Top PVE right now?

Recommended Posts

Skilled players have a variety to choose from mostly the EoD specs being top notch. Some classics like Mirage still good. Power is getting a boost in a few days so we'll see how that shakes out.

And of course there's Mechanist which is the infamous Press 1 to Win spec. While skilled players can out-do its DPS they often have to actually play the game instead of watching Netflix. 😉

Bladesworn has the highest possible power DPS, Machinist is the most common. Spectre does good at condi, and Virutoso has high damage power or condi but relies on some gimmicks.

Soulbeast still has massive burst (possibly the highest in the game), just like it always did. If anything its stronger than its ever been due to some improvements in the Ranger weapon sets. But if you're just looking for funny big numbers Bladesworn is better overall I think.

It's quite silly the reaction to a spec that doesn't require spreadsheets and juggling tons of different skills to be effective. Mech is what necro should have always been. Let's also not forget one of the most used builds in gw1 was SoS and it's pretty faceroll. So unsure why everyone else feels so threatened because there's a competitive spec that doesn't require hard to find gear and a rotation that allows me to participate while playing the dance dance revolution that is boss fights in this game.

Mechanist is highest dps, moderately sturdy(not as fragile as virt etc) and simpliest to play, current meta, there is hardly an debate about this, absolute majority of players that arent theorycraft nerds or game veterans will do highest dps with least efforts using mechanist.

Seen two mechanists today in 5am raiding today, pulling 42k sustained on chill mode.

edit: yes 42k, thats higher than #1 roll on crow benchmarks on golems.  Cant make this kitten up.

Yeah but it doesnt really reflect reality, at least not for absolute majority, not too mention we end up with lads pulling higher numbers without being full buffed(which changes A LOT, some builds are meta just because it assumes the required buffers is around) and attacking weakened golem.. some classes require ridiculous survivability skills OR complex rotations (else bottom of archdps list)

Im not fading them here, they are very very good, and their benchmarks is useful for me, it just it doesnt really reflects pve meta

Good question.   I wonder why mech players feel threatened by the suggestion that their spec be appropriately balanced?  It's not as if anyone is asking for it to be harder to play.   But shouldn't a more limited and difficult spec like pretty much every spec other than mechanist outperform the one that plays the game for you?

Whats funny about this is with current PvE damage numbers, a Machinist can literally oneshot a Catalyst in the guild hall arena using just their Mech and any one of the F# skills, and they can 100-0 the Catalyst to fully defeated using a combination of all three in 1-2sec.

Thats without ever using a single weapon or utility skill.

That's not how benchmarks are measured. Each boss has a specific armor rating, so if I boss is stationary and has a lower armor rating than the practice golem, then you'll do more damage than your benchmark. Conjured Amalgamate is a good example of that.
