Bridge event, why does it feel these events spawn too little?

Recommended Posts

You need to complete 25 bridge events to complete the achievementThere 4 bridges on the mapThey can be solo'd in a couple of minutes or lessThe amount of time these events spawn is limited or at least feels limitedYou cannot call allies to your bridge because by the time they arrive those events are already completedBest thing you can do is let the event fail so lots of people can do the event but not many know about this

If you do manage to make a group to do mainly bridges not everyone will get to the event in timeUnless you let the event fail, which not everyone will do

My suggestion is to give the Asura on the bridge some kind of scanner that lets us know when the bridge is going to be attacked and how much time we have before the attack starts

Suggestion 2Make a Defend event that goes around the Dragon Stand map to check up on the progress of each campWhile also triggering every bridge event leading back to base

Suggestion 3Deactivate the 3 bridges on base camp and let us fight for the activation at the start of the map (When the map resets into Tier 1 again)The NPC should be able restart all 3 bridges on their own incase of no one doing the start eventAnd this would help most people who start on a new map to do this event

What do you think about the bridge events?Should they be improved? Are they good the way they are?should the be changed slightly?

I loved doing doing all the events in this new map except the bridge event eluded me

Every 15 minutes after a bridge was built, the defense event spawns. Therefore, if properly organized, you could do about 8-12 bridge events per meta cycle:https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/bp1ubp/master_guide_on_my_beautiful_infrastructure/

However, no one properly organizes this, plus there are always random players to screw up your perfectly planned schedule, so...

I parked a toon at each bridge. Cycled through them whenever I had 5 minutes. It took 2 days after that to finish the last 15 I needed.

Here's the thing tho: now that I have those 25, I can't think of any reason I'd go back specifically to do them. Any change that ANet makes has to take into account the fact that only people newer to the map will still be working on that. The rush is already less severe than the week after the map launched; in two weeks it will be less fraught.

So I doubt they'll make any big changes to it.

Probably is a reason to leave it the way it is ... once the population declines in the map, the LAST thing anyone wants is a harder event they can't solo attached to completion of the achievement. Eventually, everyone will be able to complete this achievement.

Bottomline: Few people have the patience to do it. It's not that it can't be done. It's just a matter of when.

Right when a new map starts use your roller beetle (or your preferred mount) and travel from eastern bridge over south to western. It's a single path. While doing that pick up 1-2 pieces and hand them back to the npc for every bridge. That'll be 3 bridges within minutes. So, with that strategy - which always works - it's 9 meta maps in total till you have the achievement. Very easily made.

Yep, that's how I got most of mine, just rotate and hit all 3 right after the map reset. Immediately get on roller beetle, bond of vigor, head south to melandru, then grenth, then north to balth. Turn in only 1 piece at each event, you'll get credit when the events finish anywhere on the map. Only 1 piece so other people get a chance to participate as well.

If they were going to change anything, they shouldn't change the events, just lower the quantity needed for the achievement.

@"Trise.2865" said:"A watched pot never boils." The simple answer is: it feels like forever because you're waiting for it to happen.

Eh, I'm sure that's true for some (perhaps even most). It's also true that the rules for the events aren't well understood without going to external sources. So it also feels longer if you don't know how long the wait time is... or if you do know without realizing that a defense event just ended, or if you do know without realizing that the camps have to be at a specific level.

As implied above, I don't think any of it is enough to convince ANet to change the requirements. I just don't think it's just one thing causing people's frustration.

@Jayden Reese.9542 said:The 1st thing they should change is not let the 1st bridge event spawn until the npc escort got there. Then most would finish over time but those 3 bridges are done within the 1st 2 min of a new map as I and many other Roller beetle put 1 salvage in and completed it that way. They could require more branded on the defense as well so you could call it out. It's an annoying achievement but easily done even now with the suggestions in this and prior threads.

That change would reduce the total number of bridge events that occurs per Dragonfall meta ... are you trying to make it take longer for people to complete this? O_o

First of all - necro...

Second... Here's a pro tip. Get a roller beetle. Bridge events in dragonfall spawn in rotations. Get familiar with the map, there's a clear line where you can circle around the map, going from bridge to bridge. Go to one, wait for it to become attacked, or fix it if it's broken. Works best when the attack happens. Then go to the next one with the beetle. By the time you get there, there will be an event, that bridge is also going to be attacked. Clear it, hop on the beetle, go to the next one, etc. The rotation starts at the fire part, then undead, then that lush forest part. Congratulations, now the bridge events are happening constantly, or with as little downtime as possible.
