  1. Yeah I’ll prefer that we can copy our boons again. I don’t think it’ll be overpowered in this era, and we can surely tweak how long those copied boons can last anyway. Extending boon duration is boring.
  2. Haha, you knew why I connected it to venoms. Triggering them manually or automatically have different advantages. If they can only be triggered manually, then Phase Smash won’t be able to clear them, and it would be possible to wait for the best moment to trigger it, instead of getting triggered by someone just passing by. All that said, I don’t mean I want them to be triggered manually (I actually like delayed effects better, like Chronomancer’s well, even though it’s really weak and should absolutely be buffed). As I mentioned in my first post, I think the idea of traps shouldn’t be introduced in the first place. It doesn’t have fun interactions in competitive modes in an action based game. I feel like the reasons they made traps almost instantly for Dragonhunter did tell that they knew actual “traps” is not fun at all. They almost always lean toward to flavor/theme over actual effects or fun.
  3. Oh wow. Thief is my least familiar profession. I thought preparations are venoms. I only played Thief sometime within my first year of Guild Wars 2, which was around release. So I never used preparations. I would welcome this change for all the traps in the game, and let’s get rid of trapper rune in favor of preparations rune. Compensation can be given, of course. Alternatively, maybe just change them to be tricks or deception, and pure melee. It probably won’t affect most of gameplay anyway.

I think the damage of traps are high is not really an issue by itself, what I think it’s weird is that Dragonhunter can lay traps quickly or instantly and they can also be triggered quickly or instantly. This behavior doesn’t sound like traps to me, and they’re often more used as melee skills. Not that I would enjoy slow setting up and actually use traps in an action based game though. I would say the idea of traps shouldn’t really exist in the first place.
  5. I think Spatial Surge can use some buff in PvE but I am not sure about in competitive modes. It’s a 1200 range fast non-projectile attack, which is not weak in my opinion. If we have limited buff we can use, I’ll allocate it somewhere else. If it’s free, then sure I take anything!
  6. Let me guess, GWEN means Guardian, WvW, Engineer, Necromancer, right? To be fair, I was happy that Engineer became a good support, even though I might not want to give them too much credit since they also killed more than they brought.
  7. Mind game is not random. Even when people do things randomly, there’s still tendency. It won’t be completely random, and mind game does also take skills, just in a different form. I am not saying I like mind game, but I find it saying random not very fair.
  8. It would be nice if I could recruit players from the other worlds. Add a new field in the panel so everyone can put a quote for themselves, and a new interface so we can browse who we want to recruit for an hour maybe. I might be putting 0 gold there if my home world is too boring for the hours!
  9. I have been puzzled if you’re looking for WvW or PvP. Your build is a WvW build, and PvP is using completely separate gears which you can only pick an amulet, a rune, and 4 sigils. You don’t even have armours in PvP. Of course you don’t have food in PvP either.
  10. Re-reading it again, I might be inserting a straw man because PU was never really mentioned, it’s me mentioning it the first time. I got this impression by reading the lines between complains about old Mesmer, and PU was the most obnoxious build I can think of from the past :shrug:
  11. PU Mesmer was dead for how long? I don’t miss it though. I don’t think it’s healthy anyway, but we really don’t need to beat a dead horse, not to mention personality attack. Let it go.

  15. Nerf the numbers to be 90% or 95% should be a good start to try.
  16. Winds of Disenchantment at release was like a black hole, anyone who was sucked into it would die literally immediately. That's so OP but I actually liked the fun. Before this patch release, I thought WoD could actually use some buff, or at least Spellbreaker or Warrior in general could use some buff. Nope, a big nerf to WoD, what? They did admit that's a big nerf, and then the compensation was so little in comparison. I do appreciate Hammer got buffed slightly, but CC still does no damage, and I am really not sure if it's a good idea to shorten the cooldown for CC for more CC spam. (not that this will make an impact, just the idea in general... I think a better way to balance CC should give it better damage and longer cooldown to encourage better timing) If they really want to push Warrior considering Battle Standard, why not make Castle Lord banner-able again? Let's make Battle Standard and eternal battle castle great again! (Of course this is joking, but that's really hilarious. Can we make this seasonal like no downstate pirate ship event?)
  17. I’ll surely have some fun hearing pew pew pew. On the other hand, I do miss all those White Mantle Knights shouting "I Will Avenge You!" back in GW1 Prophecies. Or who I can’t recall shouting “Charge!” or “Incoming!”. I want more shouts.
  18. That was an odd reason and sounded like their AI needed some improvements. Let me guess, if we kept throwing AoE, they would constantly flee? Haha, sad truth. Actually, I am serious, they should replace those golems with actual raid bosses at least. Not that I think this should be the way to balance, but at least better than a dummy golem.
  19. I heard that PvP has a bunch of bots. Why not Anet make some mobs which will dodge and cleanse? Maybe this way it’ll be easier for them to balance the game.

I cannot decide which one is more likely: * Jagged Mind now inflicts 2.5 seconds of bleeding in PvE, down from 5 seconds (because all game modes surely only means PvE like we had seen in their patch notes) Or: * Jagged Mind now inflicts 2.5 seconds of bleeding in PvE, down from 5 seconds, and 0.5 seconds of bleeding in PvP and WvW, down from 1 second (because all game modes really means all game modes? Or because this is supposed to be a competitive change?)

  22. I am curious about this. Here’s the thing that Virtuoso does more than a core Mesmer with regard to CC: * Psychic Force, 150 defiance damage * Sword of Decimation, 4 seconds of Immobilization, 200 defiance damage over 4 seconds * Bladesong Dissonance, 100 ~ 250 defiance damage, depending on the number of blades * Losing Diversion, losing 100 ~ 400 defiance damage, depending on the number of clones and positioning It doesn’t seem to be great at CC to me, definitely weaker than Chronomancer, and might be better than core or Mirage, however, taking the utilities for those is a big lose to damage, and while F3 is easier to land bigger defiance damage, the maximum potential is actually lower. I am not that familiar with PvE, could you please elaborate? Or is it just comparing to other spec than Mesmer?
  23. Frankly I am also pretty tired of people complaining about other people’s complaining, and here I am complaining about people’s complaining about other people’s complaining. I think this is bad, and I hope everyone can just focus on the subject, rather than other people. Ironically I am doing the same in this post, so I won’t do this again. Just hope this can slightly improve the status of this sub forum.
  24. It’s hard to understand why a trait can be 5 times stronger in PvE (if we ignore cc having 0 damage and 300s traits), considering that mobs won’t cleanse that’s even 5 times more stronger. It’s really an odd design.
  25. I fully agree with you. Before celestial buff, I actually ran with commander set (when boonshare was a thing) to slightly gain some damage. After celestial buff I just stick with full celestial. Minstrel makes no sense to me, but since I don’t want to argue with so many people, I just call it that way :shrug: I fully agree with this as well, as said, I’ll take another power Scourge anytime. Heck, I can’t even strip more than a good Scourge even though I can strip more than most Scourge :shrug: I never tried a stripping Mallyx but I did once see one stripped so much. And nothing else I can really do as a Chrono. A bit of stability via Matra of Concentration, nothing else. Yes, utilities like Illusion of Life or Veil, back to the Veil bot which is so behind Sneak Gyro, or maybe Portal bomb. That’s probably it. Well, better than ranger I suppose.
