  1. Pistol skills 1. Harbinger bullets shouldn't bounce they should splash. 2. Harbinger bullets shouldn't pierce the should infect and spread. 3. Shattering is acceptable.
  2. I'm one of the people who asked for repeatable hearts and I agree with this. In my mind hearts would reset after a few weeks not daily and the idea that they would lock the vendor never occurred to me at all.
  3. What if there was a 3% chance per stack of blight that attackers would also be infected by blight?
  4. Did anyone else click on this expecting the first comment to be blank?
  5. Could elixirs be used to deliver blight to your target? So like in addition to the buff you get, your target also suffers from 5 stacks of blight for like 3 seconds? If timed well it could make a difference in both pvp and pve. I'd like to add this idea along with the idea that the heal should convert a little bit of blight into lifeforce and that all elixirs could be ammo skills. Hmm might be to much when you put it all together. Maybe then instead of an ammo skill the elixirs have a flip over; first you drink then you throw. Throwing would put the skill on a higher cool down.
  6. I was wondering if the heal should convert blight into lifeforce. Also wondering if elixirs would be more interesting as ammo skills.
  7. I think you have the tools to answer your own question. Consider what the artist was trying to communicate and also what problems were they trying to solve. Though you may disagree the style it does what it needs to do functionally and I think most of the environmental artistic decisions communicate what was intended.
  8. I wonder if they could somehow merge identical fields if they overlap. Like two fire fields become one fire field. Just extend the duration of the most recent one based on the time left of the oldest.
  9. Perhaps, but can you build a whole spec around that? I guess you could make the thief version of spellbreaker but targeted at melee users; so instead of a saboteur as mentioned earlier but more of a disrupter?
  10. Seems to me that williebinder and harbinger both ensure that spellbreaker remain relevant.
  11. I hope you're right. I want them to really stretch far in what a thief can do. Honestly, I don't want to cover ground that's already been covered. Now there's three versions of of dual swords; warrior, revenant, and willis we can play any of those to get that experience. Warrior and ranger have axes and great swords covered. Maces and Hammer are antithetical to being a thief (though I will accept a spec based on the Dimensional Anchor). That leaves me wishing for something magical. Not that the thief can cast magic but make use of magical items like a focus. I want to see a version of the thief through the mesmer lens using small subtle magic with a focus on misdirection, trickery, and slight of hand. That's my hope. Guess we have to wait and see what we actually get.

  13. Trust me thief mains are already watching the necro and guardian mobility with ... great interest. Warriors with dual skill would be ok and it makes since for weapon masters to eventually catch on.
  14. My theory is Warrior gets off hand pistol AND thief's dual wield mechanic. Would you stick around if that happened?
  15. That icon might represent a new element altogether and not torch. Maybe the new class mechanic is access to 5 elements instead of just 4.
  16. Maybe the diamond flame things is for elementalist. It looks like the the headgear when you start a new character. Warrior will probably get a pistol because, what else is left. I suspect they might get thief's dual wield mechanic too. That would mean they would be using the bullet icon. That leaves thieves with Angry Face. The question is Angry Face a samurai or oni? Samurai could mean 2handed sword. Oni mask could mean focus. I'm leaning towards focus and that thief will get access to fear because it's weirder and they are being weird this time around.
  17. Hmm off hand burst skills is an idea worth exploring. If you ignore the new weapon and two handers there would be 5 new burst skills. I can see them building a spec around that.
  18. So we have a Mesmer with no clones and a dual wielding guardian. At this rate I expect a non shadowsteping hammer thief. Anet's going crazy!
  19. Savage! I run kick on my spellbreaker so I have a reason to leap with my dagger.
  20. Shortbow druid with a focus on immobilizing. Loads of fun but probably very inefficient.
  21. Everyone above me is ridiculous... and I love it.
  22. This is convincing. Now I have no idea at all what direction they are taking the thief. Should be fun to see everything roll out.
  23. I played a hammer warrior for a long time. It's not good out of the box but if you build for quickness and take the hammer trait in Strength and Martial Cadence in Tactics it can work well. You have to fully commit, casual hammer usage will just suck. There are two problems with warrior hammer (I don't know much about the other classes) 1. The concept of a big heavy slow weapon in a game that rewards speed and reaction time doesn't work well. 2. The animations. #1 could be addressed if they used the bottom of the pommel as a strike point on the back swing. It would speed up some of the animations and make usage more fluid. Also might help just to acknowledge that warrior hammer is not about dps. It can do some surprising spikes but it's more about control. In that vein, it would be really helpful if stability and un-blockable was added to the skill set; natively not though traits.
  24. I'm not so sure the crossed swords are the thief icon. I think it might be for the guardian because guardians don't dual wield. Since Anet is making a big deal about breaking rules it would be appropriate. I think it might be the flame diamond thing. It doesn't have to mean torch but it could mean they are doing something different with initiative.
