  1. After reading the useful parts of this thread I decided to swap out the berserker trait line for tactics. I'm killing things much faster. Make of that what you will.
  2. I get what you're getting at but I can't think of many video games (Or table top RPG these days for that matter. Thanks 3.5!) that don't reward min-maxing for combat over other approaches. "Diplomacy The Game" might be a hit with critics but gamers have used their wallets to vote for "I want a body count on par with Genghis Khan!" The best I can say is to use a build that goes with your playstyle and forget about any part of the game that's unwelcoming to you.
  3. Looks appropriately cuddly to me. Were you aiming for bad-ass?
  4. I 100% agree. While they have occasionally shown us the inner doubts of the Commander has it always passes quickly and never causes a problem. And it's a shame that Bangar is being increasingly portrayed as another big old racist ...To use the rpg term. He's more correctly a speciesist... and not someone who is genuinely scared shitless of the Commander & Company like any sane person would be. It could add a lot more depth to the story than, "Baddie shows up and the Commander has to put them down." But "People killing each other over conflicting worldviews," is a bit too human...
  5. You're allowed to like what you like. Anyone who disagrees with your tastes don't hold opinions worth consideration.
  6. Unfortunately medium armor seems to the the only group of skins that has anything that goes well with the tee. Light is too stripperriffic and heavy is well, actual armor.
  7. In anime fans have a term for that sort of opinion: "Having shit taste"
  8. IIRC at around level 425 you get a letter that starts off a quest to allow you to get to 500
  9. Most of them aren't worth the time to click on them. Just get what you need to play the game and forget about the rest.
  10. Getting an achievement and a pile of dragonite ore isn't important enough to me to base my play time around it. It's the same with all the events with lengthy timers on them TBH. Maybe once they start letting you sell ascended materials...
  11. Per item? Yeah, the math makes it seem tiny and one ring isn't going to do much. But it adds up quickly and even just a set of ascended trinkets and nothing else shows a pretty obvious boost in damage output (or whatever you're gearing for).
  12. It's pretty obvious Anet are still in the "looking for survivors and extinguishing flames" part of their disaster response. And since this is too big of a disaster to maintain stony silence about they'll tell us as soon as they know themselves.
  13. Cepha's Constant has already proven the asuran primary position in the Eternal Alchemy.
  14. Complaining is why the forums exist! But before you consider uninstalling, take a look around at the other players in the jungle: No one is walking. Everyone is on their mount and racing past the mobs and it ain't because they're in a hurry to see Lord Faren. Well, maybe. He's adorkable. But the point is that even the super elite vets still find the maps hard enough that they don't want to get caught out. You're not alone in finding the jungle tough. Landscape- Avoid what you can. Even if you do become a super elite vet it's usually not worth the time it takes to clear out a horde of pocket raptors. Take your time with everything else. As the game ages you'll find yourself alone trying to retake a pact control point more often than not. Try to peel off some of the mobs from the group. Hit and run tactics. Consider yourself the Predator and the mordrem a group of 1980s muscle-heads with machine guns. Story- Don't rush in and try to solo cull. Let Rytlock and the gang draw the aggro first. Dragon's Watch are your meat shields. The "take your time" advice hold true here too. I feel this is important so allcaps- JOIN AN HP TRAIN. Not only will your friendly commander show you the how to get through the jungle and help you get "swole", a good commander will keep you informed all the way through. Especially if you admit that you're a newbie to the map. Being surrounded by folks who have done it before will be that helping hand you need. Once you make your way to the opposite end of the map you'll probably be feeling a lot better about your ability to handle things. Good luck and remember: You ain't got time to bleed.
  15. Good. If I want to go do some PvP I'll go play... Well, not a game where the square-shaped competitive mode is being hammered into a triangular co-op hole.
  16. TT is... Never active when I play.On a dead map when I do. So I'm still missing two worms after all these years. I'm a big fan of "it doesn't happen until you get your asses in there and make it happen" but I can't see it working this way without major overhauls to that map.
  17. I agree. Buuuuut~ It's also an entirely unnecessary vanity item. Don't bother if the effort isn't worth the reward for you.
  18. If the new map is WvW, but against NPCs, where it goes in circles until the timeout then I can't see it lasting unless the loot is too thick to ignore like DF and Octo. Competitive people like competition specifically because they can prove their superiority over other people. Game AI will not provide them with that. If it has an endpoint like DF and the loot is thick I can see DF depopulating like SW and Istan did simply because this map is the new shiny.
