  1. That only works when there is a balance patch at the end of a season so that players have things to test and get good with. As it stands, balance patches are "whenever anet feels like it" so there's no reason to stop ranked. If you're feeling like it's a grind then maybe take a break. The good thing about ranked always being there is . . . the fact that is always there - it will be there when you return.
  2. You've got it backwards my friend. There are custom arenas people go to to get the participation dailies. Pretty much every day has a daily that requires a ranked win. If someone is afking in ranked it's because they are salty about something/someone.
  3. Stomp feels awful. You have to take warrior's sprint to get any real value out of it >50% of the time. When you need a stun break you are usually blind and/or immobilized as well. Give Stomp 1s of Resistance I beg of you.
  4. You can't really compare skills from different professions like that. My main gripe with ranger gs 4 is that the counter-attack is delayed after the block so even when the ranger is done blocking you have to wait to get into melee range for another few seconds to avoid the kick or waste a dodge. The ranger should have to cancel their block to counter-attack.
  5. Because the less skill stacking in the game the better it will be. We need a readable game.
  6. Boost is so much more reliable at hitting foes that there is almost never a reason to use Force. Even foes within the range of Force are more easily hit by Boost because Boost strikes multiple times during the animation. I would move like ~15-30% of the damage of Boost to Force so that people have a reason to use it.
  7. IMO the most healthy and sustainable way to increase the population of sPvP is to 1: Reexamine all class abilities/mechanics which are build gatekeepers (things like instat-cast skills, skill stacking, ports, stealth, etc. . . ) and redesign them to be very counter-playable without requiring a specific build. 2: Reexamine the UI and related infrastructure that sPvP is built upon and update it to actually flow with the rest of the game including but not limited to: Allowing spectating for anyone on non-very high ranked matches, providing the ability to save previous participated matches for rewatch, providing an incentive to play in the generic custom arenas or unranked matches if you don't feel like being competitive. 3: Finally, launch new festival (few weeks long) that rewards all players VERY WELL for participating in sPvP. This event is then part of the normal festival rotation so new players will always have a reason to check out sPvP.
  8. Wow I saw your post and was like "I have to check what position I fall now". This past season or so I've just been messing around with full glass berserker builds that will probably never make it to plat and yet at gold 3 I'm in the top 250. WTF.
  9. Willbender is pretty op in sPvP atm. I thought Anet couldn't create something more broken than herald but I guess with the right buffs they did. I feel utterly unable to compete with it with any of my warrior builds.
  10. I would make Slight of Hand increase the cast time of steal by 1/4s (give it an animation)
  11. It might be useful in this one niche scenario, but every single time I've been targeted it's because my teammate was blaming his allies for something or another. Having the target over my head is really annoying and the only way to get it off is to target something/someone else. There needs to be an option in the settings to just not have the target display for you. That, or remove that function from sPvP like OP suggested. Targeting an ally is just rude plain and simple.
  12. It heals so little so it's only useful for the resistance yet it has a whopping 1.25s cast time.
  13. If that's the case wow, just wow. There are already 3 elite specs and there will definitely be 4 at least down the road. Imagine not being able to use hammer effectively on any spec except spellbreaker?
  14. You may be able to 3-shot someone with it, but if it doesn't include one of the following, it won't be competitive 1) There is no scaleable defense on the weapon. (meaning no matter how many players attack you with normal attacks you can protect yourself) Examples include: Shield Stance and evasion skills. 2) there are no movement skills that don't cost adrenaline. If the player can't disengage when they are out of resources (adrenaline) then there is no escape potential. Rework hammer to include at least one of the above and people will start seeing success with it. Funnily enough, the other weapons which don't check at least one of the above boxes (off-hand sword, mainhand and offhand mace, longbow, off-hand dagger, torch, pistol, to some extent rifle) also never see play. . . it's probably a coincidence. . .
  15. I think I ran trapper runes in one match about 3 years ago. The community has been in agreement for years now that those runes need to be removed; so we've just been waiting on the devs to act on it.
  16. Expand your mind. Apparently there is no middle ground between nothing and COMPLETELY INVULNERABLE.
  17. This type of response to any suggested changes to core classes is so narrow-minded. I guess it's too much to remember that the devs have more than 2 braincells to rub together and would not deliberately leave a core class worse off for no good reason. smh
  18. Title. This carp is one of the least fun things to fight against.
  19. It would be better if it stayed having no CD and instead had a duration reduction. Things in this game need to be reliable, not ESSENTIALLY RNG.
  20. I WISH no one played mesmer. I feel like I need to take a shower after fighting a mirage. It's a spec that doesn't belong in PvP in it's current design.
