  1. Unless you're super invested in ranger spirits or warrior banners, nothing really changed. I think that's why people are so miffed.
  2. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dinosaur It seems there were some in Sparkfly Fen / Far Shiverpeaks/ Tarnished Coast (Maguuma). As for why we don't see them in gw2, there are a number of reasons Anet could cite - maybe they went extinct after the rising of orr, the commander just doesn't happen to meet any in their travels, or the Asura eradicated them for food/security/science.
  3. Stoneheads exist. Plus, who knows? In a land of wyverns and saurians, maybe Jurassic park exists beyond the maguuma?
  4. I kinda agree. I love lorekeeper weapons, but I'm not sold on the golden aftertrail.
  5. Kinda reminds me of Elsword. Sure, you could unlock your master class through 3 days of grind (if you're lucky), or you could just shell out 10 bucks to skip the process. It feels predatory. The only upside is that you can only unlock skyscale once, and you already need to shell out for all episodes of lws4 to unlock.
  6. I'd say the difference is that an efficient group will take steps to improve efficiency (practice, explain, adapt), while an elitist group has their way or the highway.
  7. Well, at least long range shot got buffed. *shrugs*
  8. Have you considered playing Condi Shortbow Soulbeast? Sure, you lose a bit of range, but if you're going to camp a bow, Shortbow will probably give you the best bang for your buck (even if you compare it to Dragonhunter, who practically never use bows). It looks a little like this. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Soulbeast_-_Condi_Shortbow_DPS
  9. If we could access instances through the guild portal, that'd be neat. That way we could get new guild missions with expacs, but not have to segrigate the guild based on who has what expansion.
  10. I mean, if Dungeon stories were actually interesting (the cut scenes at least), I'd be down for watching them. But the problem is that it's usually just two characters talking about the most pointless stuff in the most roundabout manor. The only thing I make sure to watch is Logan saving Rytlock in CoF, because that scene is lit. I personally think it's more useful to slow down a little and explain/demonstrate how a dungeon can be speedrun. Letting people do their own thing is great when it works, but can be horridly unpleasant when it doesn't and can lead to stalls/ragequits. Everyone has a better time when experienced members take charge.
  11. The OP's concern is that strike missions look visually uninteresting, are mechanically simple and lack the environmental storytelling of a raid. I'm on the fence about this topic. Complicated environments tend to put people off (think back to the first strike, and how many people you see struggle with the JP), and people afraid of 10 man content could use all the ego boosting the can get.
  12. Chances are that meta squad is on the same instance (or full). Until Anet adds a way to freely choose your instance, this argument's logic is questionable in practice, since you can't actively dodge worlds inhabited by meta lovers or fishing groups without co-ordinated help (like how the triple trouble guild seeds bloodtide coast with players to find empty maps).
  13. In an ideal world, I'd have gw1 remade more like a single player rpg like Dragon's Dogma than gw2( more or less a graphics overhaul with an emphasis on removing loading zones outside of cities/instances to make an organic sandbox where refusing to travel the roads at night isn't just for roleplay, with limited online function like creating and sharing pawns/heroes).
  14. It's fun to read what other people headcannon, but it's best not to expect anything lavish or complicated from Anet. Once you get a read on the tone of the story, usually the most simplest answer will be the one the design team went with. Progressive leaders "going too far" in pushing their reforms/political machinations isn't a vogue story thread atm (as opposed to combatting those stupid stuck-in-the-past nationalists). Joon never struck me as particularly evil (Taimi trusts her, and she's a walking plot device so she's a reliable narrator). If anything, Joon's denial of reality had me recalling my college science classes where my teacher went ballistic when I "interfared" with his unsupervised (mildly unsafe) project, and I really got those sorts of "how dare you" sulky vibes after blowing up Joon's reactor.
  15. Read the title and assume the mod in question didn't read the topic, or understand what was being asked for.
  16. I think zhaitan's story is fine. Sure, the story comes off a little slow during replays, but the first time experience is awesome with an airship fleet battle followed by a big kitten heroes moment. Gunning down Zhaitan also feels a lil bit epic (I think fleet cannons make more sense than telling a dragon to 1v1 me in ur mind so I can mindcrush you bruh). For me, where the story shows its age is the abundant powercreep over the last 7 or so years. The Eye of Zhaitan loses all credibility when it's defeated before finishing its villainous pre-fight taunts.
  17. Weird, I thought Mantra of Pain was the default power mesmer dps utility (though usually the first to be swapped out if you need utility).
  18. We already have the option to show outgoing damage, although unless you're a literal robot or are waxing off to your bladesworn 130k dragon trigger crit, damage per hit is just meaningless chat spam. I think updating "outgoing damage" to covert the messages to damage per second instead of damage per strike/tick (kinda like the raid training golems) could be neat.
  19. I can't think of any prominent interracial couples. That being said, if it were to happen anywhere, it'd be either in Lions Arch, the Pact/Orders, or the Lionguard since they're basically ethnic melting pots. That being said, I thought the Asura/Krytans were worried about extinction?
  20. I mean, Skritt largely live underground caves, and it appears earth and rock can mitigate or block Kralkatorik's corruption (as seen with Sun's Refuge). As such, it's creatures that usually live above ground or in shallow buildings/tunnels (like Charr, devourers, Humans, Ogres and the like) that're the most vulnerable.
  21. I have a few. Can the Sons of Svanir be more than skirt hating scumbags who impale themselves on any dragon artifact they come across? We get hints of black and grey when it comes to the inquest, but it feels like the other "evil" racial factions are just cartoon stupid evil. Killing Tybalt/Forgal/Sieran at level 60 was a mistake - I get that their deaths are meant to be the big wake up call that lead to the creation of the pact, but we just didn't get a replacement for them (Traehearne was a poor replacement, and everyone else was either brief acquaintances or dead by the end of the story arc). The season 1 recap (or lack thereof) made LWS2 and HoT really hard to jump into (YAY! I killed a dragon with Destiny's Edge! Now I'm time skipping to being in a team with some tweens, a toddler, and her assist mech? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE?! xD) Belinda. Oh, boy, I really couldn't have been more apathetic during Jory's big character defining moment at Fort Salma - which leads to a huge disconnect between me and Jory every time she had screen time (particularly how she always spent her screen time bickering with Kas).
  22. I kinda feel like maps like Dragons End and Dragons Stand are so special because they have an hour's build up into the boss fight. But, I do agree, a 30 minute playtime does feel like you can't accomplish anything if you're not into daily repetitive grind.
  23. I mean, did Kasmeer/Jory ever develop a bond with Caithe? AFAIK they only know Caithe through LWS2, when Caithe was still the enemy (Think LWS2, HoT or LWS3, when the commander was VERY hostile towards Caithe). I (sort of) enjoy Braham's character. He's young, emotional, and he does what he believes is right - but unlike certain other "independent" members of Dragons Watch (*cough* Jory), he actually gets kitten done when offscreen. It's the same reason why I like Joon - these npc's are independent characters who can make irrational emotional decisions based on their circumstance, which makes them feel more organic.
  24. Thief is probably the premier class that can get away with using berserkers anywhere. Invigorating Precision, Bandit's Defense, Healing Signet and Staff auto's are just that stronk (Dagger/Pistol 5-2 combo can also get you out of a lot of trouble while leveling, but dagger 5 into backstab also works).
  25. Zhaitan Dies/ LWS1 begins in 1326. LWS2 is 1327 HoT is in 1328. PoF is in 1330. LWS4 is in 1331. IBS begins in 1332 and ends in 1334. EoD is 1335. I assume a Tyrian year is roughly the same as an earth year.
