  1. Exactly. The dev time is spent where they most players are - and it is not in PvP. If more people played PvP, it would get more developer attention. Also... every game for the last 30 years is said to the game to kill all other games... has not happened yet. 😎
  2. I was a big fan of the idea of fishing. I cannot stand what they did to it. The Pong mini-game is far from "relaxing" with friends. Fishing is resource farming. There is no reason for some lame mini-game to mess it up. The other day, I had to catch five fish for a daily, and was reminded how much I hate how they implemented fishing. The devs need to go play Ultima Online to see what fishing is. You cast the line, you may get fish. There are sunken ships you can get loot from, there are sea monsters that may come up.
  3. Heroes, like in GW. I really would like to have my heroes back. Even if just in the instanced areas. I could use the heroes to do the stories. I know it won't happen, but that is point of this thread, isn't it? 😎
  4. As far as story goes, I do not care. I never let the story get in the way of my fun (I just wish I could more of the cut scenes). For fun - I am having more fun in this expansion than in any other. I loved EOD and SOTO is way more fun. I am playing more, having more fun, and earning more gold than ever. Is it actually more fun... or is it that I just got my mech? I don't know. 😎 I did run into the 1st two bugs I have seen in GW2 yet. One I could work around, one they fixed this morning. So far so good.
  5. Exactly. When I first started, I had to buy the core game, but there was - and is - no monthly fee. Everything in the gem store is optional. They sell mount, armor, and weapon skins. They do not sell mounts, armor, or weapons. The flying mounts are optional. I still do not have a skyscale or griffon, and I do not care if I get one. I am using one in SotO, but do not care if I get one for outside the new maps (I might buy it, but it is not worth the work to grind for it - to me). We pay to buy the expansions, but that is not pay to play or play to win. It is just buying a game. 😎
  6. I would like more shared slots. I would be happy to pay gems to convert a regular bag to a shared bag. Now that I am maxed on shared slots, the gem store has nothing I want. Sell me more shared slots (or my Heroes) and I will buy gems ha ha 😎 I believe you are right. The number of unique items makes for a bloated spreadsheet, but the quantity of each still takes up one block. Storing a number as 100 or 1,000 should not add much work to the system.
  7. I saw a small patch this morning when I logged in... but came here to see what it was, before wasting more time on the story. I will give it a go and see. Where is that post from? The game notes on the launch screen rarely get updated. 😎
  8. I like that you get points to buy what you want. The daily login rewards were mostly junk. I also like that on the daily quests one can select which game mode. So far, I like the new system. But it is only first day... no one has it all figured out yet. 😎
  9. They seem to come later in the story. Like with EoD, it came in Arborstone.
  10. I would rather look at a loading screen. But when they start talking, it gives me time to go mix a drink. 😎
  11. EoD has the best story in a very long time, but I would still rather skip it. I could not care less about story - point me at the critter and lets go kill it. Game story is an unwanted distraction and a waste of my time.
  12. This post made me go try the festival - I always hated that the boxes were full of useless food. I logged in, collected a bunch of gifts, opened them... all food & tonics. What got removed?
  13. If it was fun and relaxing, fishing would be its own reward. The stupid Pong game ruined it. Fishing could have been such a simple addition but they worked very hard to ruin it so thoroughly.
  14. The emojis are just a way for trolls to troll without effort. It actually works out well - the emoji adds nothing to the conversation, but if the troll wrote out their thoughts, it would still add nothing to the conversation. I just do not pay attention to the emojis. You can turn off emoji notifications, but can not turn off emojis displaying on your feed. Many forums allow you to turn off emojis and signatures, to keep the feed neater. Too bad they do not do that here. 😎
  15. Pretty much any of the professions work, it just depends on your playstyle. My main 2 avatars are my necro/minion master, and my ranger. The necro throws out his minions and supports with his staff. My ranger throws out his pets and stands back with his longbow. Both are very good for open world exploration. Good survivability, decent damage. The ranger has better AOEs than the necro, but with all the minions I do not need AOE so much. The pets & minions keep the aggro so I rarely die. I can barely remember the last time a minion died, the pets are not quite as sturdy - but probably because there is only one at a time.
  16. That pretty much sums it up. It is a troll lite button. The emoji system on this board is very limited and quite useless. But... I was unaware that it could be toggled off. I honestly never paid enough attention to look into it ha ha 😎
  17. Because it was originally posted in the main forum - it later got moved to the PvP forum.
  18. It is just the same thing PvPers are always looking for... fresh meat. They simply cannot understand that a majority of players have zero interest it their play style. They keep saying to use a PvP switch... we already have 2: the PvP lobby and WvW. If there are not enough players there, that simply means not enough players are interested. There is zero benefit to ruining the PvE maps with it. But at least this thread is "unrealistic feature" and that is a very unrealistic request ha ha 😎
  19. Heroes & henchmen are a major thing I still miss from Guild Wars. If they added them here - they could charge as much as they want for that expansion! 😎
  20. According to your original post... yes. You said it was wrong to make people buy the whole game just to get the living world, and it should be sold separately. Parasite posted the links to buy them separately... but that is not good enough? True, it is not a single bundle, but most people probably do not need to buy every single one. Buying each season seems quite reasonable. There are numerous ways to get the living world content. 😎
  21. If fishing was fun, I would need no reward. But the horrid Pong game... forget it. The reward would have to be pretty great to get to fish very often. A shame really, I was so looking forward to it. Who knew they could screw up such a simple thing so completely? 😎
  22. If that was all the map needed for PvE, that would be fine. There are far more PvE players, so they have more map space. Personally I think the world map is getting ridiculously large, but that is probably just me. A PvP focused expansion would not serve enough interested players. As I said - they can do whatever PvP changes that are desired, but a majority of the dev time and money needs to serve a majority of the player base. That is just good business sense. PvP players have never understood that it is just not as popular a playstyle. It has been a problem since Ultima Online launched in 1997. This is not a new conversation. 😎 ~Edit~ When my comment posted I see that the discussion got moved to the PVP forum. Interesting.
  23. There are already PvP areas. They could adjust them as the players want (if they can figure out what most PvPers want). But the majority of the develop time and money should go to where the most players are. Which is PvE in most games.
  24. If it is a weekend event, I would take the week off from the game.
