Anybody else find it ridiculous how builds keep changing?

It feels like after every patch, one or more builds are no longer viable. I used to be really into PvP, and then they reworked it so much, fine, I change to another profession, I finally get a good build going, and then they rework the professions again, fine I find something else and it works out well, then I return to the game once more, and wow they've changed too much. It's so frustrating. I felt that PvP was already balanced like months ago, I don't see why we have to rework over and over again. It feels like there's never going to be a time where PvP will be balanced with all these changes all the time. I've played a lot of competitive e-sports seriously, and there are patches that change things, but it's never this drastic.

The issue with pvp is cheeze and whine.

Maybe you have to eat the cheeze before you can wash it down with the whine.

Maybe you eat the cheeze because you had enough of the whine.

But too much cheeze and too much whine can really ruin a party(pvp)

You also have the issue of many types of cheeze. Some believe the cheeze is fine, while others believe it to be bad.

Some cheeze is really only good with another type of cheeze, and sometimes some types of cheeze just wont get washed down by any type or amount of whine.

Now, this brings me to my last point. There are many types of wine, but in this region, most of it will be sour.

Washing down bitter cheeze with sour whine is never a pleasant process. Dealing with that kinda thing can seem like time slows down.

But, let's be honest. Some of the cheeze makers like to save the "best cheeze" for last, or perhaps they just like to keep putting more on the plate.

So, since you brought the whine, what kind of cheeze are we washing down today?

You should reroll to Rev. Same build with literally no changes (aside from replaced traits and eliminated sigils and runes) in 2.5 years. Plus no hopes of a new spec even able to replace Herald, or the staff/sword+X surpased by anything better.

Some people love that. They like playing the meta game of trying to figure out what builds are going to be popular and choosing setups to rekk them. And some people want cheezy or OP builds to get nerfed, so they like seeing stuff change.

I don't get how you wouldn't expect that to happen. You see, the meta evolves as the game changes ... or even as people change it themselves. That's why I'm always telling people it's nonsense for anet to chase meta with game changes for balance; some portion of the meta can't be controlled in how it changes.

The problem i see in pvp is that theres a lack of viable and diverse builds in pvp to play. Sure you can play anything you want but it will be hard countered, it wont have what you need to be successful in team fights like stun brakers, stability and or condi clears. To me the problem lyes in everyclass that they have access to everything. There is no specialist any more in the world of gw2.....gw2 took the skill, strategy, knowledge, tatics out of gw1. Which what made it great. Now every class can do everything cc, immobi, stuns, heals, self heals, dps, burst, sustain. all can be done from a single build these days on any toon/class. Its just a boring selfish concept of gameplay that doesnt creat comrodery and proper class diversity.

Really?

The only class that hasn't changed in meta since HoT is Revenant.

• Elementalist Tempest support is out of the meta

• Engineers now go holo for the most part

• Necromancers are both condi Scourge and Power Reaper Quickness

• Rangers usually take Soulbeast DPS instead of bunk Druid

• Mesmers are now the highly-mobile Mirages; the HoT Chrono build is trash now

• Thieves are Deadeyes and core S/D, not just D/P dash

• Warriors are Spellbreakers; Berserker is so bad now

• Guardians are all support Firebrand, core Guard; Dragonhunter is nowhere to be found

No great changes with PoF.
