  1. Your suggestion is to limit the gaming experience for everybody with more expensive hardware and cut it down to the experience of the worst monitor/hardware possible? Do you see the problem? What's next? Giving everybody artificially a ping of 400, to make it "fair" for everybody in SEA and with bad internet connection?
  2. 1.) These "kill 100 xyz" objectives are not new. With the changes they just added a second option. "Kill A or B" instead of "Kill A". 2.) I personally killed these 100 bandits in about 5 minutes. It's not even worth to start afk farming for that. If anybody is dumb enough to do that, fine. Let them waste hours for these 50 AA instead of farming anywhere else where they get proper loot. When I did this weekly, I haven't even seen a single afk farmer. Well, afk farming itself is unintended so they will always do something unintended. As for the rules, it's not about afk gameplay, but about unattended gameplay. The rule forbids any kind of unattended gameplay. As soon as you don't pay attention to the game and your character (including pet, minion, turret etc.) is doing something, it's against the rules. This includes watching videos (or doing other stuff) on a second monitor. Even playing instruments via macros (macros are allowed for instruments) is not allowed without paying attention to your game.
  3. If you think buying better hardware is the most P2W in this game, it really shows that this game has no P2W. 😄 All in all you can't really blame a game for someone using a better hardware. So I don't think it's unfair or even P2W. Hardware will always be different among players. Someone will have less FPS, someone will have a wider screen, I personally have an MMO mouse and can control everything aside from WASD and jump with my thumb. You can't really design a game so that no hardware have any advantage. As for your specific case, the game has an option that allows you to change the Field of View. You you need, you can increase your FoV with this option, even without a different screen. And if your FoV is on max, I don't think the difference a wider screen makes will make any change.
  4. In other words you do NOT have any actual sources to rely on. You just talk about some theory you learned, completely unrelated to Anet, GW2 or their models. You do not have any insight on GW2's models or rigs. You do not know if races share the same rig or not. That's disappointing, especially since you were so confident with your claims, pretending what you said were facts. Everything you said here is without any base, without any source. You just THINK it's like this... And by that your claims are worthless.
  5. Bones =/= Rigs With the same bones you can make a dog rig as well as a human rig. Everyone can use these dances, because they created these dance animation for each race... Source? I mean, you are so confident about they all being the same and that it's not much work to transfer one dance animation to another race, so you must have a source your confidence is based of, no? Do you have some data that show the actual rigs or so?
  6. So.. how does that refute or confirm my point about rigs? All you proved is that Anet made the Sylvari dance for Norn. Okay, so they don't have to remake that animation for Norn. But you proved nothing about rigs. Are they actually? Yes, the models are similar, but that doesn't mean they have the same rig. Ingame Norn seem to have a different rig, the same as Kodan for example. A proper insight on the rigs would help at this point I think.
  7. Not really, no. AfaIk each race has a different rig. Each dance animation has to be created from scratch. When recreating the Charr dance for Asura you have to do the same work as creating a new dance animation.
  8. Yeah... no. Don't be so overdramatic. If it's no effort nobody should complain about it. 😉 And yes, if you want every small chest locked behind hard bosses, you are at the wrong game. It was never like that, neither in GW2 nor in GW1.
  9. Could you elaborate? Containers and bags are not the same. Some containers (like those from champion) can drop Bags of Stolen Goods and alike. These bags are different, they are sellable and don't contain other bags. There are no (or barely any) container within containers anymore. Only said bags within containers. So no "bags in bags in bags" (or containers in containers in containers).
  10. Fun Fact: That "problem" got fixed years ago already. It was mainly a thing in HoT, but it got turned down. Nowadays it's only a thing at WvW/PvP reward tracks (And I think 1-2 HoT bags). However, the myth still lives. 🙂
  11. But it's not a google search, it's a game. You want reward, you have to do something for it. That's how games work. Pressing 5/7 buttons in the right order to unlock a chest is really no effort. It's just like any other game where you have to use lockpicks to open a chest, just with a different minigame. But ofcourse just pressing F is more braindead and some people always want more reward for less effort. These "few pieces of a useless currency" is the main reason people farm arcane chests. 😉
  12. - Hatched chili (!!!) Kinda agree. You won't get much of them, if you don't play Grothmar Valley though. - Legendary insights (if the legendary armor is finished) They already are a wallet currency. I wish they could be used for more than legy raid stuff though. - Pulsing brandsparks I agree. I don't really get that much of them though. - Resonating slivers and above materials Agree - Vials, globs and shards of mists essence Agree - Ascended materials of HoT (bottles of airship oil and ley line sparks) Agree - balls of dark energy Agree - globs of dark matter Agree - Vision crystals and Lesser vision crystals Agree - Shard of ... (if you accidently got more than you needed) Not sure what shards you mean. Shards of Glory can be sold, it's fine. Shards for gen2 legendaries need to be crafted. If you don't need them, you don't craft them. - junk of pure jade They have some value. Even when sold to vendor, with 2.5s per piece your get good gold. - Many cooking materials, like plants and vegetables Agree - Candy cane (Winterday material) They are consumables and give you a 10% karma boost. They already have a good purpose. The max duration stacking could be more than 30m though. - Halloween materials (skulls, fangs and nougat) With the amount we get from Halloween I don't think adding more buyable stuff would change anything. They already added the upgraded versions to the weekly halloween vendor. Other than that, selling them to a vendor for 65s per stack is fine. It's a good additional income on halloween. - kryptis essences You can always turn them into Kryptis Motivations and sell them. Doesn't work for the T3 essences though and an easier option to turn them into something useful would be nice.
  13. It requires a minimum of interaction other than pressing F. Braindead farmer and alt parkers don't like that. Also it's literally a captcha check, so botters don't like that mechanic either. Other than that, it's really a non-issue.
  14. Technically we already have some secondary professions as elite specs. Specter -> you get a shroud, you get wells, you apply torment and bleeding. That's Necro, just with a shadow style. Dragonhunter -> you set traps, you hunt down enemies with a longbow. That's Ranger, just without the pet. Harbinger -> you throw elixers and shoot corrosive/poisoned bullets with your pistol. That's Engineer aspects. They all use aspects of an other class, they just use the style of ther own class. Make Specter skills green, rename shadow force to life force and it's a Necro espec.
  15. Do they? I don't think so. The idea of having 2nd professions in GW2 was there for a few years after release and only from a part of those who also played GW1. I think the 2nd profession was more used as an argument when comparing GW1 with GW2 than it was actually wanted in GW2 by players. Getting new interpretations of GW1 skills in GW2 would be cool, but having a good and working skill is much more important for me. Look at Untamed, the elite spec was designed afte a famous GW1 build, but it performed badly in GW2. It needed multiple changes to make it a good working elite spec. And even nowadays Untamed has some leftovers of the first quick and dirty fix attempts such as the always active trait that increases your dmg by 25% when unleashed.
  16. No no, I bet they want special objectives, but only ones they personally like and want to do. In other words "replace the objective I don't like with ones I do like".
  17. What part of "the story"? The story has several parts and aspects you know? Claiming the whole story is low quality would be just false. Sure, but "story is weak" is far far less helpful than explaining what part or even what aspect of the story is weak. By just saying "it's bad" the best outcome is that devs improve the parts they think are weak. And if that's not what you meant, you keep complaining or even say they don't listen to feedback. But if you explain what of the story you think is bad, they know exactly what should be improved.
  18. There is one tiny little detail you miss. It's really not much, but it changes everything: People are not forced to do these objectives. Mindblowing, I know! Objectives in the special tab are purely optional. You don't need them to get all stuff from the vault, you get nothing special. In the end it's literally just a few gold you get. Or the "bonus" to buy 1-2 WV items you get anyways a bit earlier. So yeah, calm down. Nobody forces you to anything. And you won't really loose anything if you don't do these objectives.
  19. One sentence was repeated at one NPC. It's always interesting to see on what high level complaints about the game actually are.
  20. Monetization wasn't even the point.. I already wrote that the monetization was a bad decision and I think nobody disagrees, so what do you want to discuss about? Well, apparently OP does. It was much more than just the delay. No, it was not. With the official system you create your templates and you can swap between them perfectly fine without any problems. The addon - as already said - bugged on several occasions so you had to switch like half your gear manually. And if it didn't bug, you had to check each item manually anyways to make sure it didn't bug. Also it's didn't work well with several interactions such as combat, teleports, mounts etc. Only when you use only 1 of the 8 templates, which absolutely is not the poitn of this thread. That's a problem of the legendary armory, not the templates. Two different systems. Wrong topic. All your arguments again are only about the 8 template cap. Different words, same meaning -> "The cap of 8 is the only thing where the official templates are worse than the addon". In any other points the addon was worse. An additional points, the templates (actually loadouts) are only one part of the system. Being able to safe, load and share your builds is the other part, which is much better than what the addon had. Sure, the build storage is limited to 30 again, but unlike equipment templates the builds are just a line of letters. You can safe them anywhere you want. Let it be a txt file, your guild message and somewhere else. You can share them via chat. You can even put them on your website so people can just copy&paste them directly into the game. And - another really nice thing - you can preview them before loading. Also when loaded or when changing your traits/skills, trying aroung things, you can undo than with a single click, when you are not happy. The addon was a nice walkaround, but the templates are the fleshed out version (with a sh**y monetization/cap though).
  21. Ofcourse you can. It is a meta event. You cannot call it anything else. "But I don't need it" is no argument against existing content. lol... You really shouldn't argue facts with your personal opinion.
  22. Stay with the truth please. That addon used macros/functions that would have been against the policies. The dev worked together with an Anet dev to make it still legal, assuming they will shut down the addon as soon as Anet has an official tool for the same purpose. Anet did not "make the addon illegal so they could capitalize their own stuff". Anet made it legal for the time they had no official tool. If Anet did nothing, that addon would have been illegal from the begin on. If you used the template addon, you should be grateful Anet allowed that, instead of accusing them for "making it illegal". Do you remember that addon correctly? Because what it did was nothing else but automatically swapping your stats etc. by "hand". It took time, it bugged out every now and then, so you always had to check everything manually anyways and so on. Equipment templates on the other hand are literal loadouts. You have you gear on that slot, no matter what happens. You can swap from and to it, even per hotkey, you can set your skins for each template individually and it's safe. No manually checking after each swap needed. The templated are definitely not flawless. The monetization is annoying and the limit should be higher than 8, but it's definitely better than the addon we had back then.
  23. We got a new meta, new convergence bosses, a new strike cm, tons of new achievements, legendary armor, legendary relic, new weapons for each class ( -> leads to new builds -> more variety in gameplay) and more. Idk, if you say "no real endgame content" it looks like you just don't like the content. Which is okay, it's a matter of taste. It's kinda weird to argue with "GW1 had so much more", because that's what burned out the devs so fast they stopped after Nightfall, slowed down and cut stuff with EotN. If you want to say that GW2 has no content, then you play the game wrong I would say. And if it's just about flexing, a city or lounge is much more effective than any endgame content anyways. lol You may need to change your perspective. Or take a longer break. Sounds like you played til burnout.
