  1. PvP brings the worst out in everyone, so it's not a big loss. PvE is no different, of course, when you have to deal with other people but with PvP there is no other option.Not sure how anything of what I said have to do with PvP players emotions.I just stated the obvious. You want PvP to be better, i want PvP to die in a fire and rot in a forgotten hole.

SWTOR has some great class storiesand on the bad side, this game is still far from the cringefest of BDO and the sleuth of of eastern mmosprey that it never reaches those depths Now that you reminded me, SWTOR wasn't too bad, exept the usual light side or dark side stuff (i played it many years ago so not sure about today). I also agree that FFXIV story is terrible. Just another blank slate who does as they are told, a mindless mook.
  6. Conditions (burning) ticking do not deal retaliation damage, so it was likely a skill/trait/effect that was still active that was dealing the retaliation damage to you. Something like Rune of the Firebrand's effect for example, or if you had used Barrage and it keeps hitting for several seconds after the skill has been used. The damage of the retaliation is from the boss' stats, so it will always hit everyone for 875 retal damage. That kind of person will find a way to AFK anywhere and has nothing to do with the event at all. It's the same type of person who just presses 1 a few times at world bosses then tabs out, or just leaves their turrets up whilst they go make breakfast.Indeed, that is true for all MMOs. That's what i meant with the "team work", you do all the work, they get the same rewards. Nothing new here.
  7. Amen brother, but you'll not find popularity in your post here with all the... Asianophiles... that are all over this game. No. I can also just stop giving them my money to go back to the same maps I already played in GW1 14 years ago. PoF was already a flaming pile of disappointment. It's easier to milk money with nostalgia than trying to do something new. Maybe anet did that before but that is long in the past.
  8. I have never played MMO with good story but is average too much to ask? The base game story in GW2 was nothing special but at least it didn't suck as bad as Aurene.After all, Aurene is not the commanders pet, the commander is Aurenes pet.Aurene has all the power and all the information and the commander just bumbles around, hoping not to accidentally doom Tyria. The commander just continues to bumble around, mostly wasting time as Aurene knows what to do but tells you nothing. After all, a pet needs something to do to keep it entertained and of course, out of the way while the master does things that actually matter.If Aurene leaves for the story, it still won't make it go away, anet made it too important.Not to mention the prophecy BS where, instead of doing it because you want, you do it because "it's the way it's meant to be". No one wants to be a mindless puppet following some destiny/fate, right?What i'm saying is, it can't possibly get any worse than that.

  10. This is always a hoot. Wasting time is not "difficult", it's still really easy. Also, legendaries are optional too so...? Perserverence IS difficult for some people. I'm not a grinder and I don't grind map complete, yet I've made 29 legendary weapons, including most of the core game ones. How? By not focusing on map completion. As I run around the world, I do a few things in passing. Disarm a trap. Remove a weed. Kill a centaur. That's it. The game remembers what I did. When I come back through I might do another, or I might not. I also do events sometimes, which fill in hearts incidentally. And at the end of just playing, and that's all I'm doing, suddenly 80% of a heart is done and I can finish it off in a minute. It's only a problem if you want it now, or you're choosing to grind it. Of course i grind it because they sucks, so the sooner it's over the sooner i can move on, doing it slowly won't change that fact. I only did the PoF hearts that were required for E-spec collections and never did them again.Maybe one day i will do full map completion in PoF too but it's not today. If it isn't dull for you then good for you, simplicity itself. I guess we will see if they make them equally boring in cantha. You miss the point completely. It only sucks if you're doing it all at once, because your'e doing it all at once. There's no way you can convince me that as you're running through a zone to an event, if you stop and do one trap in passing, it's the same thing as grinding out 303 hearts. I'm playing the game and the hearts are getting done, even though I haven't set out to do most of them.It sucks for me because they are boring, simple as that. There is no other reason i need than that. As i said, if you can ignore that then good for you, i won't. If they didn't require any more than the base game hearts to complete, then it would be fine but someone at anet got a "great" idea. You do you, quit trying to explain fool decisions.
  11. I have seen RP people never using anything but emotes (how do they even do that?). These people obviously want to be noticed, so if someone goes there to be a prick, i guess you got noticed. Of course, i'm sure there are those you don't even know exists, so no one bothers them, unless they go look for them and yes, they should be punished.I guess what i'm asking is, why not use party chat or something?

  14. When i did skyscale, i didn't know those charged quartz crystals even existed so it was hard to prepare for it. Of course, even if i knew, it would have still been unbeliveably dull to do everyday. What i'm saying is, even if you start doing it before hand, it's still going to add nothing to the collection. I still did it but... I hope anet won't make more of these (oh, who am i kidding?).

  17. I have reported many painfully obvious botters with at least 5 bots and nothing is done about them, it's utterly pointless. All the main cities have them standing in trading post every day, every single day all day and they will be there forever.Why the story? To make sure everyone knows that nothing will be done about anything, least of all some AFKers.

  19. I'm fine with the base map hearts but the PoF hearts specifically take FOREVER and that just makes them dull.

  21. Voice acting is a MASSIVE waste of money, maybe this is a test to see how many people actually care so they can maybe save lots and lots of money. I still don't see why people want it so badly. Immersion? Heh!

My guess is that it's easier initially like that, don't know how but what else could the reason be?The answer is to provide a consistent experience to the players across game modes. The dream the developer has in that the player has the same look, feel and effect of any given power regardles where it is used. Having a power operate differently creates confusion and dissat among a large number of players.All abilities have been changed to be different? When did that happen?
