  • Invigorating Precision: The percentage of life-stealing from critical strikes has been reduced. Previously thieves gained 10% of the critical-hit damage plus an additional 10% with fury. Now they gain 4% of the critical-hit damage plus an additional 2% with fury.

PvP Splits

  • Smoke Screen: Reduced field duration from 7 seconds to 4 seconds in PvP only.
  • Hide in Shadows: Increased cooldown from 30 seconds to 40 seconds in PvP only.
  • Blinding Powder: Increased cooldown from 40 seconds to 50 seconds in PvP only.
  • Shadow's Rejuvenation: Reduced base healing from 219 to 158 in PvP only.

The PvP nerfs are bad, but we already knew that. But the Invigorating Precision nerf? What? That trait wasnt good anywhere ,why would you make it completely unusable? At least replace it if you dont want thieves to use it, rather than just going "well, thief now has only 2 grandmasters in critical strikes".

That nerf was really uncalled for, IP was already only used for QoL in OW content and as "training wheels" for newer players going into more demanding content. The last time they changed this trait was a buff which I felt was alredy rather uncalled for but this one is just dumb and really makes it look like that the devs. change things on a whim.

It's great in a lot of contexts, just not in a way that breaks anything. (It's relatively weak in WvW/SPvP and good self-sustain isn't a problem in PvE since most challenging stuff is more about giant hits that take out most of your health pool than just being able to outlast chip damage. And IP still leans towards a "high risk" playstyle since you want to max out crits and damage, as opposed to other classes which go Cele/Trailblazer.)

Nerf healing for base Thief and every elite spec to make healing more focused on Specter, even though it can't target itself for heals. I mean it's pretty expected.

No it wasn't because these things don't compete with each other for the same spot. Usually they at least go for things that fall into the same niche when they "nerf old stuff to make the new things look more appealing by comparison".

Oh it gets worse. See, they nerfed healing for everyone.

Yeah, GG A-Net really played themselves here. They wanted more players to go into their more difficult content but going after "training wheel" type effects will just make this content even more unaccessible for the average player.

100% this was done to nerf potential Spectre self sustain.

That wouldn't make any sense, CS is among the last things most people would run on specter.

Holy hell, people. You have plenty of self sustain as a specter.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Enter_Shadow_Shroud (shadow force caps at 150% of your max HP, extra HP bar)

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Siphon (25% shadow force)

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Traversing_Dusk (large shadow force gain)

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Consume_Shadows (75% of your HP at max shadow force)

I won't but don't tell me that in order to have good sustain, I should just play Spectre..   GTFO

Then I suggest you practice with a different type of build, maybe power interrupt.

Edit: And sigil of draining.

I suggest you don't make a build diversity nerf/problem out to be a git gud issue .
I also suggest not being a smug annoyance to converse with.

I do really wish Anet would just replace traits like this instead of nerfing them into uselessness, this is how we ended up having probably the least build variety of any profession, hell our entire acrobatics line is still mostly unusable thanks to nerfs it received 2+ years ago (hello 300s CD traits), each time they "smiter's boon" a trait or skill like this it just narrows build variety even further, now the only trait anyone will ever run in CS is No Quarter, as if this wasn't already run in 90% of CS builds anyways, now it'll just be 100%.

I do what I want. But I am not going to uselessly blow up all over the place because I am completely fine and capable of adapting, unlike half this community. If you really want to be that stubborn, then take all that energy you're wasting and push for buffs to other parts of the profession.
