  1. well on reveal stream of jade bots, they said they rigged jade bot animations to a skill FX, which to my knowledge is same framework they use for mechs, kits and turrets, so if that framework now support skins, there is hope they will start making skins for these as well πŸ™‚
  2. The one neat thing that alot of people don't realize, that gems in the currency exchange have been payed for by someone else - the ystsem is basically this: you have two boxes, one has gems other has gold, when someone buys the gems for gold, the gold land into the gold box, and gems are withdrawn from it, if you buy gold with gems, you put the gems into the gems box, and withdraw gold from gold box, and conversion rates are determined by the ratio of gold and gems within their respective boxes. So aside from initial stockpile to get the system running in the first place, the fact that you can buy 200 gems for those approx 60g, means that people have paid for gems, to toss it into the gem box you are taking them out of πŸ˜‰ Conversion rates could have gone haywire for a bit..... The real question is how many people out there are willing to buy the skin at this price, unfortunatelly there is a chance, that enough of people, not visiting forums or other social platforms outside of the game, did buy the thing to the point where additional sales from lower price mark, would not be able to beat the end profits. I would hope it is not a case, but the possibility exists πŸ˜•
  3. synergetics gyrocycle roller bettle skin, and whatever jade bot skin are never going to be same "value", so I am sort of baffled they are both priced the same....
  4. Disconnected after a cutscene? I've had this one at one point, and google search pointed me to ancient by now thread on previous forums, where some networking folks decided to troubleshoot it, and they arrived at conclusion that issue happens on a very specific series of routers (like not even specific models, mind you) and they "fix" they proposed was to ask ISP for new modem/router device. Worked for me when I had this issue.
  5. This was brought a couple times, specifically as a potential counter to zerg stacking as a strat, and the most popular counterpoint I recall seeing was - too much of a server strain, to track player collisions. GW1 had much less players per instance (or other entities likely to collide) so it was much less straining there.
  6. Fair point for Arah, because that was so specific place I forgot it was a thing. Ranger I have seen in at least one cof p2 record speedrun in the composition, don't recall guardian there (could be in some others) Generally as far as vanilla dungeons are concerned stability was rarely actually needed, reflects were the case of couple specific encounters in a number of paths where it could cheese the boss. Aegis and Blinds, both are defensive utilities, and those were generally underappreciated in the meta back then. Mesmers felt approx as situational to me back then as guardians - they could allow party to skip some otherwise mildly annoying bits of some paths, but that's about it. Thieves I remember mostly by rezzing them over and over and over on my ranger in pug dungeon runs.....
  7. To be fair I do not recall anything I would "not like" about GW2 when I started playing it πŸ˜‰ The first thing I didn't like came a bit later with the fractals introductionπŸ˜‰
  8. Well there were a number of people complaining about it back then, I've met even couple that have quite the game over it, while going full on haters on AN for audacity of making base game free with HoT release. Some going as far as ridiculous claim of theft on AN side. I mean personally I wouldn't even mind if they removed gem-gate from LWS completely, (even tho I did purchase some of episodes with gems), but I can imagine alot of people being too selfish to see it as a good thing.
  9. You are just digging your credibility lower in here. The only place in "meta" guardian had in vanilal day was in wvw as glorified stability and swiftness machine. That was it. PvE? Warriors, Eles, Necroses, ocasional ranger, hardly place for a guardian, and even if it made into the comp it was for that might from the staff, and even then this was easy to replace with virtually anything. And funny how you completely ignored the fact you were literally responding to a RANGER MAIN but still felt need to repeat the "it's only delusional mains themselves", as if it was some "I win" card. as for stating guardian to be "best class in GW2" - best in what, and best when, are big important factors there. Were they best for whole of game history? - no they were bad in most of things for big chunk of it, then got okaish, and only after PoF they got actually good. Are they best DPS rn? rofl no. Are they best healers? as far as I keep track of it - no, not really. Are they best at role compression? arguably yes, firebrand can do multiple roles in a group, and be good enought at it to allow for more dedicated dps slots in the composition. Are they best in role versatility? probably, on paper you could do a guardian build for every role, even if guardians as alac providers are kinda bad (but technically speaking possible)
  10. The existance of prologue, means that bjora marches, does not really count as "start" of the season tho, at least not in my book.
  11. Tell me you didn't play during vanilal GW2 without telling me you didn't play during vanilla GW2. Your "still best" during that period was glorified stability machine for wvw, and scoffed at in any PvE. It didn't have DPS, might from the staff was underappreciated during that period, and pve didn't need stability at all. Warriors and Elementalists were the backbone of PvE meta back then. And for a while before target caps for skills, Elementalists were dominating WvW scene as well - there should still be videos on the internet from back then of 4 elementalists vanquishing whole zergs, by exploiting lack of target cap, and CC-able chokepoints. And before you try to pull the "guardian main trying to cope" card again - I am in fact a ranger main πŸ˜›
  12. none of these two happened "at the start of the next season" πŸ˜›
  13. I was playing with firebrand since somewhere around first half of LWS4, guardian since 17th of April 2013 and I don't have "kp.me" setup at all. (and I am very confident that they do not have api keys necessary to pull any data on me from GW2 API, so good luck finding me there at all) I have seen guardians being nerfed over and over again for 9 years now, with grand majority of "buffs" being either release of new espec, or mechanical changes that just happened to benefit guardians by accident. And I am tired of seeing people whom have seemingly learned that guardian exists one firebrand got popular, now claiming that it was always OP and never nerfed. On a side note - I definitelly agree with premise of this thread - if condibrands (and/or condi-quickbrands) were overperforming, then nerfing base class, without any compensations to core guards/dragonhunters/willbenders for the DPS lost is bad way to go on about balance. if you don't care then why waste your (and everyone else's) energy on writing the post then? I am sure that you would benefit greatly from spending time on things you care about as opposed to things you do not.
  14. because asura and their magitech predates steam creatures in the history of this franchise πŸ˜›
  15. Personally I don't care abut skin itself, as much as implications that it existing in the first place have. Remember that they said that jade bots visuals are rigged to skill effects. The same skill effects that have been quoted "not easy to make customisations for" when people asked for skins for turrets, minions, and so forth. So assuming that this remark from devs was accurate, existance of jade bot skins, means they have managed to develop tech neccessary to allow skins for those skin effects, which means that turrets, minions, spirits, (mech?) etc. skins are just UI work away from being possible. And that would be something I would be eager to see in the game.
  16. as I mentioned I don't recall exact point where it happened, but I am very sure that there was a point where I had a feeling that he has moved on and we good with him now, only for him to shift back to angry avenging teenager mode at the start of next season.
  17. My memories of details are also not top notch since it has been a while, but it was either between LWS3/POF and LWS4 or between LWS4 and IBS. Basially vibes were that Braham have finally managed to get over events of HoT, and reconcile with commander at the end of one season, and by the start of the next he is back again at "muh moma died I angry at commandur" mode just as if half of previous season didn't happen.
  18. I mean I could totally built you a custom made PC that looks exactly like one of the pre-made models on the books stores, so the same could apply to jade mechs.
  19. I would personally still want that window to display cosmetic infusions (not even stats of them or whatever, just the infusion type) because alot of interesting outfits I have seen get's interesting because of interesting blend of those.
  20. I personally don't hate braham, he was ok character from my experience of the story, the only-main issue I had with him is how writers forgot at some point that they already did character development on him, and effectively backtracked him out of it.... PS. I actually liked Trahearne, and I actually liked Kormir. Feel free to do whatever you want with that knowledge.
  21. according to the mechanist NPC - those are not out of Joon's workshop, but custom made by those engineers πŸ˜‰ The difference is that mounts had wardrobe UI and dyes from the get go, and mechs are rigged to a different framework, and having skins for them would require some additional engineering that we have no indication AN has ever made, and would open the floodgates of alot of requests for "let me be able to change the look of XYZ ability/pet/turret/whatever". Not saying it ain't gonna happen, just saying that at the state of what we know so far, it ain't so clear-cut given.
  22. yes, but you can share those boons while stacked whenever in the boss arena, not necesarily at boss face (or butt in some encounters) and I have specifically said "for the most of game history"..... as far as I keep track, the post EOD situation of purely ranged specs performing close enough or better on actual bosses than their melee equivalent is something somewhat new for this game. Oh and there were a couple moments when some raiding guild were doing "all ranged" runs (for memes and giggles) and in a number of those runs, the stack was not in fact in it's usual boss-hugging position, but further away. and it was during some of those runs for example, that some guilds managed to find surprise safespots for some of raid bosses... safespots AN then consequently have patched out πŸ˜‰ Anyway due to prevalence of melee superiority in the past, grand most of squads either of us in here is likely to participate will be placed right up there on the boss, which was my point. and alot of mechanics on a substantial amount of those missions is being circumvented by bringing biggest DPS. And there is a number of encounters where the mechanic revolves around having enough squad DPS (so called "DPS check")
  23. That's ironic considering that out of canonical groups called "guild" we have seen in GW2 story so far, both of them were like.... 5 members?
  24. As far as PvE scene goes, whole group stacking at the face of the boss is due to the fact that for the most of game history, melee was able to output considerable higher DPS, so all of group strats were developped around keeping relevant boss in melee range. If that was not the case alot of strikes/raids would have seen the main stack positioned further away.
  25. I guess the clip I have seen could have been modified to make it look like john snow being ballista'ed off the wall, so I can give you this one back.
