  1. To be fair, we already have the Barbaric armor skin and the Gladiator armor skin in the game since 2012 i think. Both of them resemble what an ancient gladiator of the Coliseum would have looked like back in the day, in my opinion.
  2. Same. I played GW2, and specifically Drizzlewood Meta for the first time after a while. And i noticed the same problem of game freezing for 2-3 seconds when i got to the northern part (did the southern part without iussues). I haven't tried other meta events in other maps yet. Anyway, looks like i'm not the only one, which is kind of a relief. I thought there was some problems with my PC, but reading this thread looks like an iusse with the game instead.
  3. Ah, ok. Seems like i remembered it wrong. Well, at least celestial is still an improvement compared to before.
  4. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't they change it recently to make it so you can now choose the stats of the equipment you get with the booster?
  5. I made my first character on june 6, 2014, so in a few more months it will be 8 years since i started playing GW2, and i've been loving (almost) every moment of it. Because of that, unlike many other people, i don't need a special reason to play EoD. Just give me more of the same stuff that i've been enjoying so far, and i'm happy.
  6. I don't know. I did the south meta twice the other day and both times there were more than enough people to successfully complete the events. Maybe you just ended up in an empty map? Try to use LFG to create a south meta squad or wait until Thunderhead Keep is the map of the day, so you can more easily gather enough players to do the meta.
  7. I played the full story of GW2 (minus living world season 1 because i joined the community right after it ended so i never got to play it) ten times with nine different classes (twice as a ranger 'cause i have two of them), and i don't remember any story boss fight being too hard (plus there are some boss battles where you literally can't die)..... once i understood the mechanics of the fight, that is. So i wonder, are you sure that you are doing the things you are supposed to be doing? I'm asking because i remember that time i spent many hours trapped in a never ending fight with the Shadow of the Dragon (final boss fight of living world season 2), unable to win, until i finally had to give up and leave the instance. It wasn't the fight itself that was too difficult, but me that failed to notice a particular mechanic where a little shadow creature was going around extinguishing the fires that i was trying to light, so the battle was stuck in an infinite loop because of that. When i understood that i had to kill the little kitten, i won without troubles. Sometimes your build is not really the problem, is what i'm trying to say.
  8. Actually there are some new events that were added to old maps because of story related reasons. I'm talking about the hunt for bloodstone crazed creatures, the veteran bandits, the unstable anomalies, the awakened incursions, the rifts in the mist, ecc.
  9. Why would you surrender now? You can get both Mystic Coins and Mystic Clovers just from the daily login rewards even if you don't do anything else, and there ARE ways to obtain both. Not to mention that Mystic Coins can just be bought from the trading post, as long as you have enough gold (they are quite expensive).
  10. I have a question about this achievement. Since it'a collection of "returning" achievements, does that mean they need to be done by a character that has already completed the story once, or it can also be done by a completely new character?
  11. As for myself... 5 Most liked: The Shining Blade - Not only i like the design and the colors, but i also love the fact that it is a actual legendary weapon from the lore of the game and not just some item that simply happens to be fancier (sometimes ridiculously so) than the "ordinary" ones. The thing that defines legends is their history after all, and this blade has one. The Flameseeker's Prophecies - Same reasoning that for the Shining Blade. It's beautiful and has actually something to do with the lore. Too bad i don't use shields on any of my characters, otherwise i would have crafted it. Pharus - This one has nothing to do with the lore (i think?) but i like it a lot for it's clean design that manages to be cool while being simple at the same time. Also, it goes well with any race/class unlike the other legendary longbow, Kudzu, which just screams "Sylvari" to me. Exordium - I like the design of the weapon and the fact that it has different animations for different skills. The only problem is that its bright colors can be hard to match with a character look (i wish for dyable weapons. Make it happen, Anet!) The Binding of Ipos - I mean, it's just so cool. 5 Most Disliked: The Moot: - Seriously? A disco ball with trumpets? As a mace? What the hell was the designer smoking when he made this thing? It's just silly and feels out of place in the game. The Dreamer: - SERIOUSLY? A pink-ish shorbow which shoots unicorns with rainbow trails? Again, what the hell were you guys smoking? Plus it makes an incredibly annoying neigh every time it shoots an arrow. So on top of being silly it also bothers nearby players with its obnoxious sound effect. Shooshadoo - This one is seriously stupid. Who the hell would use an aquarium as a shield? This thing looks like it would shatter at the first hit it gets, and for a shield meant to block blows that's an utter failure. Flames of War - An ugly looking candelabra which seems too big and impractical to keep at your hip. Bah. Plus there are tons of exotic torches skins that looks way cooler than this thing. Kraitkin - I just hate Kraits and anything related to them, so i had to put this one on the list even though it's not that bad.
  12. A long time ago it used to be that every statue in Orr was linked to the corresponding temple (all the statues of Melandru in Orr were under the control of the temple of Melandru for example, and so on), but then Anet changed it at some point so that now the nearest temple is the one that controls the statue (if i remember right). So, you probably just needed to cleanse the temple of Grenth for the statue to become available.
  13. You can also use this Pact Operation Portal Device if you are like me and regularly forget to check the timers.
  14. I spend half my time in WvW playing pew pew ranger in blob fights ('cause i like the big messy battles), but projectile hate has never been much of an iussue to me. If i see that my target has activated a skill that blocks/reflects arrows (afer using longbow #1 to check whether it's safe to hit them or not. I don't just mindlessly spam #2 unless i'm reasonably sure it won't get reflected) i either hold my fire and wait for the effect to expire so i can then hit when it's on cooldown, or i just change to a different target and leave the previous one to somebody else (since there are always allies nearby. I'm not stupid enough to try to fight a blob alone). It's not like every single one of the enemies has blocks/reflects active all the time, so i always find someone i can pew pew to my heart's content.
  15. Yeah, your build is bad. Your equipment might have some exotic pieces (but you said you also have rare and fine gear right?), but the stats are all over the place. You have some berserker, some magi, trailblazer, viper, dire, celestial.... DPS, Condi, and Support all mixed together without a logic, so i assume you just equipped stuff you got from random drops? Or you made it that way on purpose? Plus you are missing a piece (the backpack) and you have neither weapons sigils nor armor runes. No wonder you are underperforming. First of all you should try to dress your character in full exotic. Rare gear and below is just not suitable for expansion content. And next you should decide what you want to be, if you want to go full glass cannon DPS or pick more vitality and toughness for better survival, or maybe go with a condi build. Once you have decided we can give you suggestions for a more efficient build. Keep in mind though that even if you have a good equipment and a good build you are still going to get rekt by expansion level enemies until you learn what they do and how to counter them, so you need to be patient and don't be discouraged by your current failures.
  16. He means this https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prototype_Position_Rewinder This beautiful gizmo, with its unlimited range and the ability to be used mid-air (unlike Mesmer and Thief portals), makes Jumping puzzles in general A LOT less frustrating to do, because you will not be forced to start over from the beginning if you screw up.
  17. If you want an example of what a Griffon can do that the Skyscale can't > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWENCGZbVKk&list=LL&index=16&ab_channel=Orpan%2FAlcira Anyway, the Skyscale is basically a helicopter while the Griffon is a jet. They are both great, just serve different purposes.
  18. I have a question too. Can i equip the same legendary weapon with two (or more) different characters, or giving it to one character means taking it away from the one who held it before?
  19. My opinion is that we should be able to explore every area that is visible on the world map so i would love to be able to go to those places as well. I always found dumb that, for example, the areas west and north of Divinity's Reach are unexplored. It's the human capital, and we don't know what lies just outside its walls? Nonsense. However, i don't think we will. They had nine years to create content for those areas of the world and they didn't, and now next expansion is taking us further away in another continent.
  20. I identify which class other players are playing by the skills they are using or by clicking on them and looking at the character class icon. I never use looks to determine a character class in a game where everyone can wear outfits that have nothing to do with their armor weight type.
  21. Agreed. Anet should either reverse the nerf and bring back the old meteor or reduce the casting time of the spell, or maybe make it so that you can cast it while moving.
  22. All living world and expansion content is designed for max level characters, so yes it will become playable when you reach level 80. You need to complete the first mission of the Path of Fire campaign (expansion #2) in order to unlock the mount system itself and to get the first mount, the Raptor. The other mounts can then be aquired by completing various heart quests and collection achievements in Path of Fire and Living World Season 4 maps. If you really can't wait to get your hands on a mount, you can create a new character, boost it to level 80, complete the first mission of the PoF campaign, get the raptor, and then go back to your level 25 ranger (don't delete the boosted character though, it might become useful in the future). Anyway, since you are still only level 25, your first objective should be to reach max level. You can worry about all the end game stuff when you actually get to the end game. I mean it's pretty pointless to worry about builds and whatnot when you don't even have all your basic skills and traits unlocked yet, and pretty much anything works in the open world at the lower levels.
