so we won't have lunar festival in Cantha in the 2022

Because the Lunar New Year is in January, and End of Dragons launches in February. Either rush the expansion purely to have a festival held there, or delay a festival an entire month and leave January completely bare of content.

It may happen next year, though.

It is also minimal work for the festival to happen where it has in years past.  To move it to Cantha in future years will require work to have the events and other activities there.  Even if EOD were to release before the festival, the developers are going to be busy fixing bugs, etc, than to do the work to move the festival there.

The simple answer is, it'll never be moved to Cantha because festivals are F2P content and Cantha isn't.

Many festivals in GW1 had different events in different areas, partially to allow for people who only had 1 of the 3 campaigns. Maybe they could do something similar.

Since Lunar New Year has always been fairly minimal I'd love it if they kept what we have in Divinity's Reach and then also added a Canthan version as well as different activities. Free players wouldn't lose anything and paid accounts get more to do, plus it would be interesting to see how the festival has developed differently since contact with Cantha was cut off.

Is it the time for "Rings of AFKing" game?

Note that in GW1, each of the different campaigns could be bought and played without the others.  So you could own the Cantha campaign without owning the Ascalon part.  In that model, putting festivals in different cities makes some sense.

That same thing does not apply for GW2 - you can not own PoF without owning the base game (and they later changed it so PoF includes HoT, probably to reduce headaches/bugs of someone owing PoF but not HoT and what that means for gliding, item stats, etc).  Certainly EoD will require that you own PoF, meaning that you have all previous content.

The problem if they put Lunar New Year in Cantha, you can bet there will be a lot of people complaining that content that they used to be able to play they can no longer play (because they have no bought EoD).  Though maybe they could put it in some special instanced area in Cantha, sort of like the Labyrinthe Cliffs for Festival of the Four winds - people can get there, but there is no way to exit it.

"Well, 50 years ago during the Lunar New Year festival, a single dropped firecracker led to a disastrous chain of events resulting in a calamity now known as the Great Firecracker Fire. That fire burnt down all of Kaineng city and killed 75% of the population. That's why modern Kaineng is made of concrete and glass, like your Lion's Arch. Except it's vibrant green.

After that, the Lunar New Year festival became a period of quiet reflection and national mourning. What you do in Divinity's Reach is really quite offensive to us."
