  1. We've established a villain (the mind altering creature), and we have established stakes (a source of Jade that runs under a leyline, potentially solving Cantha's energy crisis).
  2. Didn't Anet do an update that made it harder to fake legendary insight links? I think that was a glancing show of support.
  3. I mean, if they go down this route, they may as well make a /kp command. Like /kpvale or /kpvg would result in a chat emote like "*insert username here* has killed vale guardian xx times." Because I honestly think "KP" belongs in a guildhall storage. xD
  4. The notice says any GPU made after 2009 can probably handle DX11. I'd be interested to know if this is true, and more interested to know what this means for players running the game on a "poor persons" integrated graphics card.
  5. I enjoy the JP. Contrary to popular opinion, I enjoy smoking norns and charr out the gate. It's an incentive to skip this jump and cut that corner, else I'll never see where I'm jumping!
  6. Even without the skyscale, I've never had an issue finding a good place to afk or rest/type. Just look for a corner, preferably elevated or even a cliffside. There are also "quiet" spaces on expansion maps where mobs don't spawn and events don't occur. Chances are, unless you go afk directly after killing a mob or event, you probably won't come back dead.
  7. Movement speed is an important way to keep combat balanced. I remember someone showing me a toy axe which could be combined with an Engi's superspeed to travel vast distances. Not quite as fast as a raptor, but it comes pretty kitten close and is great in dungeon clears.
  8. I'd probably spend 50-60$ to get a personal story that doesn't break (there are cursed routes, bombing the towers in sparkfly fen), and to stop Hodgins (Ascalon Catacombs, P1) from agro'ing everything. There's a lot of broken/easily broken things in the core game I'd like to see fixed or modernized, and it's depressing that it's a more or less a pipe dream because "spaghetti code".
  9. How can it be improved? Anet failed to get into the Esports scene, and with the breakdown of general class archetypes/builds soloq kinda feels like lucking out with the better team build synergy which you have to blind guess since nobody in pvp is extroverted except tilted flamers.
  10. Great. Lemme just "like" a post from a year ago. That's a great way to represent my viewpoint, because I trust Anet reps and players to read old threads to check for new waves of support /s
  11. Doesn't matter what it adds, it just means there is still interest in the idea. That in and of itself is an important reason to post.
  12. I suppose selling a revamped core gw2 expansion that removes speghetti code excuses is out of the cards.
  13. If I can read a name on the forum and know their response before reading it, I figure that person is fair game for ridicule. Bonus points if said person gives low effort responses like "I prefer resources to be spent elsewhere", or "This thread has been posted before". Unhelpful responses like this are kinda off topic, encourages necro'ing threads (which I believe is against the rules), and generally gets pretty grating after awhile.
  14. Could you play skyrim without mods, or use a "preset" character? No! If the option is there, and it must be done, no matter the cost! xD It's my mentality towards games, and simply saying "don't" wouldn't work if such a feature existed.
  15. In reality though, I just spent 4 hours overthinking what to write, only to figure out I didn't like it. It's definitely an anti-fun experience akin to installing skyrim mods or character creators with excessive choice. I just wanna play the game, dammit!
  16. I don't see why you can't just talk to people. Join a map chat, break the ice in a fractal, hell I met a chill strike buddy because I was doing some very unsportsmanlike behavior in pvp. There really are all sorts of players out there just looking for a good time. Also, Runescape added this forever ago, and I think I mostly ignored it.
  17. As much as I'd like more content centered around the little girl we gave poppies to in pre-searing, isn't this kinda distant history by this point?
  18. I kinda agree. It used to be that you'd log in and find 12 silverwaste lfg's and many dungeon/fractal groups (usually distinguished by casual or speedrunner). Nowadays you have so much choice of content that the game feels empty (esp in off peak hours or holidays), unless you do a world boss run. Involving mass group content in personal story probably isn't a great idea.
  19. I suspect I'd work on gemstore ideas, promise wvw updates and organise the next expansion. Whatever keeps the lights on.
  20. I think the cat ears fad is more around the cat ears headband, rather than having actual cat ears, so I think that's a pass. Is a fake tail any different? I'll leave that for smarter people to decide.
  21. If this was base gw2, I'd say it wouldn't fit the aesthetic. Nowadays, we have cat ears, elf ears, plushie mounts, and can cosplay as christmas trees. So, why not? For charr who already have a tail, it could be an opportunity to change the aesthetics of said tail.
  22. Close to 20% reduction isn't what I'd call small, and "only 15k" adds up to 105k over a week. Thing about being a capitalist is that we tend to dislike increases in production costs since it eats into the final revenue.
  23. Dreamer was my first, followed by Exordium and Shining blade, but I mainly got them as a status symbol. Aurora, the fractal backpack, the seasons of dragons amulet and two legendary sigils (for changing between night, impact, air, etc) are my practical goals. So far I have the first two.
  24. I genuinely want to use the laugh emoji when a post makes me laugh, but I get the feeling it comes off as sarcastic. Kinda wish "confused" was the only community accepted mocking emote.
