I have gotten a few free items from the gem shop this month, and shared inventory slots went on sale. That was all I was looking for... but there did not seem to as much this year as in previous years.

But if there was a sub fee, it would not be optional. Any gear in the gem store is optional. So no fee... unless you want to pay. And a lot of games with sub fees still have some kind of cash shop. So that is a lose-lose. GW2 gives us the option to spend or not.

It could make team chats easier, but most people that want to talk probably already have discord. So, it might be nice, but seems to be addressing a problem that does not exist. Just tell them you do not have a microphone. 😎

The last expansion was like $70, so other than the original game download, I paid for 3 expansion... maybe I am out $250 in 10 years. When my son and I played Ultima online I paid $40 a month for our 4 accounts. I much prefer the GW model. If people cannot control their spending - it is not my fault, and not my problem.

In GW2 the subscription fee is not replaced, for me. There is pretty much nothing I want in the gem shop. I buy the expansions in the most expensive option, because it is the only money I spend on this game. They give me like 4,000 gems and it takes until the next expansion to spend them. I rarely use the skins that I get for free, I certainly am not paying for any. Other than shared inventory slots, or the occasional bank tab, what would I buy? For me, this game has no fee. 😎 (I assume B2P is a pay to play or pay to win type thing? Mr Google failed me)

I like to run around, just looking at the scenery, and unlocking waypoints. Then I decide which direction to go exploring in depth. 😎

I got some more shared inventory slots, but that was it. Is the sale over? If so... very unimpressed this year.

As a new player I would find character slots much more useful than material storage. It takes a long time for a newbie (a real newbie) to hit 250 in any material. Backpack slots might be more useful, but character slots are good because newbies may want to try out numerous avatars to find one they like.

Yes, and for the lazy people (like me) you can buy unbreakable tools. That is an optional quality of life upgrade, not a pay2play or pay2win item. Only my main has a set of unbreakable tools. The rest of my avatars buy from vendors, if you carry one set of spares with you then you will never run out during a wandering session. 😎

Regional pricing is a problem. I live in the Philippines - but I live on American dollars (gloriously retired). So the prices are not a problem for me. The minimum wage here is about $6 a day! Yes... a day, not an hour. For them $100 is more than 2 month's rent.

I think that is true. The anniversary achievements gave me credit for some things I had already done... but not all. If they credited us with anything applicable that we already did - not so many people would be running around the starter areas.

The black lion keys are also useless and pile up in my bank ha ha 😎

This game gives gold for pretty much everything. Kill stuff - get gold. Sell stuff - get gold. Just play the game and gold comes in. Also, there is so little to buy, that gold just piles up. 😎

Use the portal stone and you get teleported to the Hall of Rubble. No monuments left.

They destroyed the Hall of Monuments, so who cares if people can connect it or not.

Why would it matter to me how other people collect the required currency? That does not detract from my enjoyment at all. I am going to do what I am going to do, I could not care less what other people do. I just hope they keep it all light hearted, fun, and accessible to all, as a celebration. 😎

As an anniversary, there should be: 1. Presents to all players. 2. Some extra pixels for long-time players, like 5 year, 10 year rewards. 3. If they want some extra items to be earned - I think they should be on a point/currency system that is available on any playstyle, any map. That way everyone can participate in whatever playstyle they enjoy, or any game level they are on. It is an anniversary, it should be a party. 😎

Depends on who you ask, I guess. I love my necro/minion master and my ranger.

The only acceptable place for ads is the rubbish bin. However... if we *had* to have ads, I say put advertising logos on the bad guys. I see an insurance company name on a boss... I am killing him ha ha

Exactly! It is about boobs & butt on a poorly drawn robot. On the plus side, if this is a major game issue - then the game must be doing well ha ha 😎

The benefit is a much better looking critter. The old ones looked disjointed and have always been pretty sloppily made. This is a vast improvement. 😎

I had no idea that legendary weapons were a status symbol. I never look at what other people are using, and would not know what a legendary looked like. I have no interest in legendries or skins. I do not craft, and my gear is good enough. I like the gem store because it allows a way to financially support the game, but I never buy skins. I rarely use the skins that drop/ ANet gift/wherever they come from. 😎

It is easily my most used mount. For normal running around and exploring, it is perfect. 😎

I am older than dirt, and personally prefer my trackball with programmable buttons over the keyboard. Using the mouse is far easier on my hands and more comfortable for my wrists. The only keys I use are W, F, and Tab. Everything else is on the Huge trackball. 😎

Yeah, Old is over 40. Think about it, 35-40 is middle aged, assuming a lifespan of 70-80. Anything beyond that is just gravy ha ha. At 58, I know I have far more days behind than before me... 😎
