  1. Yep. Pretty much every game was going to be the WoW killer... then becomes dead on release day. This game has been dying for 10 years ha ha. "Fans" are the worst... 😎
  2. I do not willingly participate in any of the 'games' that change my skill bar, or involve jumping puzzles. Glad they are there for people that enjoy them, but keep them out of the general gameplay. The GW2 Wintersday festival just makes me miss the GW Wintersday festival. None of the festivals are as good as they were in GW. Well, the possible exception is the Boss Blitz in the Queen's Pavilion.
  3. I have not played it yet, I will wait and see. I read through it and did not see anything that major, or that bad. 😎
  4. I made a warrior about 8 years ago. I slogged through and got him to 80... never warmed up to him. I honestly cannot remember the last time I played him. He only collects birthday presents. ~Edit~ I just googled it and found some patch notes. Looks like banners are changing. I solo, so never used them. Anything else changing?
  5. I think the map/event was just designed incorrectly from the beginning. If I am fishing... I should not be taking a slot in an event that I am not doing. I rarely get involved in any event, but on other maps it has never been a problem. How do events scale on other maps, but they cannot do it on this map?
  6. Yep. That is open world play. It is not our fault how ANet set up the game. I am not map hopping for an event. It is not my fault, and not my problem. 😎
  7. I selected a North American server so my son and I could play. Then someone told me that the server only really matters for WvW (I am not sure). I think the time of day is more important than the server. I am GMT -8, so almost 12 hours off from much of the US. When I play, I rarely see very many people.
  8. I do not care if it is instanced or not. But... If I am on the map, it is for my own reasons. I am not there for the event. Sometimes I do a little of the prep events, if I feel like it, and it pops up nearby. But I have no interest in the event, and am amused with the players trying to treat it like an instance. I am not on your team, and it is not my fault how A-Net set up the event/server.
  9. It makes no sense to blame other players when A-Net messed up the implementation of an event. If team & timing are that important to the event - it should have been instanced. That is open world play. Everyone can do their own thing. Sounds like the fishers were there first and you tried to ruin their gameplay. Why didn't you go to another map? 😎
  10. Never heard of Josh, don't care what he says. You play your way - I play mine - we all have fun. 😎
  11. I have no interest in playing any of the story without a guide. That is what guides are for. 😎 I probably could have done the 1st half (charges/doors) without a guide, if I bothered to try, but I would not have gotten through the pile of boxes fight without a guide. Not a problem though... because I would not play the story without a guide. As for puzzles in general - GW2 is not really a puzzle game. I do not play it for puzzles. I am just here for monster bashing. I do not let the story or puzzles get in the way of my fun.
  12. Yeah, the crying is ridiculous. 😎 Also, EoD was the best story in the franchise - the most entertaining and the most fun to play.
  13. I could not stand that mansion chapter. So far the mansion, the rooftop fight with the justice dept dude were the worst bits. After doing them I went and explored Shing Jai some more just to relax. It was a week or two before I tried another piece of the story. Still not sure if I am going to finish the story. I looked up Extraction Point and it looks absolutely wretched. Not my style at all. That is my next chapter, and I have put it off for about 6 weeks. I really have no reason to finish the story to be honest. But this is the closest I have come to finishing a story since I started playing Guild Wars in 2006. 😎
  14. A major point you forgot. Your idea of fun is not a universal idea of fun. I have been playing MMORPGs since 1997. I know what playstyle, and game mode, I enjoy. I play for my idea of fun - you play for yours. GW2 does a very good job of supporting multiple playstyles and game modes. You are not going to "teach" me to like another. Such is life. 😎
  15. I never had any interest in any of the lounges. I got the PoF one with the expansion and use it so little, I actually forgot it was a special 'lounge' and not just another town center. I watched a YT video of the Thousand Seas Pass and bought it immediately. I love it. Not only does it have all the conveniences, but also massive amounts of locations available through the water based stargate. Isn't the anniversary in August? Maybe it will come back for that? There are usually big sales during that time. 😎
  16. Exactly! If DPS was important then ANet would give us a meter in our hero panel. Yeah, there is some test golem somewhere (never heard of it except on the forum), but if we have to go search it out... it must not be very important to most players.
  17. Yes. Which is pretty silly... I do not have to press 1... it is automatic. ha ha 😎
  18. I never had the panel pop up on its own. Maybe they recently broke something? I no longer fish because the Pong game is stupid, and should never have been put in. I was really looking forward to fishing... but they screwed it up...
  19. Yes. It will only be used to see if you are l33t enough to play on my super cool team. I never heard of ARC until I came to the forums, and it should not be allowed. If ANet wants to show me my DPS, they can add it to my hero panel. Otherwise I will never know it. And no one should be able to see another player's stats.
  20. I use a staff with my necro, but I think the minions do more of the work. He feels nothing like a mage, though. I miss my elementalist from GW. The elementalist in GW2 is terrible. I have found no characters that feel like a mage in this game.
  21. This makes perfect sense. Offer different packages, and be clear about what you are getting. Just makes good marketing sense, and better customer support.
