  1. Only took me 2 Dragonfall metas for skimmer's underwater, i also get good loots along the way so before you complaint, think "am i doing it wrong?"Another thing.......you don't have to re-grind....you can keep what you put time in to get........If something is tedious, its best to stop every now and then, you will get it eventually
  2. People just need to get better, no! I'm not saying this as an elite, but someone who is willing to learn from past mistake to improve, dumbing everything down further won't encourage growth.Having trouble beating an enemy? See what you did wrong and learn the enemy attack pattern, for example: smokescale! Either block or double evade and when it use smoke just lure it out!Although i must say, enemies in HoT are easier with range than melee, except for that frog which has been nerfed
  3. I love the concept of underwater combat but what killed it for me is the pacing and melee difficultyUnlike on land, you don't use your movement that much which for melee turn into take turn slapping each other until one of you die, it's long and tediousThrow in the wide open space mean you have to constantly elevate yourself to the enemy level. Also there aren't any traits unique for underwater, few skills can't be use underwater make some builds useless which is unfortunate for group underwaterI really wish the new expansion will fix these issues but i have my doubt
  4. Well i see an alternative way to get legendary equipment by playing the game mode you like, and i'm not like those PvE'er that want Gift of Battle removed from WvW, No! You still need to farm PvEBefore PvP/WvW armor, i can either raid or don't raid, but now i have more options. For weapons, where else can you get them beside PvE? Adding wvw weapons now might be a bit late but still a nice alternate option for WvW'ers. The only problem i see here is that while PvE'ers have to grind or bought from TP for a precursor, WvW'er can just play for 1 week to get a precursor What kind of logic is that? Some of the precursors are below 100g. You could easily get that in below one week of PvE, even less than half a day if you play this game like a job and only in high gold/hour zones. There's also plenty of people that convert gems to gold because their time is more valuable than the average player.Well i apply this logic as someone who has little time and also doesn't want to spend money so forgive my ignorance When did i "assume" that? I only said getting a precursor in WvW would take 1 week, no RNG no gem/gold no tp, you also need 3 days to craft grandmaster marks (who would play for 4 weeks just to get 1 mark?) it took me 4 weeks for 1 armor piece so i know how time consuming it is

  6. Similar to legendary armors, you can get legendary weapons without needing to do PvE most of the time, i'll be fine with it since i only care about easy stats swapping.
  7. Wait wait wait what? So you sold them after being full for money but it's not rewarding? If they were bloodstone dust, the blue star fragment, round yellow thing then there are items that can eat them for loot bags, if they are wood log, ore, leather section you should refine them, and if they are vial of blood, totem, claw etc..etc.. believe me, you can't forget about these because sooner or later You will have use them for exotic, achievement, legendary craftingAnd if they are mithril ore, elder wood log, blue T5 silk and T5 leather section, you can create a ascended mats per day for stuffs like grandmaster mark, crafting ascended armor or precursor craftingYou think crafting in gw2 was tedious and unfun? Wohoho, wait till you try SwtorYah.....crafting is very important if you want to get great stuff so i don't see how "the game doesn’t give it the attention it needs" Do you want the game to pester the player to make ascended gear every time they log in?
  8. I remember when people complained about how pitiful the barrier was when it first released, hoooo boy
  9. Some people prefer "generic" realistic options to Neon RGB or exclusively High Fantasy. And some other people prefer a bit more creative, Anet should have added a slider to reduce the visual cluster but if you take out the infusion gw2 ain't that neon RGB
  10. After all if you are a Blood legion Charr, you used to be under his command and eventually become The Pact Commander which, I believe, is the same rank as a Tribune. Since he's mostly with us instead of his legion, i'd hoped we get to share the "good ol' day" in Grothmar Valley and said "but don't expect me to call you Sir"Do any of that happen in Season 1?
  11. Mordremoth? Huh...he always come of as a cartoony villain to me
  12. What do you think about it now?! I can't waiiiiitttt!!! Hmm.....underwater skimmer? Jade Sea?? Are you teasing me Anet?!
  13. So i checked the purchase page, you get ice brood saga too so not all episodes are locked, and Living world bundle ARE CURRENTLY ON SALE!! So buy them already! but i'm just gonna leave this here for all rant about the "episodic paywall" Do you know Elder Scroll Online? The game that you pay 60$ (price taken from steam) then another 15$ a month to access all DLCs, and the game DON'T have currency exchange, you need to give gold to a stranger for a DLC gift, and expect to get scammed When gw2 give away episodes for free just by logging on the day of it release, make me wonder why a small company like Anet would do such thing and not Zenimax Online, because of this if you don't pay in ESO you will never experience the full story which are separated between DLCs, not only that unless you buy with crown you will need to re-sub every month to continue playing in those zones I bought Season 2 using gold i got by just playing the game, and that is my rant about these complaints, you don't like it? Fine but, imo, this is more fair than a triple A company, i can imagine you would make the same post on ESO
  14. You forgot to mention that due to mount, enemies range in PoF and it's episodes are bigger now, so you get gang up easily, and when you just about to finish off that one enemy? It go invulnerable and run back to it spawn point because it strayed too far away!!!
  15. I think I'll count how many people dancing on fenceposts I see. Or will be an equally valid benchmark for whether or not core Tyria has any challenge. Nobody ever told you that Queensdale is the human newbie area, I suspect. Maybe, just maybe, it isn't supposed to be littered with dying newbies? Maybe, just maybe, that's probably a good thing? Why in all existence are you or anyone looking for challenge in bloody Queensdale anyway? You want challenge? I will walk with you on foot across all the HoT maps, and you're going to kill everything we come across while I watch. You get downed, we start over at the beginning of the map. How long do you suppose it'll take us to get to DS? First of all, I've been playing the game for many years and have over 22 Gifts of Exploration. I've been through all the core maps many different types on all kinds of different characters, classes, and builds, including just random items I looted. I've done everything both easy mode and "hard mode" to keep it fresh while getting GoE, so I have a good understanding of it all. One of the number one complaints about the game from new players is that its boring because the core maps are very generic in difficulty. This is partially justified by the fact that part of the game is F2P, but people who buy the game they have a slow time getting to HoT/PoF and often just boost and jump straight to the expansions because while Central Tyria is full of wonderful amounts of lore, secrets and other gems, no one wants to spend 80 levels facing basically no challenge. Its also why people are so easily overwhelmed the first time they go to dungeons or Fractals because they mentally go "Wait, the game's actually like this? Then what've I been playing all this time?" Same for expansion areas, adventures, etc. There's a huge difficulty gap between it all. I understand the starter zones are supposed to be easy. But the entire game from 1-80 is a tutorial-not-tutorial. It suceeeds at being so easy for players that it doesn't actually teach them anything, either. Just how to autoattack to win. Add in high-level players with bad downscaling and the "difficulty" becomes even worse, with newbies unable to even touch a mob and get credit before some downscaled player annihilates it in 1-2 hits with their mount and autoattack. This is one of the reasons why people avoid Event Completer dailies at all costs, unless there's no other daily to do to complete the set of three. And if you think I'm alone on this, use forum search to find very long threads about NPE nerfs and other related issues. And I spend most of my free time either running T3/T4 Fractals with only two people (often soloing the bosses myself), or commanding squads in WvW, so I'd advice you not to challenge me to anything. Besides, the things I'm saying here aren't just my personal experiences but those of guildmates and friends I invited to the game but left for these same reasons. Queensdale 2 ez, needs moar tuff. I can eat six burritos at once, so you know I'm a credible source of information on this subject. You're the one challenging people to things that aren't challenging. Just be glad you didn't embarrass yourself by going through with it. LoL Queensdale 2 ez, needs more tuff. Hurr durr HoT hard. I challenge you to walk through it! Am I speaking your language now, champ? You died trying to do it, didn't you. Don't be bitter. Strange, did I miss the part where this thread turned towards general animosity? Wow, you are even less likeable than my own forum persona - and that says a lot. Grats on that I guess. You missed the part where it is loudly and proudly stated that Ascended/Legendary gear is too OP and that a fully decked out character just can't find any challenges in Queensdale these days. maybe that's the point ... No one missed that ... it just doesn't make sense. Clearly, you haven't considered the character progression factor here. The point is that Queensdale, a newbie zone, should be challenging for people in full ascended/leggies? I am so done with this thread and some of the more...distinguished personalities here. I'm off to Queensdale in search of my endgame challenges. Woe if I do not find them there of all places! Queensdale must challenge me, or this game is broken and I, as the representative of all new players everywhere, shall declare this game dead and broken! That'll show you. the purpose of downscaling is to make the game harder for high lvl characters, so you can replay the content with a good challenge, so yeah queendale is too easy for lvl 80 full ascended characters and downscaling is not working as intended. now ascended gears make even HoT easy. if the game is too easy even for newbies is another question and thread.Since they didn't disable traits while you were there, even with blue armor, traits make lower Level zones easy
  16. I have not seen a single suggestion thread in which this nonsense doesn't rear its head multiple times. If we constantly tell them to spend their resources elsewhere, they'll never use them on anything. I also never see anyone suggest what they should spend their time on instead. Imagine Anet add a brand new cool weapon but is unusable to your favorite profession because game balance, fun fun fun!
  17. i can face tank any champ/legendary without moving a finger as firebrand, i think the only "hard" mob on core game is the spider queen And what about other classes? What about them? Every class can facetank champions if they build for it. It might not be an efficient way of taking enemies down, but the kit is there if you want to use it. A more reasonable approach is to take a build that isn't intentionally played like a potato, though. So you're saying that use class's skills, attribute combinations correctly are important and not relies ascended gears?
  18. i can face tank any champ/legendary without moving a finger as firebrand, i think the only "hard" mob on core game is the spider queen And what about other classes?
  19. And have you tried fighting Elite or even Champion solo instead of trash mob? Fight the champion bandit in queendale, even with full ascended gears, you will loose if you face tank all of it's attacks instead of dodging.
  20. No downed state would also make many support skills/traits that meant to revive become obsolete, now i'm not really sure that they are rarely used in PvE, but in WvW? Anet will need to change those to be useful if that ever happenEdit: And both sides have good points, why can't we have a middle ground? How about you can only get downed ONE after that its nap time.
  21. Just curious, what is the harm if i could shadowstep while reviving downed ally to safety? Doesn't seem too op since i can only teleport one person while Ranger/Necromancer can teleport 5 allies with reduced range.
  22. Asura engineer!Smart races? Engineer profession that can build Turret, use gun? I'm sold
  23. Anet could make a PvP open world, the Charr tank battle event proved that!Whats that? you want to fight anywhere at anytime? In PvE? In your dream.
