  1. Well they did mix up wardens and juggernauts in the stream talking about eod characters when talking about Tetra, so I would not put it past them for mixing these two up again here. (they said on that stream that "wardens are kurzicks that underwent the ritual to become these big forrest protectors", alot of people took this as simple mistake with no reflection on the lore of the game)
  2. I sometimes try mostly because I am playing these areas as mechanist and it kinda sucks underwater, but one skiff cannot bring it down alone, it would need like 8 or more (it regenerates the charges faster than depth charge cd)
  3. Ok I find it incredibly weird that they did not mention WvW when advertising espec with features that feels like designed for zergfights, and then mention wvw on espec that I still fail to see what it is supposed to be bringing to make it a good in any part of wvw that ranger was not good at already (i.e. zergfights). That's AN for you I suppose.
  4. doing inner part removes DR than when left unchecked can cause certain groups to fail it.
  5. I must have missed the memo somewhere, on what basis was untamed supposed to be WvW spec again? (Soulbeast sounds more like wvw spec to me - between merging removing issue of pet getting nuked in zerg fights, and stance sharing, on the range that only works in groups stacked on tag, again what untamed was supposed to bring to the table to make it more wvw-ish than that?)
  6. Well that sylvari could have arrived later than commander, as between our arrival, and our recovery and release from prison, cantha manages to sent out delegation to DR, open diplomatic channels, DR manages to sent ambassador with entourage, and even snargle goldclaw manages to get his butt into cantha, which leaves quite comfy window between cantha opening borders, and us being able to actually talk to that sylvari where she could arrive and still be there for "quite a while", during conversation.
  7. Well didn't the book hint that they maybe are not exactly pursued the goal of getting rid of joko? As in, actually making sure that nothing happens to joko in predictable future? Anyway it is not like Joko didn't threaten rest of tyria which could be sort of wake up call for Shadows, and not like anyone could predict that Commander is going to gather primeval ghosts, corsairs, and forgot who else was in that "alliance".... hippie charrs? Rip a tear in reality to portal those troops from Tomb of Primeval Kings, besieges Joko in the heart of his domains, and then actually pulls off that everyone else was failing at - actually disposes the lich. Imagine you are order of spies and manipulators that started turning evil-ish, and only pretend to fight against the opressing dictator, while starting getting comfy with actually not really going for it, and then some random outlander portals in army to the middle of the country, infiltrates gandara the moon fortress, and just flat out kills that dictator. What do you do? of course you adapt to this new weird situation and try to forge something best for yourself out of it - which order of shadows actually did. I haven't ever got into the raids in the way that could allow me to actually get the story of it, my whole career in it was two attempts at wing 1, learning session of Vale Guardian, then next run that went up to sabetha but was consistently failing her dps check untill disbanding, and well I was focusing rather on learning mechanics more than what is the story supposed to be there so... I wouldn't know 😉
  8. It is not same thing - corrupting things ain't sharing, and corrupting for the sake of acumulation of more magic definitelly does not qualify for "sharing". Aurene does not just "brand" crystal bloom members, or bloomify kralk's brand, she processes magic and then put it out back into the system, as it goes instead of doing what other EDs did - consume all of it, go to sleep once there is nothing left to consume and then "bleed out" magic as certain asura has summarized sleeping primordus. We starve out Zhaitan before confronting it. Magic blasts out into leylines, and big chunk of that is being absorbed by aurene's egg parked in tarir, that was in quite close proximity, so it's not like we had no mechanism in place for this one. Tell that to Vlast, whom was being prepared by same group, for same role, was around for 2 centuries longer than aurene, happened to be in kesho during both zhaitan and mordy dying, and yet did not quite get even remotely close to achieving ascension to ED status. Except, it was quite explicitelly stated in LWS3 that distance matters (ED's closer to zhaitan/mordy's death were getting their deathyness/plantiness faster, and primordus literally moves to ring of fire islands for the sake of getting closer to where both of these two died. That is quite Explicit reason if you ask me.
  9. the question was how to survive the enviromental dot inside leviathan when you are, you know doing boss mechanic to get rid of damage reduction stacks? you can't stand ontop of the leviathan and attack it's internal weakpoints at the same time 😉 personally by being dressed in gear that provides some decent amount of vitality, and having good heal skill/defensive utilities (barrier, regen, etc.)
  10. "current stories", during LWS3 I believe
  11. Did she actually have it running by the time of flashpoint? how old that reactor is really 🤔 I have my doubts if reactor was even operational, and notice that not only there is a decent chunk of time passing between balthaar potentially killing primordus and jormag in flashpoint, and the time when they actually die, but also Aurene ascends to ED status during that time as well - Soo-won and reactor "can handle" additional load at that time (even when it starts leaking void magic into jade batteries) only because there is Aurene doing fair share of balancing on her own. And notice how quickly Soo-Won "breaks and starts going on the rampage when Aurenes share got dumped in her face to manage. (For reference on amount of time we "bought" by stopping balthy at flashpoint, from that speculated moment of death of primordy and jormag, we: 1. go to sirens landing and deal with last mursaat to see what balthy was up to next, 2. whole PoF happens 3. we deal with pof consequences, Joko, escapes domain of the lost, starts invading central tyria, 4. commander assembles alliance against the plague, and invades domain of kourna, get's rid of joko, 5. we start tackling Kralkatorik escalating with balth's magic, 6. Kralkatorik managed to dismantle mists resistance, forcing us to accelerate any plan to deal with him, this plan fails, 7. we get all the way from thunderhead to LA "because people deserve to know" 8, get back and finish off kralk, Aurene ascends to ED status, 9. Blood Legion emperor throws a party and starts subverting charr to go "get themselves their own ED" 10. We wait non-specified amount of time before blizzard stopping us from following Bangar's forces subsidies, and we got to bjora 11. after a decent chunk of time investigating bjora we get knocked out and tame again unspecified amount of time recovering 12. during that recovery charra civil wars goes from "we need to prevent it" to "is already going on for too long" Dominion get's established, united legions assemble against it 13. we again wait unspecified amount of time for ice wall across drizzlewood to disappear 14. we drop into the party just in time to see bangar re-awaken jormag after flashpoint 15. whole campaign of trying to defend against both primordy and jormag plays off, with us running around everywhere in short, expansion and two living world seasons worth of time Aurene got to prepare, and for Joon to get the whole reactor thing going at capacity where it barely handles the spike from pimordy and jormag blowing themselves up)
  12. If we let balthazar just murder all other EDs as he pleased, Aurene would not have time to grow, and take her place as an ultimate replacement ED, and soo-won would "break" very quickly. with void consuming everything shortly after pof with no one having any clue what the heck is going on. The "almost no collateral damage" of Balthazar actions is inherently flawed, because "collteral damage" we didn't hesitate about was throwing whole of Tyria away. He was told that Tyria will be destroyed if he proceeded with Omadd's machine, and yet he pushed through the plan, and even tossed out a line of how tyria does not matter to him. So unfortunatelly, but no, he had to be stopped.
  13. I have troubles understanding what OP has meant by this combination of words......
  14. "the math" was error pointed out by Ubikuo, OP basically skipped middle 0 in gossamers stack costing 6g03s and dividing the price of stack of cured hardened leather squares by 63 silvers instead of 603. Relevant "math" post is somewhere on page 2, correction post is ontop of page 3 🙂
  15. I have not found a single in-game quote to support the claim that whole cosmos was created by Soo-Won. While it was stated that "void" is basically primordial soup of everything in state of chaos, all the quotes about creation, specifically stated tyria. As far as I managed tracking there is no info on how this complements the greater cosmos (the mists) citation needed - the only time I noticed anyone in game stating "pure dragon magic" it was Taimi stating what's "powering" jade tech. If Ley magic was pure dragon magic, the whole issue of "how do we charge jade batteries now without soo-won sitting inside reactor" would not arise if ley magic was same thing. I would also like to point out that absorbing ley magic by non-dragon species is shown to be corruptive (pof bounties are "ley-energy crazed" creatures) If I were to make hypothesis on a difference between the two, I would say, that ley-line magic is stable-ish mix of the all kinds of magic, that happens when different kinds of magic are mixed in slow and orderly fashion while void is it's unstable equivalent, result of faster and chaotic mixing. The "filtering" would be finding the spontaneous sparks of disorderly mix of magic, splitting it to the base types, and then reintroducing it into flow in orderly fashion. Soon-won and her children were not great at it, because each of them was only able to split one magic from it, letting rest to chaotically affect things untill rest can do something about it. Here comes Aurene to the scene - being prismatic dragon, she can split the spectrum all at once, and then direct the resulting magic streams. It is up for question how, or why aurene manifested as prismatic dragon.
  16. Well the term "filtering" entered the stage in context of of magic consumption and "filtering" wrong types of magic out of it - in example primordus slurping on ley line should filter away all that is not fire magic, and not consume that stuff.
  17. except one of those "trolls" (I presume) has already given you this nice calculation: In which you can notice that the cost of complete crafting of full set (vipers and berserker in the end does not differ all that much between dysciplines. Heavy set being chapest to craft (despite ori, being the middle one in your pricing comparision), and the difference between cheapest and most expensive is not even 5g per set. Which is far from "15 times more expensive" and far from "ridiculous" level. "15 times more expensive" is something that sounds bad, is easy to scream your lungs about, but if you multiply dirt cheap 15 times it is still kinda cheap. And personally I would say 5g variance between weight sets is within acceptable parameters.
  18. well I dunno what kind of content you are runnign but I am not even going for all that mob-dense metas and get a decent amount of scavenger bags, and definitelly not "1 every 15 minutes" dunno you were given a bit before a breakdown of cost of crafting same statsets of armors per weight and it turned out biggest contributor to price differences were not leather soooo maybe there is something more to it than sheer price per stack....
  19. Fair, but I don't think there is similar trick for Raptor, or skyscale 🙂
  20. I am not using NVIDIA gpu, and I think that "texture corruption" was rather pointing towards the fact that sometimes, some textures on DX11 rendered would not render at all (leaving whole area where said texture should be as pure black) currently playing on AMD Vega 8 if memory serves (GPU integrated into Ryzen 5s CPUs), and tbh I have never tried to purposefully reproduce it.
  21. So numerously I caught myself thinking, that it would be nice to have mount fight beside you after dismounting, but was thinking that pve-only global feature like that migh have had a little bit too many issues to pull off successfully, but how about ability to let rangers use the mounts as their pet? Mechanist's Mech already shows that AN could be willing to allow a pet in this size scale. I am mainly thinking here about pof era mounts, I don't see skiff pet being feasible, and as far as siege turtles go, we already have pet equivalent. Not exactly sure how feasible it would be to have mount customisation to apply to the "pet" version of the mount.
  22. They said they have fixed "texture corruption bug" but it does not mean they have managed to fix all the possible rendering bugs that may sound close to it. in particular the one I stated is not tied to texture in itself, but the dye channel on on a handfull of things. mine often deploys as mono-darkish-red only to load the colours once I mount it
  23. 1. This was literally my first post in this thread, and I just said "I love how <insert commentary on quality of discourse so far>" and then stated that I don't disagree with claim that mechanist is overtuned but I find idea of it breaking the game funny. How exactly do you try to twist that into "screaming"? 2. You shared someone elses video, as response to share your own. Video which you then tried to compare to other videos from same author and claim that "leght of time for a kill" is definitive number that quantify the build against other builds. And then started going "moving goalposts" when people pointed out that "lenght of time to kill that particular hero challenge" is in no way quantifiable metric to fullfill a criteria of "challenge" you were trying to respond to. 3. conversation wether espec is balanced or not is always legitimate for every espec in the game at any moment in my opinion, but not every argument is. Issue here is that the claim of the thread is not just if mechanist is "properly balanced" it is flat out acusation that it is so overpowered it "breaks the game". And such extraordinary claim requires a little bit more backing to it, than I have seen in this thread so far to be fair.
  24. well the mastery lets you use a sliver of their magic while in the sirens landing, and it was large scale effects derived from each of the human gods.
  25. not sure if it was 45 minutes, but it was very fun experience indeed 🙂
