  1. Yeah that is true at least this way they aren't leaving any doubt of what they planned for thief for this expansion. So basically it will come down to whether Revenant is another PvE only elite spec again or not at least for how I play the game. You raised a great point though just because they make something people might want that doesn't mean its going to be any good. Same I guess can say for a Canthan expansion is that LOTS of people have wanted one but odds are from what they've shown so far I doubt it will be worth paying for.
  2. Its more like double sword since double daggers are crap in this game unless you are attacking something in PvE that doesn't fight back. Still its a glorified Toothfairy but I guess that is why no one ever sees the Toothfairy because its so stealthy.
  3. Yeah I'm not surprised by this but just another reason not to want the expansion I would have loved to play except for the fact they rehired the guy who was in charge of HoT. I mean when I think back at Canthan content and a Thief I am thinking Assassin not the freaking Toothfairy. However it is what it is HoT 2.0 End of Development so everyone can go back to whatever else they were doing nothing to see here.
  4. You have to remember how they develop this game for starters. So they start out making an underwhelming power and then people complain about it. So then they give it some ungodly OP ability where it becomes so broken that every single person in competitive is using it. So then after awhile they drop it down to where its no longer feasible to use it and then wait for a long time before they decide to buff it back up to restart the cycle.
  5. My only complaint is the heal requiring you to stand still to use it because if you are kiting out of enemy attacks it will always misfire.
  6. Mostly its F1 to me should have a bit more range but otherwise that is the only problem with this spec.
  7. Its the whole reason why tanking down for weeks to get out of Tiers 1 & 2 became a standard practice because no one wanted to deal with that headache. Players had to take it on themselves to fix a situation that was created by those people making special arrangements just so they could avoid dealing with the issue. However it is very clear that the over stacked server like this got the impression they were so good that no one wanted to fight them. On the contrary it was just because of how annoying they became to deal with that no wanted to do anything that involved dealing with them.
  8. The thing is the way special arrangements are made that any large guild can go to any server they feel like going to regardless if its closed or not. I've seen queued maps have an outnumbered buff all night long and then Tier 1 full servers having multiple guilds transferring from a full server to another full server. Plus most guilds that were worth playing with no longer play and its just way too late for Alliances at this point they would be better off developing some other game that doesn't have a deserted player base.

  10. Basically how its going to work is probably not too far apart from how the original Cantha content worked. I know PvE will probably have less quantity of whatever it is you are rewarded for in the expansion. Then WvW will probably have a higher quantity of whatever it may be. However just speculating but based on problems with WvW its not far to say that each Cantha map in specific regions will be owned by specific Alliances. So our current WvW maps will probably have limited windows of time where people are actually fighting on those maps. In the off hours where there is less population it will probably be something similar to the original games map rotations which would be more friendly to people not in organized fight guilds. This is just purely speculation but it would require them to establish Alliances before the expansion comes out like they have stated and how they vaguely talked about the maps being utilized. So basically this will be how night capping, population, and actual rewards will finally be handled.
  11. This Virtuoso looks really great at least to me anyways. I just noticed how first how it doesn't force you into stationary positions as well as the downsides Thief has with a main hand dagger that this new Mesmer elite spec does not have those. Then most importantly it also has applications for large scale combat too. So I can really see this being something you can easily use in small or large scale fighting. However I am very excited to hear the complaints about this spec being that it doesn't utilize clones or stealth but still will kill the same people over and over again.
  12. Basically the people who are the overlords are only viewing this system as a way to annoyingly force people to grind for legendary items. I basically had multiple sets of each kind of trinket, weapon, etc ascended for most of my characters but the way they interact with this system now its just been a headache making the game unplayable. Not only that but it makes infusions also an annoying thing to have to deal with worse than when they started the build loadouts. So basically with someone with 20+ characters I've got 100's of ascended sets of armor and trinkets that are all over the freaking place and no support but if its gems or grinding up more legendary crap they are all for it.
  13. To be honest I've seen this happen so many times over the course of both games and its just a bot with a pre-determined list of keywords and phrases that may offend someone. So its not generated by a player and I got some responses from those names to about another issue but the bots are used to screen requests so only things like gold and gem based support inquiries are going to get sent to an actual person for support.
  14. The anti-stealth people are the same ones that you throw a ball to them and they put their hands up to catch it after the ball hits the ground. Anet I will admit even you cannot fix stupidity and I don't expect you to either. Plus people who have done WvW over the years never did it for rewards. The reward was in wiping the enemy because its the game mode where you can spend 24 hours and the only gold you got was from the daily. Then you drop 2 rams and your gold is spent lol. There are just too many people who will do everything they can to exploit the game mode for it to ever have any meaningful rewards and nothing is ever going to change that.
  15. Basically players who are really good at playing this game it doesn't matter what class they play. Taking myself as an example I will play every class mostly just to learn mechanics to understand what can and can't legitimately be performed by any player. So whatever I know will destroy me will most likely do the same when I am playing other classes against those classes. So for example in wvw you will mostly always see organized groups playing guardians and necro's because those are the two classes that provide the most aoe support and offense when they stack a blob of players together like that. So in the case of guardians with pvp you are dealing with a class if people play it the way its designed and the players not playing that class work as a team with that person they are pretty much always going to kill any team that has all or mostly I am the best player in the game mentality players. That is what is making them look like they are the best players mostly just due to playing the game as it is meant to be played and not having a super massive ego.
  16. Even if you could find a guild and/or group their server is probably locked down so I don't even bother playing anymore. I just log in when there is something new in pve but after that there really isn't anything for me to do anymore.
  17. Its not a matter of the gameplay its mostly a matter of the level of toxicity that exists with the people who play that game mode which before raids they were the fractal and dungeon players. They basically create their own mutual destruction of the game but expect Anet to fix the human elements that are the source of the problem. Its like some have said you can look on the efficiency site and see how many people have completed just one raid boss and by now its probably less than 5% of the accounts being reported there. So the only way for them to be made where people are playing them is people that want to play with those who are playing them and then that is when they will get participation.
  18. The tech has existed for a long time and its how they have been completing the expansion maps so the only difference is jumping and mounts. Plus with the HoT maps you can tell the skyscale was never intended to become a mount when they did their last work on that because you can can literally just travel freely to the top and bottom of that actual map and see all the parts they moved and replaced with other ones. Although once in awhile its fun to sit up there and watch all three gerents being attacked and all the people down there have no idea they are all being watched. Then just jump down and mount smash the last one and get credit without really ever doing anything and you got what GW2 is now.
  19. I think you are looking at this from the wrong perspective. See Revenant for example if you can picture the Ventari legend having personal sustain with an elite legend that is also a purely healing spec like say something like a Ritualist that is most likely part of the reason for these changes as per how high the outgoing healing potential is with them. However no one really uses these in competitive because of the fact that having like one ranger as an opponent can make Ventari absolutely useless. With the various outgoing healing effectiveness of current rev traits combined with how the current stats work adding in something new that heals would be absolutely game breaking. So in reality its not a scheme to sell PoF its just a selling point for a new expansion which is probably going to be close to what I am thinking they plan on doing although for Revs already having one pve spec thats not really that useful outside of pve I probably won't buy end of dragons if it ends up just being something else I can't play where I want to play it.

The website mentioned isn't the problem its the players and their behavior that play raids and the efficiency site you can see how majority of players just avoid raids and strike missions for that very purpose. So its not the fault of the developer or a website that houses a database of builds to use. Before raids these same kind of players were the dungeon players people hated playing with so basically whatever is viewed as the best endgame pve content is where you will find these people and that content will always be avoided unless people organize methods to put those kinds of players in their own lane while people who don't want to play with them can play without the hassle of dealing with them.
  22. The pact has no commander anymore but people just remember you used to be the commander so they keep calling you that. People are like HELP HELP HELP ME BALTHAZAR!!!! Then they turn around and look at you like oh WERE SAVED! Then they get run over by a bunch of glorified steamrolling fire bugs and that did not bode well.
