First Legendary, 7 years later

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I'm quite late to the party but today at last I got my first and favourite Legendary Weapon, Xiuquatl!

As a returning Day One Player who took a 7 year brake (don't even know why) it feels very satisfying to finally wield a Legendary ?I don't regret spending one minute farming, game feels much better now ?

This describes my Image

Congratulations and well done on getting it finished!

I love that one. I'm kind of disappointed I don't have a character who would suit it and I've sometimes considered making one just so I can use it, because I love the concept. It looks like you didn't have that problem though, it looks perfect for your character!

Congratz!

I also took a break, but after PoF, and now i'm up to 3 legendary armor pieces (light). I still don't make weapons because i think they're a waste of resources. I'd like to make Xiuqatl for the skin though, i love it, and i could even use it on one of my characters, but i'd make it, change the stats to exactly what they were on the ascended and basically would do nohting so i don't do weapons yet.

I've made 3 legendary weapons and I got them all primarily for the skin. I change the stats on the staff every so often because it's shared between 2 characters frequently and occasionally a 3rd as well, but the others only change if I change my build, which is rare. But I really like the way they look and they fit the characters, so for me it's worth it.

Which is what everyone does when they make a legendary weapon.... It just give you flexibility to change the stats if it’s needed down the line...

Yeah, exactly! It's the skins and convenience. :smile:Personally, when i'll eventually start making weapons, i'll first go for the ones that more of my characters can use. Or the ones that i can use in multiple builds. And hey, if they ever make that legendary armory, it will be even better and more convenient to share legendaries among multiple characters.

But for now, i want armor. In the meantime, i'm slowly doing collections for Aurora and Vision, though i'm not focusing on that, but whatever, gives me something to do when i'm not playing WvW. After i'm done with the armor, i'll probably do the WvW backpack, and later maybe Conflux, idk. That's still a lot of skirmish ticket grind away so i'm not really bothered about that. I'll cross that bridge when i get to it.

Anyway... As far as legendary weapons go - personally, i don't find them as useful as armor or trinkets because not every character can use a particular weapon. But that's just me, if someone wants a weapon, great, how i chose do things shouldn't affect someone elses enjoyement, nor would i ever force my opinion on others. So when someone makes a legendary weapon, it's still of course a great achievement in this game, and i'm happy for them!

Armor definitely is more useful. Weapons and Trinkets however are for the nice visuals B)

I’ve used legendary weapons to fund three different weight sets of legendary armor from WvW... and to craft more legendary weapons. Currently have 6 gen 1’s and 1 gen 2 bound, along with 6 different gen 1’s Not Bound waiting to see if I’ll need to generate more income for something else.. Usually craft two, sell one..

They were both a convenience and a means to an end. ?

I'm actually thinking of making a legendary weapon to sell as well. :smile:But currently i don't really need the money so i'm just playing WvW and having fun. There's nothing really i need to buy immediately so i'm good for a while.

EDIT: Quick off topic question - is it still profitable if you buy all the materials for gift of fortune and then craft the legendary?

Personally, I find Evermore, the raven staff quite matching with a necromancer.

I also prefer to craft gen 1 & 2 (only 4) to gen 2.5 weapons.

Profitable I'm not sure, definitely faster though. By the time you have that amount of Clovers you probably have enough Materials too.

Staff is nice too! If you don't play Staff though ... idk if it makes sense to craft one.

Everyone here crafting Legendaries like casual Exotics ? Now that's above my playstyle.

Well truth be told, mats aren't that hard to come by, at least some of them. I can then buy the rest. I'll never probably outright buy all the mats anyway. But yeah, clovers take time to farm (even in WvW, though it's faster here), so by that time, it's inevitable to farm other mats as well.

The worst part right now is the 250 mystic coins. I have my stack of mystic and 60 of the clovers. I only need few items left and I'm finished. It's relatively easy. The elegy mosaics take some time. WVW gift of battle takes some time etc.
