  1. people who like & play raid = more profit for them people who dont like raids = arent forced to play things they dont enjoy people buy gems to gold = profit for anet win win for everyone really
  2. last time i was quoted 6.5-8.5k MC (when MC is 1-1.1g) waiting to see if anet does something with strike cm before i spend or not (all gold earned ingame)
  3. from a narrative point of view, "ministry approved (class)" should be just that... i've already done this for 4 classes, the rest i can probably do in a dps role, but not sure if i can even dps elementalist...

(for the record i got every class to 12/14 BEFORE the fixes and changed story requirement) why stop there, make all classes need kaineng strike while you are at it... one of the guardian collection needs an obscure event and boss one of the ele needs an hard to find event one of the ranger needs a whole event chain which can bug out some need echowild map completion while all others take less time some need jade maw while others take one event boss some need soybeans while others can do jade nodes/petrified wood some fishes are easy to catch while some take like an hr some classes give one handed weapons while others give two handed (worth more) you can buy it for 100 favors from the favor npc in DE

  7. converting gold to gems takes about 6 hrs farming (120g @20g/h) in the uk, if you make minimum wage, after taxes will put you at around £7-8/hr(700-800gems), so 30-40mins real work
  8. agreed, kaineng could really use a teleporter right under the big jade thing if there is an easier way to traverse i havent found it, and im finished with the map, havent been there in a week or two now

(as someone who spent 300g on the tag) some of the functions are quite basic and should be available as a standard make some of the tag functions available to all squads by making a 10 person squad leader (ready check + move people and maybe + kick) but not have the tag itself available shown on open maps (maybe show within squad/lfg)
  11. sadly, rng lootboxes are here to stay until majority of countries make it illegal look on the bright side, some people have to pay to keep the servers running so the rest of us can buy to play
  12. hard to say about echovald because of skyscale, but to this day i still consider tangled depth the most well designed map
  13. 5s to 5.2s = balance 5s to 15s = ??? 20% to 18% = balance 20% to 6% = ??? a lot of what anet does really cant be called "balance", more like take a hammer and smash it to bits

  15. if you fight from the start (so dodge) you get about 10 seconds extra DPS. Given the time/effort invested, no one wants to risk a 1% fail.

  18. i see his point, most events dont have set timers or at least we dont know what the exact timer is, some are set times after a previous event succeeds/fails, some arent even set times as far as anyone can tell this was most noticeable for gen 1 precursor collections, most of the Orr events collections had uncertain waits up to 2hrs(?) the EoD ones can be just as bad. you could map jump using lfg, but many are bugged/extremely rare/difficult to encounter
  19. i agree the game is terrible at teaching players how to be optimal but, you can truly say gw2 can be played however a player wants (other than DE). Do we really want to lose that "identity" by making every player start off in berserker/viper with the same traits and weapons? (assuming they dont get annoyed from dying every 10 seconds)
  20. whatever their reason, im guardian main in instanced content now open world thief shortbow has a better 1 skill, and moves faster in general
  21. well... the other classes still feel pretty bad, cuz their sustains got nerfed too xD example, thief got hit from 20 to 6%
  22. by analytics i assume you mean gw2efficiency, which keeps pretty much all the APIs it gets regardless of age/activity, even then, 90k/300k isn't bad, if you apply that to the entire game population... and it's very hard for players to judge how popular metas are, they often fill up quikly + disappear, those that dont tend to have full maps past 10 seconds of going on lfg. metas could be less active now but theres no way for players to judge with any accuracy. never played any of the lineage games myself and gw2 is nowhere near the state of wildstar or w.e city of heroes is... i dont see how thats a comparison i agree EoD couldve be better polished on release, but between this and next expansion, they've got years of LW they can polish with.
