Time to return some damage to CC skills?

Not hoping for them to deal full damage, but maybe half of what they would have done in the past.

Guardian doesn't have pistol in the past.

I think what they meant was Pistol didn't exist in the past so the CC skills on it would be designed with the current balance in mind. You may not agree with that, but that's how it is.

Well, sure, you're probably right if off-hand pistol will see any play in WvW.

Unfortunately, everyone who actually tried it knows that it won't. And no, it wasn't designed "for the WvW playerbase" which is probably less than 5% of the games playerbase.

I'm not saying it was designed for the WvW playerbase, but that it was designed in an environment where CC skills do no damage in competitive. They knew going into the design process that it would be the case so you can only assume that the weapon is balanced around that fact. Whether they have actually done so or not, or if you agree with said balancing is another matter entirely.

Guardian's pistol 5 is not going to be worth the effort fiddling with its mechanics just for cc and tiny damage in competitive.

I'd rather they remove the cc and leave the damage for wvw/pvp,  maybe add slow or immob instead.

As it is the offhand will only be seeing pistol 4 being used for the combo then swap to another set.

The funny thing is it was clearly designed as a hard hitting skill with cc attached to it. Not a cc skill with damage added. How did they not foresee this....?

Riba and others have another link to feedback on new skills, would add it to those as well if you can since the pistols are a beta skill.

What do you guys think about CC skills being given a static unchangeable amount of damage or a damage cap? For example a simple knockdown skill can deal up to 1000 damage max and not more than that. It's still like 980 more damage than a funny haha 20 damage boop on the head.
