  1. It took me 3 weeks at release of skyscale to finish. That was when there were daily long waits to get the next part. Skyscale was meant to be a journey, not to be rushed and completed within a few days. I thought it was fine. Think of it as a legendary mount collection. Not necessary, but in the end the convenience is worth it. I’m actually doing my second account skyscale unlock now. It still doesn’t feel so bad. I just Think that people can’t wait to get it so they bash on how long it takes. Back at release, the grind was even more because you actually had to do all map metas to get all currency. You all have so many options now for that currency. It has improved drastically.
  2. I followed these variants from the beginning. It was said that we wouldn’t have to create another precursor. We would go on a “journey” to make the variant. The details were scarce, but no where said we would be getting these for free. They didn’t tell us we would be paying gold for them either. With any type of reward/skin, it is expected that you put in some effort/game play time to create said skin. I just don’t see the justification for your reasoning. These skins if you got any of them are legendary quality. Being able to get any certain variant without making another full legendary is a great deal., especially for the nice effects you get from it.
  3. Depending on amount of characters you have, you can park them all at the jumping puzzle in New Kaineng to collect 1 Jade Runestone/character/day. I collect 25/day this way. More characters the better here. For Memories of Aurene, Dragonstorm gives 6 daily, and Dragon’s end Meta gives 15 daily. You can get the memories doing these two daily for roughly 10 days. Jade Runestones depends on amount of characters you park. They can also be found in chests throughout eod maps. Perhaps there is a farm out there? Zen Daijun puzzle gives about 4-5 Jade Runestones daily. You need 1-2 people to help with that one though.
  4. The most you have to spend on a variant is around 75g. That’s if you factor in you made the research pages say from ascended weapons/armor/food, you parked a bunch of toons at JP chests to get your Jade runestones, and you did enough dragonstorms/dragons end metas to save up your 250 memories of Aurene. Personally I just park a ton of toons at the Kaineng jp, save up a bunch, sell Jade runestones when the price gets higher, and use the gold to start the collection/buy memories of aurene. Then save up the jade runestones I need and voila. Another tip, if you don’t feel like doing all the collections and make every single one. Then no sweat, just do the ones you want only! Again, once all of the variants are out, costs may slowly dwindle.
  5. As one who played from beginning and did the strikes when they were new, the content is always hard and seems impossible at first because everyone doesn’t know what to expect. Also is true with people learning fractals, raids, maybe even doing a story mission for the first time. If you’re interested in learning and spending time on it, it becomes easier in the sense that not only you learn where to stand and when, but you require less reaction time because you start to expect when things are going to happen, finding yourself getting into position at the right time much easier. I did this Kaineng Outlook strike on my alt account the other day for turtle, and the encounter was extremely long because you had maybe one person die quickly, by the sniper phase close to half were dead. By end of sniper phase 5-6 maybe dead and we finished Li off. After spending a lot if time on sniper phase, you find the mechanics for sniper phase come in a certain order. There is no timer so no pressure to finish quickly. I see people run this one a lot so don’t feel discouraged. I have been in plenty groups doing the dailies/weeklies where people were thankful we finished the fight (after they died) so they could get turtle. Get some good people in your team and someone who can lead and you will be fine.
  6. Another thing I find myself doing is that if there isn’t a post in lfg, I don’t play. I am somewhat experienced (probably 30-40 boss kills ea). Mostly I play when my guild plays. Some raids there are very specific rolls or else you will fail or not do well. If I don’t know every roll, I am not as eager to step up and post an LFG as a commander. Sometimes I just want to lfg and find something and play. The other thing too is the accessibility of commanding. If people don’t have commander tag, what’s to say they don’t post a group just because of that? People generally want a group with a commander that takes charge and sorts the rolls. Otherwise it will be a less experienced group with no organization, more than likely you will fail. They could give some leway there and revamp the lfg altogether. What strikes don’t prepare you for is learning to deal with specific rolls. (Ex, kiter, bombs, pusher, wisps, mortars, the list goes on).
  7. It’s because these were rewards when season 1 was out. When Season 1 was over, they added the prizes to the laurel merchant/fractals so people can still get them. Now, you have the choice, spend laurels, or do the achievements. You can’t expect too much given this is old content anyway.
  8. Except it would negate swim speed infusions. That’s really the only thing special about it. Everyone uses skimmers anymore anyway to swim with, so maybe do away with the infusions too?
  9. I had the idea of companion type system where you could swap with your companion, either out of battle, or maybe even during battle (you play one at a time). You could gear them and choose their profession and race (maybe even new races).
  10. We sat in lfg forever this morning looking for fills in our raid cm runs, maybe about 45 min before people started popping in. It def needs something.
  11. I had this same idea years ago. I can’t remember posting it, but this way definately shows your experience and clears in a raid wing. Would it get cumbersome if you had regular vs cm title tracks? Or would just one track be able to cover everything?
  12. Or just make the endless contract a permabuff as long as you have it in inventory.
  13. There could be a vendor that let’s you trade the endless repair tool for a contract. Then the contract you could sell on tp. To be fair I recently received one from bl keys, and I intend on keeping mine because having the permanent buff will be good to have. However, the anvil gives you 12-hr buff so really you don’t have to visit the anvil that much. We’ll see how it goes once it goes live.
  14. Of course this sounds great. The reprecussions though would hurt the legendary economy, making material prices cheaper than what they are now. Legendaries already are starting to lose value. Gen 2 and gen 3 costs of making are around 1.5k gold. Gen 2 dropped from around 2k to 1.5kg. Gen 1 dropped from about 1600 to 2k gold down to around 800-1k gold. I about crapped when I looked up this on gw2 efficiency last night. Legendaries are in-game goals, so if you want the skins, just make what you want.
  15. Check out gw2 efficiency. Gen 2 and gen 3 are both around 1500g now. Gen 1’s are 1k gold or less. Decrease in mystic coin prices and easier mystic clover methods contributed to this.
  16. Why is it a disincentive, if say even if you do not want to craft the legendary, you still get the extra gold from selling the antique summoning stones? If the stones drop to say 6-8g as a result, that’s still really good gold for completing this content each week on top of the gold for completing the strike and the cms. It sounds pretty amazing to me!
  17. They also announced variants before EoD. They weren’t going to spoil Soo wan announcement by saying there was another variant. It makes sense though now to do a soo wan variant so it’s very possibke they can do one.
  18. He was in season 2 flashbacks, but that is not how the commander came to know canach.
  19. If you’re talking about the first time play through it took me a very long time to finish. The second/third, etc it was not a long time at all once you knew the puzzles. As with everything it’s always hard when it first comes out. Sounds like complaining just to complain?
  20. I just want a Frostsaw. I played DS from the start up until EoD came out. Got gifts of aurene. No frostsaw. That’s one skin I really wanted too. Frostsaw skin should be in the vendor.
  21. It’s not terrible. The changes that were made seem to help, but most of all commanders know what they are doing by now. I found an lfg group recently, got in, and we were successful 5 min left. This seems to be a pattern at least for me if you get into an lfg group lately.
  22. Honestly in Dragon’s end, it’s built to take a max of 2-hours start to finish. The amount that you do is up to you. Sometimes I happened to find an organized group in lfg about an hour into the meta, gathering players to fight Soo wan. I hopped in, probably in a half an hour max to finish off Soo Wan. Granted I didn’t get all the end chests, but I was able to still get the hero’s choice chest, the freebie chests, and some of the new xtra reward chests. It is doable for someone who has less than an hour time, but I would recommend checking out event timers to see which part of the meta you’re in. If it’s just starting, then yes you probably won’t have enough time. With GW2, however there always seems to be something going on, so just find another good meta and hop in!
  23. To be fair, any big metas you do have a good chance to fail, if not run by a competant commander. Dragon Stand, Chak Gerant, Triple Trouble, and Octovine, to name a few, can and do fail if you don’t have a commander that knows what he is doing. Look for a commander mainly who is going to separate out in groups due to composition. If you have an organized group like this and a commander who does this hefty work and tells which parties go to which bosses and when, making sure everyone cc the boss when needs to, I have been in a few good groups like this lately that beat with 5 min left. Try to get into lfg taxies where the maps fill up. If you don’t have a commander running the show an hour in, it probably isn’t going to win.
  24. That is what I am wondering too. I will wait to see next week!
  25. They already announced the battle for lion’s arch return from season 1 will have a strike mission and CM.
