  1. I'm simple ... I will take another mastery line, another elite spec per class and 3-4 more PVE maps. I don't expect anything we haven't seen before. What might be NICE is some kind of content that you can contribute to over time that results in a spawned event. How to explain; allow players to submit an item to an NPC ... NPC needs 300 (just made up number here), players can farm maybe 3 reliably from completing hearts, doing other map events. NPC spawns event when 300 obtained; players do something to win spawn event. Therefore, event is not on timer, it's farmed; completed as a daily. (can repeat as much as desired, but only get reward once a day as a daily event) Players get loot from contributing over time and also for completing spawned event. This timer stuff is for the birds.
  2. I think the stance is already obvious without it needing to be pinned ... the fact we already have all these different options ingame makes the point clear. Frankly, the thread should just be shut down because there isn't anything to discuss on such a polarized issued; there are options, people are free to take the ones they like. If the very presence of those options is enough to cause someone dislike, then it's also that person's choice to not play the game.
  3. To play devil's advocate, I remember going through the light female armor skins and noticing that there were, indeed, a lot of boots and shoes with high heels. However, only a tiny handful were genuine "you could break your ankle wearing this torture contraption" high heels. Most were fairly subtle, much like riding boots, which seems perfectly reasonable to me. OK .. but I think the problem here is that we have a person who's issue isn't that there are too many 'high heels', it's that there are ANY high heels. That's not reasonable. Until this person tells us what their standard is for what is 'high heels' and 'skimpy' armor, the response is very simple; Anet can't cater to someone's subjective opinions about what is acceptable to them or not.
  4. Thank you. <3 That's exactly my point. I don't need my female characters to look like vixens but like people who mean serious business in a world full of dangers and adventures. I don't get your point. Clearly you don't like the less 'adventerous' options for skins ... Fine. You have the option to not take them. You also have lots of 'full' options if you don't want the thin ones. The problem is solved ... unless of course your problem isn't actually related to a lack of 'full' skin options. Part of your request borders on absurd even ... just how many high heels are there in this game? Of ALL the female boot skins you can equip, just how many are 'high heels'? You realize that there are still people that RP and varieties in outfits/skins are a HUGH part of why they play? Even if their population is low, they probably spend a sizeable amount of gems on outfits/skins. You think Anet is going to narrow their skin designs contrary to that part of the business because you are sensitive about skimpy armor and high heels? I don't think you thought this through. I wasn't going to post, but when I got to THIS post of yours, it really feels like your trying to push out skimpy options because you just don't like them, not because you don't have enough fuller skin options to choose from.
  5. Not sure why this is a problem; there are lots of BOTH skimpy and 'bulky' armors to choose from. 'Not skimpy' armors are not likely the answer to the problem being described by the OP. What I desire is a small selection of less flashy or adorned armors. Sometimes, it's just too much going on.
  6. Greetings! I'm planning on making a Mirage and this build looks kinda fun (at least to me) XD Just a question, since it's a double staff build, would it be okay to switch out one of the staff to a Greatsword? Thanks  You will probably lose a little in translation doing so. If you take Viper or Trailblazer stats, you just won't get value from the condition portion of the stat prefix on a GS. The double staff swap makes lots of sense. The only drawback I can think of is if you face mobs that reflect and of course, on easier trash mobs, building up condi is a rather slow approach for little gain. Then again, no one is playing a build like this to bulldoze over trash mobs. BTW, I'm loving these OWD Mirage ... it easily competes with the best pet tank builds and it more engaging.
  7. Have you considered that this game might not be your cup of tea? No, because it was my favorite MMO at launch, and now I want to recover that lost feeling of, like, actually enjoying the game. What makes you think that's a function of Anet doing something? It's not like they haven't put new content into the game since launch. Time to be honest with one's self here. If your bored, you got options.
  8. Seriously, if you got nothing to do, what are doing here? You made the almost exact same "Nothing to do" thread on May 30 ... https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/41870/what-do-you-do-for-fun Maybe you forgot how bored you were for 6 months?
  9. Doesn't work in theory, there was times where I would have 80 agony resistance and I would be joining fractals that required 120-130 agony resistance and I succeeded. Great ... sounds like your team carried you. They must have been excited to do so. This is clearly an exceptional case. The bottom line is that Anet allows you to pay to skip the line if you like. You get choice ... you pay and buy infusions ... or you play and earn them as you get through the frac levels.
  10. It's weird this was a disappointment to the OP ... we didn't get them in HoT and Anet made no announcement we would see new ones in PoF. I wouldn't mind more but to be frank, it's just a label ... as long as at least one weapon exists for each class to expand into, I have little faith Anet would put much effort into new ones. If I were Anet, my biggest problem is that you couldn't make just one new weapon because that would be very dissatisfying to the classes that wouldn't get that weapon. We would need at least 2 or 3 and even then, that wouldn't guarantee a new weapon for a new espec.
  11. I don't get this complaint ... what content DOESN'T favour classes with strengths that counter the content mechanics directly? Since every class is different, then it's logical that some classes will have a harder time doing the content. Not sure that's a problem. In most cases, there is a way to overcome and get the achievements ... but this requires rethinking how to build to do it. It was not difficult. It was extremely boring. Getting to the dead eye once was okay, when I realized I had to do again I was like YOU HAVE TO BE KITTEN KIDDING ME. I am not against encounters having mechanics. Just do not make them tedious and long. To be fair, the paths are much different so even though the idea of avoiding her attacks was the same, it was necessary to not simply retrace your steps to do so. That's enough to provide a different challenge to people than just repeating their path or following a script to win.
  12. The price of Mystic Coins in those beginning years is pretty irrelevant to the game we play now. We didn't even have craft-able precursors or gen 2 Legendaries yet. The fact is that MC value on the TP is properly reflected by the market ... and that price is reasonably following the increased demand for MC's since HOT release and craftable precurors/gen 2 Legendaries. That's not a problem.
  13. So what you are saying here is that for the last 2 years, we have stable Mystic Coin prices ... so there isn't actually a problem.
  14. The complaint doesn't make sense. What you think looks good is just a matter of opinion. Why would any reasonable person think otherwise?
  15. I honestly thinks what zone you are in. Clearly, you can get away with the most frequent burst/high DPS class in Core OW Orr. That's pretty basic.HoT requires more thinking, but from my memory, there are lots of AoE to deal with, so I did really well with classes that could stand off out of danger, like Mesmer, Ranger and Necros.PoF was different. I felt I was much more successful with 'tanky' builds (like shout Warrior) that could face off better while dealing with CC and boons, even though I still had reasonable success with stand-off classes I used in HoT. If I had to pick OVERALL one class to choose for every endgame zone, I would take Necro. There are other classes that are way better for very specific situations; I'm currently digging theif, but they just lack some very necessary elements to deal with the new nastiness in the LS3, HoT and PoF zones. For instance, the thief probably has the least problem with damage, as I proc heals on hit, crit and initiative use ... but it's very difficult to get condi clearing and really dependent on managing initiative and staying in the fight to heal.
  16. Just started playing around with Mirage for solo PVE today ... http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQNAR8cnELDFMjdqBGoBMMjlhjyv63+w3MAGlGCdFuhTD-jBSBQBo8gCQJ1fOwFAAP6ewy+DA4JBcFlfmRJIhAQuAA-e It's far from optimized but the amount of sustain is awesome and the access to stability is impressive.
  17. I have no idea what the impact is or what Anet is doing to fix it, and neither do you. Any proof I do or don't have (or any other player including you) is irrelevant. Anet has the information they need to deal with the problem, and it's their decision to deal with the problem in the way they feel is best. Unlike you, I don't assume they aren't doing anything about it because of some indirect and superficial information. I'm not playing a game with you here. Bottomline is that you don't know anything but what you see and that's not enough to have enough of an idea of who's doing what and what outcomes those actions have, on all parties involved.
  18. People are not making these threads because of the 5% people who actually do what you say is allowed. They make these threads because of the 95% who are there for hours and hours every day/night and are not at their keyboard. Also noone reports those people "for no reason". The reason is that common sense says that they are likely afk farming. You don't have to know if they are really afk because to make sure of that luckily is not the player's job but the ArenaNet staff's job. Lastly, complaining about cheaters on the forum equals "harrassing someone"? Yeah right. The problem is that people don't understand how Anet has addressed these things. They have incorrectly assumed Anet does nothing. Actions speak louder than words.. and there is very little action otherwise those same groups that infest map areas for months and months non stop would finally be asked to hurry up with the dvd and play.. allowing the activity to continue non stop for months on end is a sure fire indication that very little to nothing is being done.. stop trying to smokescreen what is so obviously happening, in numbers and unchecked.Again ... you don't know what actions Anet has taken, you don't know what impact this has on the game. I'm not denying it's happening. I'm simply not assuming the worst to fuel an emotionally-charged demand for blood.

  20. This is STILL not an indication of how significant an impact these activities have on the game, even if you did know how many people downloaded certain tools. This isn't ignoring the issue, it's trying to understand it ... If your crusade wasn't so emotionally driven, you wouldn't simply dismiss these statements as frivolous. I mean, you're requesting people get banned for this, but you got no idea what the problem actually is. :/ You're just out for blood to satisfy your own sense of retribution for people 'doing bad things'. That's just nonsense. The bottomline is this ... You don't know the impact it has on the game. You've guessed it's really big.You don't know what Anet's doing to address it. You've assume it's next to nothing. You've justified an excessive consequence (permabanning) for what amounts to offending your sense of 'visual clutter'. You're being disrespectful and these claims you are making are not too honest either. The only people that REALLY know the impact this has on the game is Anet, not you. if they felt it was a serious problem, they would address it ... and not even need to tell you about it either.
  21. What was posted was: In other words: attention can wander, as long as it doesn't wander for long. Yeah.. so those same AFK farmers sure must be watching a very, very long DVD.. in fact it must be a 20 season 15 episode/season mini series perhaps... cos the ones I have added or I come across are always at the same spot 24/7 365.Does that meet the conditions ya think or perhaps it's considered the norm to never move around in game, to never sleep or move away from the keyboard... yet those players (I use that term very loosely) still inhabit the same spot of Tyria day after day, week after week, month after month.Of course, with egg timer precision skills do get refreshed, auto casts are put out, a few rounds of firing at nothing but grass until the respawns re-emerge. Then on equally precise timing there is a quick mail to/ post to TP or change afk farm bot.to rinse repeat that happens.. .. so ask yourself, are the rules being applied, if so are they in any way shape or form sufficient or do ANET not give a rats about it.You seem to think this is just a small isolated issue - - it's not, go take a read of those hack site forums, view a few youtube vids.. educate yourself about what is actually going on.. or just bury your head in the sand and hope it doesn't escalate again and it will fix itself. But hey I guess we might just as well sit and wait for next years little PR exercise to wave goodbye to a few of them finally.. until their miniscule bans are served.Again, nothing you have said here is an indication of the significance these unattended farmers have on the economy. You simply don't know. Reading hack sites won't tell you the impact either. Speculation is not a sound approach here.
  22. That's just being sensational. There are not many places that are good AFK farming spots, so the impact to you is honestly not that big. You have no idea what the impact AFK farmers have on the game economy, so your just guessing. You're whole argument for permanently banning these people is visual clutter in a very few select and very small areas of the game ... that's nonsense. I mean, if you prefer to be self-sufficient, these people have NO impact on your game whatsoever. That's just indicating to me you don't use the TP ... where whatever small impact these people have is felt. Maybe you should clam down a bit here.
  23. Lol … if it's not that profitable they wouldn't be doing it in the numbers they do.. of course it is and yes it does have an effect on the economy.MMO minion hacks is back in full force, you only have to read a few of the hacker forum sites to know that. The ban wave appears to of been little more than ANET's annual PR exercise to show face.. Unless they begin to take this more seriously it will just get out of control again fast, it spoils the game for many of us. and by serious I mean proper perma bans along with any alt accounts they also have I say. Hold on, that's not necessarily true. I can imagine that the primary reason it's done is because it's easy, not because it's highly profitable. Your assessment here is emotional, not fact's based. It's unclear how the effect of some AFK farmers affects your game vs. legit ones, other than the fact you don't like seeing them.
  24. And 26 of those people didn't get squat because the mobs died in a few hits from a handful of players' turrets. One of the problems is that people overestimate the impact that these farmers have. I have seen the SAME handful of necros standing in Malchor's farming sparks for two years now ... Are my charged lodestones 50s yet? Not a chance. They just aren't that big a deal to waste time on.
