance than all the steps they have taken thus far combined.Lol, yea no.Ive been hit for 15k regularly with 3k+ armor, you must have done something wrong if you didnt hit hard before. Even now i see 8k dmg hits...
