  1. This. I am not at all fond of the, "what have you done for me lately?" heart vendors who wont take my money despite the fact that I saved their life, their village, their entire nation yesterday.
  2. Solid points. As a workaround in the meantime: Use the first letter of the symbol as its shorthand: Arrow = A, Circle = C, Square = S...
  3. Isnt this like naming your character some variation of Legolasss and complaining that someone is copying YOU by naming their ranger Legulasss?
  4. The Jackal is my favorite mount. I use it over others as much as possible. The Synergetics line of mount skins are some of my favorites and I have been waiting for a Jackal variant for some time and was excited when I saw it in the store when I logged in today. Unfortunately today's release is a bit disappointing. It seems to lack much of the technological detail of the others. I am afraid that I will have to pass.
  5. For what its worth, people trying to execute long rotations in SPvP are easy kills. The game mode is much more about timing, positioning, hard counters, build, teamwork, and the like. Rotations are a great way to lose a match. You also do not need them in PvE. Sure they can help squeeze a little more DPS out of an optim8zed build but there isnt any content for which a failure to execute such a rotation is a barrier to entry. You are overstating, to a veey high degree, the importance of long rotations in this game.
  6. As long as there are encounters with enrage timers or hard time limits then there are DPS checks. There does not need to be an official dps meter for there to be a minimum dps requirement for an encounter.
  7. I believe that this hits as close to the point as we are likely to get without more information than ANet is willing to share. Metrics focused on hours playing the new expansion content are likely to be a solid way to present the results of the new release model to their higher ups.
  8. Although I didnt join until a few years post launch, my guild has been on YB all along.
  9. Been on YB for not quite nine years. Started on HoD with a guild from my GW1 days. Moved when the guild died (people not satisfied with the changes from GW1 to 2).
  10. Agreed. Well designed, and I love the fact that the mouth is animated when the character speaks. Looks great with the scaled dragon wings.
  11. I was answering your question as to why someone who was disinclined to play SotO would choose to not leave GW2.
  12. Because I tried playing it and couldnt bring myself to finish. If a restaurant serves me a steak riddled with rot and maggots I do not need to finish it in order to be able to judge the meal. Sorry for the grotesque comparison but, as I said, among the worst experiences in my decades of computer gaming.
  13. Because, as much as I find SotO to be some of the worst content Ive encountered in any computer game that Ive played over the past few decades, I do enjoy other GW2 content.
  14. Particularly since the OP indicates in this thread that he knew of the existence and use of upgrade extractors, even if he didnt have any available to use at the time.
  15. Most players would do better with LI builds in high intensity, chaotic, situations. Only a minority of people can manage intricate complexities under significant levels of stress.
  16. I see. Well those are cool too. If you stick with WvW the tickets will accrue. That said, ascended and even exotic serve just fine until then. Good luck.
  17. I dont have a skyscale, and dont want one, and generally dont have a problem keeping up. I often, when I bother with OW PvE, outpace those on skyscales.
  18. It can take a while. Best to just play WvW and allow tickets to accumulate without dwelling on it too much. A watched pot never boils and all that. I was not even going for legendary armor until a guild mate asked how many skirmish tickets I had. I honestly had no idea and was shocked, after checking and telling him, when he told me that it was enough to finish two full weight sets and start the third.
  19. Killing a group of NPCs every ten minutes or so will eventually give enough currency to buy legendary armor in WvW.
  20. With a 3 foot tall skritt sitting on his shoulders to operate the upper half.
  21. In my experience acquiring legendaries requires more than a bit of work.
  22. This. And to the people buying my mats at a premium, my wallet thanks you.
  23. If you have a large selection of ascended gear then legendaries may not be worth the cost for you. I enjoy being able to tinker with builds a lot (across multiple characters) so converting to legendaries was worth it for me. That said, every ascended drop or transmutation charge from WvW is a letdown now, so creating legendaries is making future content less rewarding for yourself if drops, collections, etc are a driving force for your enjoyment of the game.
