  1. That makes sense. To fix the clumsy feel, they could render a different shape, maybe a little more egg shaped if not outright pointed, offset instead of centered on the base cursor so the clicky part is on the end of the point. I definitely am avoiding the highest contrast one as it masks too much of what I'm trying to click on, but even the medium one makes precision very difficult. I'm also one that hasn't had any trouble seeing the cursor except that it outright vanishes a lot. When it's visible, it's big enough. I'm sticking with medium contrast for now because I really like not losing track of it but goodness it's hard to precisely click anything.
  2. The hotfix hasn't happened yet, I think? At least, the OP was about an hour ago and said the fix would be pushed out in a few hours. I just opened the launcher for the first time today and there's no patch, though maybe in a hotfix there wouldn't be.a loaded patch. And it's odd that you're seeing the Alac change if it's not been pushed. /ponder
  3. A small thing I liked (not saying I didn't like other stuff too, but this one wasn't in the patch notes so far as I noticed): The fishing bar now has a grey inset for contrast to make it easier to see how close you are to landing the fish. It wasn't super hard before, but now it's really easy to do, such that you can almost just keep it in peripheral vision and maintain overall situational awareness. Also I just checked and THERE ARE KEYBINDS NOW FOR FISHING STUFF.
  4. Greetings! I've searched around for answers, and asked in Map, and now I turn to you helpful folks. I've noticed in beetle races that my beetle is slower. Not the bug that has the boost not register -- it just doesn't launch as fast as other racers. In Dragon Bash, Map suggested I try to stay on the smoother surface at the start. That did help. However, I can hit the boost at race start at about the same time as those around me, and then everyone pulls ahead before we get to the first slope down to the hairpin turn. My beetle just has no oomph, even its engine roar is sluggish. I've had similar issues in other locations. So I must be doing something wrong. I would love advice from the racing experts on how to wring more speed out of my beetle. My setup and procedure: I hit my boost key (which is my on-foot Dodge key, not space bar) and either just tap it or hold it down, I see no difference either way with that. Once up to speed I tap my auto-run key so I can focus on steering and not have to hold anything down to keep moving. I tend to have the RMB held down most of the time for steering purposes, though I've noticed that I get better tighter hairpin turns if I release it before holding my drift key, then press it to spin the camera and release the drift key. My usual beetle in Dragon Bash does have a lot of glowy effects and a trail, if that matters, as I've been Bashing with my no-color-sense reaper. Thanks for any knowledgeable suggestions.
  5. It very much is a den of antiquity. Iniquity, not so much!
  6. I'm so sorry for your loss. And I appreciate that the memorial you ask for is a simple eagle. That's something the devs could toss in (hopefully a non killable version) without then needing to put in special custom made memorials for every player that passes, so it's not a prohibitive ask. Only those that knew Sawda will take any notice of the bird, but to them it will mean a great deal.
  7. I may be wrong about this as I haven't run a race in quite a while, but I'm pretty sure that once you clear a gate and get credit for it the next gate shows up on the minimap as little blue points. It's not easy to spot, especially in the dicier races full of aggro drawing your attention, but it is at least a tiny clue as to progress. I also have a vague impression that the next gate you want isn't lit up until you trigger the previous gate but again could be quite wrong.
  8. Which birthday? If it's the 9th, you only get a dye from that on the first character to reach the 9th birthday as unlike in previous years this one is account bound and you have to choose just one a year.
  9. I like these. They aren't quite as imaginatively different as the previous trio packs, but they dye nicely (though on two of them one is stuck with gold for the collar, so my alts that don't use gold hues will be staying with other skins). I enjoy having more slender skyscale options. One thing I particularly like, that does make them notably different from other skyscales, is the stubby wings. A petite, tucked in skyscale is pretty nifty. So I'm sad to see the tweet that you guys didn't intend the small wings and are going to fix them. Not in a refund-wanting way, just they won't be as special to me once the wings reach full growth. Maybe you could poll the players who bought the pack to see if they want to keep the short wings, get them full size, or don't care one way or the other?
  10. Don't even have to be a new player for this one. I don't play rev much but doing things on my vindicator for collections I was constantly trying to avoid my own orange circle, heh, and I've been playing regularly since 2012. I haven't seen too many people avoid my scourge shades, though it may help that I do the one combo mega shade and drop it on what's being fought. What puzzles me is how often people instinctively strafe away from my chronomancer wells, which will give them nice things when they vanish if only people stayed inside the ticking pink circle.
  11. I also want these. However, I also want the TP to load quickly. If it has to compare everything in the TP to everything in my account every time it opens, then filter out the already known items, it's not likely to be very quick. Could even be many minutes per load if not longer. The runes/sigils stats search, though, now that seems more viable and definitely a high QoL need.
  12. I mentioned this back in December, regarding Specter, so I fear it may be deliberate at this point as there was plenty of time to address it before launch it they thought it important. Maybe they figure Specters want to be able to drop wells anywhere in the combat area including on allies who aren't near the current target? But as someone that mouse moves, precision dropping of aoe circles is just not a thing for me. I would rather have the default be my current target, and leave it as my burden to select a target that is where I want to pop a well. I certainly will be more accurate that way, rather than wasting my cooldowns, even if it makes me a hair slower than someone with good cursor control. Better a hair slower than dropping a well in an utterly useless spot, imo. (It's why I have my Scourge shades combined into one big one, which does auto snap to my target, I cannot begin to place three of them accurately especially as my auto snap will just put all three in one spot anyway).
  13. I posted this in a general discussion thread, will add it here to add to the data: I am one that had no problems. I don't know that the alt I used has done all the dungeons, though it's possible as she's my help-others-with-pve character but still is not my usual dungeons/fractals character. I got the game mail that the currency had been swapped (total over 12K Tales), looked in my inventory to confirm, and headed to LA (I was not in LA on log in, in case that has any impact). I clicked through all the armor options, then a few of the weapon options, and everything was available to me. I do have all dungeon achieves complete except for the last bits of Hobby Dungeon Explorer, for which I need to do 6 more paths to cap out the AP. This alt is not a day one alt, though she's one of my older ones. I have not checked on any other alts as to whether the vendor is locked for them or not. I have five alts from original launch, and have regularly played since launch.
  14. You should do a followup response -- on the same ticket, they really don't like multiple tickets that aren't for new issues for the submitter -- politely asking for further clarification as you see from forum posts that others have got everything unlocked. It sounds like you (OP) have done similar amounts if not more, so it should indeed all be unlocked for you.
  15. Yikes, kokocabana, good catch on the age of that Reddit. Ok, in that case OP, either you are pulling our legs or you need to file a Support ticket because this situation is unique to you. Lay out the issue clearly, maybe even link to this thread. If you get a boilerplate response, reply to it politely; each time you get a reply may be from a new Support person as it gets moved towards the one with the most expertise to help you, so stay polite as it goes and you'll see them working to aid you.
  16. Well, let's see. First, I'll admit that I have a near 100% win rate in DE. This is because after one fail, I saw a very nice player's post on these forums that she was leading DE squads, and I joined her Discord and all the runs have been wins, even the ones that were half PuGged due to not having fifty regulars available that particular evening. The squad is now closing in on 100 wins. I have not been in every run, as I have other commitments several evenings of the week. But this means I have not felt the frustration with DE that many here express. Also, I remember how undoable the revamped Tequatl was when it came out, and Shatterer too, and Triple Trouble, and even Dragon's Stand. Of those, only TT still needs a dedicated organized group, and there are such groups that do it routinely and invite all in that wish to join. So I believe that in time DE will be like that as the community learns it. So what core experience I enjoy -- being part of a team. Our leader is kind and giving. She is always delighted when someone new to the meta joins a run. She does require joining her Discord to hear callouts, but non-hearing players can just read the guide in the Discord and then read the text callouts the lieutenant pastes into chat. There are giveaways in the Discord, and lots of support. No one gets yelled at for mistakes in the fight. The long duration -- I could do without that. We form up half an hour in advance. At a quarter of we all rush the gate to try to find a fresh map, then quickly join on whoever landed in such a map. Then we go build up our stacks and map readiness. Usually we have at least thirty minutes once all that's done, in which one squaddie leads the raptor and springer race achieves, people map complete, light lanterns, etc, and our leader explains the meta to new folks. But I would greatly prefer for a fresh map to give about 30 minutes to build stacks, then the one hour meta, then 30 more minutes optional for map achieves for those that wish to stay. 2.5 hours is a lot to spend on one focused activity, no matter how fun the group makes the time. Low DPS players -- Sure. They need to learn. In a fifty player squad plus an overflow group, there's room for some not to be min-maxed (our squad encourages bringing whatever builds you want to use, albeit strongly requests a good amount of personal cc and wants guardians to have Stand Your Ground and necros to have Epidemic, and if someone asks for guidance on how to use what they've brought it is provided in a respectful manner). I'm pretty sure I'm not rocking max dps, certainly I wasn't when I was rotating in a bunch of alts in seldom-played professions to get the elite weapon parts, and I've always felt welcome. The meta does require dps, especially right after breaking Su-Won's bar, but it more requires doing the right thing at the right time and trying to have decent support in each subgroup so as to boost everyone's dps.
  17. Definitely strange. See, I just made Shift-F8 my secondary command for weapon skill 1. Tapped it, my pistol fired. Tapped 1, my pistol also fired. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/375715891280609285/983167494523060234/ComboKeyShiftF8.JPG Step by step: Open Options Click on mouse icon to get to keybinds Scroll to the thing you want to bind to F8 Double click in the keybind field to the right of that thing (here, I clicked in the blank secondary slot, but could have done so in the first key column to overwrite the 1) Click in the empty field that comes up (possibly unnecessary, but I do it) Type the key or combo you want to use (here, Shift+F8) Hit accept And that should do it. You didn't say what you were trying to bind to it, so maaaaybe it's a thing that can't be rebound?
  18. Oh, in that case, Options>General>5th toggle box (Show All Enemy Names) This will show them in red all the time. Here, have some scarabs, CTRL is not being held: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/375715891280609285/983132318598332467/ShowEnemiesMenu.JPG https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/375715891280609285/983132318313115748/ShowEnemies.JPG
  19. I might think of more, but off the top of my head there is the little memorial on the ledge in New Kaineng by a cat. Thanks, Connor. It's not a real deep or ancient easter egg, but I think it counts.
  20. Do you mean so you can see yellow names? If so, you can go to options and set those to always visible, no need to hold down CTRL.
  21. It takes a really long time to get. When I was going for it I saw many others commenting on needing it too. I finally did catch it. I would enter the Straits map with a little time to build up stacks, but if I saw someone with lots of stacks I'd politely ask if I could partake so I'd be at higher fishing power when dusk/dawn hit, and have myself parked by the trio of fishing spots near the middle wp. I could then fish out all three holes in the 5 minute window. Eventually this worked. Of course, now there's Avid ><
  22. I think they meant inaccessible, which fits much better in their context. I've noticed that while not everyone does this, there is a notable frequency of typos that involve leaving out the negating part of a word or sentence, resulting in it meaning the exact opposite of the writer's intent. So I've learned to mentally edit in the negative part when it's obvious they meant it that way.
  23. About your PS: The required failure state has been slammed hard in these forums from pretty much the moment it showed up in game, especially as the exact same issue on the exact same event rose back in the early legendary weapon collections. And ANet posted on May 27 that the fix will be in on June 7. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/115654-updates-coming-to-zhaitan-legendary-collection-step/?tab=comments#comment-1670827 So while the complaint is certainly valid, and it's not great that the required fail was implemented or that revising the requirement needs to wait for a build, that part of your questions is already answered.
  24. Very nice, and I didn't need to clear the cache, the Hide button worked right away when I followed the link again. Thanks, gonna share this with my guild.
