  1. Half second activation / cast time, 7sec cd, 798 (x7) coeff 2,19 (coeff per hit 0.31) +7 stacks of torment the damage also comes out in so fast, like below a second. Double dips on a power skill (with way too high base dmg) with a lot of condi. The 7sec cd is the most ridiculous part. I realise most rev players wont agree, but im posting here nonetheless The fact that the power portion of this skill was untouched during the feb 2020 balance patch is really confusing. I have no idea about pve benchmarks, but ask for this in wvw. It is already weaker in pvp (0.24 coeff per hit).
  2. Video or it didnt happen. Pull of that level of self buffing / debuffing in wvw on a build that can also dps down targets? Why yes of course it is 25 of everything, permanent, all the time, etc. I am calling your BS. I can't comment on PVE, since I avoid it. WvW centered balance patch please!

  4. @Josh Davis.7865 please revamp / micro-manage cmc's work process for me? It must be a joke or based on some dice game. Idk how you as a studio let this change be part of ANY patch. This change made me very angry. It is so weak that it doesn't make any difference, so it was insulting. Oh, so you invited me to your birthday with free food? Great! Anyway welcome to this dev-abandoned corner of the forum where we discuss the insulting "buffs" we get inbetween pve-dps-nerfs. Care to comment on the state of balance of ele and its elite specs? I play staff. There are so many broken builds in wvw that is ridiculous. Looking forward to future balance. Can you give another dev responsibility for "live wvw balance" then cmc can do some better balance "shake-ups"? The 0.01 dmg coeff nerf on all dmg skills without the same treatment to condi was BS, and it left many skills feeling very broken. Some dmg nerf adjustment was needed for knockdown and stun skills but kitten. We desperately need small fine/better tuning more frequently. Promised follow-ups to big shakeups are still missing. Imo healing is currently too op on many profs, and many condi builds are way over the top strong. Tanky builds are too strong. Some classes have WAY too much mobility (ranger elites, thief). Some classes have way to long duration knockdowns. Dont give cc the same duration scaling as other condi from stats. Some cc is just simply way too long. Why is engi grenades so strong, and without circle marker? Why is norn racial elite skill + 5 soulbeast meme 50k stealth onehit still a thing? Can you maybe invite some streamers to a recorded discussion on balance? The list is too long but you gotta start somewhere. You need the balance input really badly and I need to see devs opinions on balance / them discussing current pain points in wvw balance. TBH you need a balance panel of devs playing wvw, maybe get input from guilds and be open about it. Cmc clearly isnt playing / cant possibly play all builds. The bias is real. Cmc play time per class, per specialication, per build, in WVW? Also please note that wvw balance will be an increasingly large issue as more players get legendaries, and "build/gear mobility" increases. Why doesnt skill tooltips damage accurately reflect the stats a player have, and the damage they will do on avg armor? Or atleast show coefficients in tooltips? I believe it is because you know things are broken, but prefer that only veteran players know about it. Good recipe for a great new player competive experience... Its so stupid that it is still like this
  5. I am also affect by this. I open the sell menu and cannot see buy/sell volumes & prices, then the the error unable to access login server. for all items I tried so far, been like this a few hours. Before this I've only seen the same error sporadically / intermittently.
  6. On a re-read this comes off as trollish. "Damage potential", "PvE only", "mistakes in play". This is not the feedback you are getting. A chain of skills longer than your list of wvw development goals/promises wants to have a word with you. A chain that breaks easily, then you take out the feather and start tickling the enemy for ages. Yay! Just change all my skills to "Break your fingers and sell the piano", 0,01 damage coefficient with auto logout and quick reroll your biased classes. Troll some more on Guild Chat, make fun of ele downstate, ignore the issue, insult the playerbase. The damage isn't even that good, and these changes give like 100more barrier and 2 more weakness per 15 seconds or something? Why don't you just delete staff. Ele can no longer use staff, perfect balance. PvE only changes are worthless to me, how will you show that WvW is such a cornerstone game mode to you?
  7. Overall I think this is a really good patch, changing combo fields to make it easier to understand like this and so many good bugfixes. I also like that the things they write about balance are more correct than usual. I do however completely agree with the quote above. It will not address the issue for weaver. Part of the problem is that the base hp and toughness is so low, and devs dont want to reward us with more dps than others for being squishy. I expect more updates here, because this one missed the mark for weaver.
  8. Regarding alliances, here is my feedback: 1. The alliances themselves cannot be too large or too small (too large = all the best go to the best alliances, too small = cant play with enough players, especially since we do not and cannot play 24/7 so coverage is essential). 2. We need public information about ratings (players and alliances). Competitiveness is at the core of WvW, and we need to keep it that way by showing who is doing well. 3. Alliances links need to change more frequently than the current links, but not too often. Suggest 3 weeks. 4. Alliances need some ingame swag, maybe colored titles inside wvw or something else 5. Alliances need changes to the way commanders and squads work. Would be great if you could see all players in alliance and the different commanders as if you were all in the same squad. This will help cross squad coordination without requiring persons to be on multiple voice coms simultaneously and greatly help chat-only commanders and players in general. 6. Alliances need frequent updated to ratings, and public disclosure of the parameters used to form matchups. Preferably also the importance of those parameters. I'm my opinion, they should value commander tagged hours with more than 10 players in squad very high, thereafter k/d, avg. wxp gained per hour per player, hours played in a squad, coverage matching, hours in a group, result last matchup, hours outside a group 7. They should not try to artificially have too many simultaneous matchups. Ideally one map always has a queue of 5players or a squad of 20 or more, or a similar level of activity. The worst they can do is to make all matchups have too few active players in them. 8. See WvW Rank of teammates and not just enemies...
  9. Really impressive how you will have all those beta events for the specializations, a good way to keep momentum. Looks like they will be very fun, and offer new kinds of gameplay for the professions. Note that I'm worried about balance, and devs "breaking our own rules". Very worried they wont fix the current balance. Most worried about still getting pve balance decisions that decimate wvw.
  10. didnt play gw1, so more than the actual turtle (which is awesome), I am looking forward to more multi person mounts in the future (now that they have the tech for it). A full party mount would be super nice 🤪

  13. stop trolling the op with your bs agenda. I completely agree with OP. The current meta is the worst i have played since beta. Tanky boonspam without any downsides, and brainless condi spam, extremely quick application of those also. My full bers power build is useless against this garbage. I also play tanky builds but its just boring gameplay. They dont die, I dont die. I log off.
  14. Thanks for this post, I was nicely thorough and very insightful. Thanks for the excellent uptime. Probably not the right place to mention this, but it reminded me that I have long wished for an explanation with a similar level of detail related to the the pros and cons related to wvw blob v blob skill lag (with respect to server hardware and package size or amount of data to/from each client per second). I believe I've previously read about how sending data to each other player becomes the issue, when there is more and more players nearby.
  15. I once had a setup where the sun would hit my router at 5pm for 1h, causing it to overheat, giving regular problems like this. If it is so periodic it is most likely your networking. I recommend troubleshooting with ping plotter or similar products, if you want to get more details on where the latency is coming from (which part of the connection). It is most likely your ISP or those you share internet with tbh.
  16. Im also experiencing this issue. EDIT: one hour later with trying suggested workarounds and I remember why I hate paypal. Uses my old phone numbers for current emails. Seemingly no way to recover accounts when you change phone number. Major hassle. Wont bother with a new email just for this. Why won't you take the money. Let payment processors sort stuff like this, and if they can't, switch the provider. Big yikes.
  17. Best news! Especially "Our new leadership team views WvW as a cornerstone mode of Guild Wars 2, and it will be a focus of ours going forward.". I believe those general tech upgrades can be huge for the game if you can pull it off. Alliances! WvW tears of joy. So hyped, love your work on this game. Feels like your management has gotten some huge clarity here. Openness like this is really important for us players and very refreshing. Expansion delay will make the expansion better for us players in the long, so I really don't mind. It can give them more time to spread the good message to potential new players and previous players.   24. Regarding metrics, I have to point out the that different game modes also reward you with very different amounts of gold / progression per hour played. WvW is the worst in that regard. You give us an in-game monetary incentive to play other game modes instead. This affects popularity and introduces bias to your metrics. My job is with metrics and I imagine how flawed they can be. Don't trust them blindly. Making accurate and smart metrics is very difficult.
