  1. As others have said there is already stuff for that ingame. Weddings are player created and should stay that way. I remember some big wedding events in wow and in rift all player created. There are plenty of places to go and have a scenic wedding. We have dyes to make you a wedding dress or you can buy one. I rather they concentrate on other matters than weddings.
  2. I think the op is looking for barrens chat lol. I wish people would talk more but i understand why they dont a lot of times. Its an active game out in the zones take your attention away and go to type something, you may wind up dead. Not to mention combat is fantastic and fast paced cant really type when you fighting your way around a zone. Wait i take that back there is one truth that hunters/rangers with lb and pet no matter what game it is can afk kill things >_> necro/warlocks too lol I starting to love this game, and as i get more involved i do see some glaring issues that anet needs to deal with, but only because i want the game to go on another 7 years. They need to advertise more and get the word out, dont just rely on players to do it. Get out there and get interviews in the popular gamer sites. I know its been said a hundred times, and there is a reason it has been said that much..update pvp and wvw. I know open world is their main thing in game, but originally this game was built with wvw as endgame. You have a really big population of wvw and pvp players that will come back if changes are made. New map types, smaller queue maps for 20v20 new rewards, instead of letting it sit there and rot. There is eotm few people go there, break it up into smaller battle ground maps for 20 man teams with its own reward system, and capture type, different from borderlands. Rewards ingame should be bumped up, i know they need the gem store, but if you want to retain players that may well buy from the store you have to give them incentive to keep playing. One of the biggest motivators is rewards for doing a job well done. Maybe you should rethink adding some mount skins to the game that are a little dif from the base ones. 2 or 3 dye channels a dif look, add them as drops in raids, fracts, a chance off world events and metas. I think you underestimate the players resolve to get rewards from ingame. When all you do is focus on the gem store, the ingame content suffers. The people that buy mount skins and outfits will always do so regardless of ingame drops or not. But this way players feel like you are sharing with them, instead of trying to get them to buy. It would go a long way for players and retain them if some things changed. You are always going to have those players that stay and say everything is fine, but you cant base everything off them. You have a larger base that needs attention also, and healthy criticism is good. Business 101 listen to the customer, not about every little rage or idea. But when there is a outcry about something en mass maybe look into it. It also goes without saying new stuff should be added ingame regularly, i dont mean every month add a new zone. Thats just crazy talk, but there are things you can add to grab players interest. I think the world events like boss rush etc are a start. But also permanent stuff, or if not that then keep a rotating schedule of adventures for players. But try not to overlap them because then it just becomes a mess. The majority of people need incentive to do things, so give them that, keep them busy at the same time having fun.
  3. It should at least stay in the air a little longer. If you take off from ground level and try to fly from the bank to the TP in LA the dang thing just runs out of juice. Its an ugly mount too, never seen such an fugo face on a mounts. These mounts are really just like a glorified glider.
  4. It's a very common thing to see nowadays, check WoW's forums... GW2 forums and reddit always get anxious 2 months after the episode, the same thing happened before PoF, and in between every episode that GW2 is dying, while seeing that we get constant patches. We must learn to ignore those kind of posts, and don't comment on them. There is no use to prove someone is wrong every single week. True to a certain extent. As a wow player before this i heard years worth of the sky is falling threads, so i tend to chuckle when i see one. But at the same time a game needs to move forward and not stagnate in one place in order to be popular and profitable. You will always have the die hard players that stick with a game to the end saying everything is fine even when it isnt. Well the point is to have a game that not only the die hards play, but you have a good sized population so people can do things together. And if your core game is good then making new content will always keep players interested. Otherwise you wind up with a small playerbase, that dwindles away. Look its been what, 2 years since pof? The time frame for expansions is usually 1.5 to 3 years for many games in the genre. But expansions are needed not only as a big burst of revenue, but to retain players.
  5. But.... people who want to PvP can simply go to that format and do so. This would be an even easier solution. No need for the devs to create on/off tags or to visit the arena guy (not everyone is in a guild either, especially new players?). It was ideas, not saying the guy to flag you has to be in the guild hall. Could be an npc in DR. The point is playing open world while flagged can be a fun challenge, much better than a wvw map that you are locked to, in open world its freedom. You can be out in the world riding along mining and another player that is flagged sees you, and the battle is on. You fight them while having to survive the environment around you also. Its a dif way of playing the game, and lots of us find it fun, it dont step on the pve toes because unless you volunteer to turn on your flag you can go about your business. I played on pve /pvp/ rppvp servers and all of them were a blast, its just a dif way of going about you day in game, some people would rather pvp out in the open world than get locked to a map in one small section of the game I think pve players think this is going to make them targets...no it wont only turning on a pvp tag will allow you to attack or get attacked by another player.
  6. Personally i think its a fun aside thing. It wouldnt affect pve because only people that wanted pvp would turn on their tag. Thats all it really would be is the flip of a switch. Just go to the arena guy in the guild to turn it on or off.
  7. There's also a loud deep repeating BOOM BOOM BOOM sound at the very bottom of Ntouka Pond in the Domain of Kourna. It wasn't there originally, if you look at Insight videos the oldest ones don't have the sound but the newer ones do. I was wondering if it was some sort of dragons 'heart beat' resonating through the water..... Maybe the whispers are from 'Mother'... Maybe the elder dragons were put in place by someone/thing-else to absorb the magic to prevent 'Mother' from awakening... Hmm i checked out a video from February this year and you are right , no weird rumble sounds. Maybe players should go check other deep water areas. See if you can hear it there also.
  8. This is giving off some pennywise vibes especially at the end the way it gets deeper What if we go North and find Jormag is dead and something else is calling to us. There are at least 2 separate entities speaking, one female one male in voice. That final part they both speak together.. You are safe. Do you want to survive? Come closer. Are they speaking to us or to each other over a vast distance. Or are they speaking to their own. Are they dragons like the DSD and Jormag talking to each other over a long distance on the wind, trying to join forces and ..We are stronger together? Or is it some other entity we have not seen before, something very powerful. Im not that familiar with the gw world, is there something in this world that has the power of dragons but isnt a dragon? Maybe an even older power than either dragon or god. We know there is at least one female elder dragon, that is Aurene. I think the DSD is a female.
  9. Okay so according to the wiki under current dragonrise they show primordius and jormag as dormant, but the sea dragon as AWAKE. This is all very confusing, on the one hand we have what looks like snow and def a pair of icy or water type eyes in there. We have these norn travelers speaking of jormag, and the whispers. OTOH we show that the only dragon awake is the sea dragon. I wonder if anet is pulling a blizzard and trying to throw us off the trail with fake clues lol
  10. The problem is GW2 went too casual, you need some higher end gameplay or all you have is a simulator. I really think they should support the more competitive game modes so the people that raid/pvp/wvw get some love. You cant have a game thats too casual or too hardcore, there has to be a nice balance for both.
  11. Exactly, imo wow is a better game. You have a lot of endgame and a huge amount of zones and story to go through. GW2 is better visually and has a combat system i like better, and the lw stories are nice, and the mounts that have a purpose. But im not going to deceive myself thinking its a better game, its fine for what it is, i mean its b2p if you get the expansions so i cant complain i guess. Personally i think the worst thing a game can do is try to be a wow killer, they all fail. GW2 needs to just stay away from that its a super casual game that you can play at leisure without any stress about , omg i have to get this and that and raid and become a gladiator. WoW is very competitive, gw2 is very relaxed, just dont relax it so much it becomes comatose Devs.
  12. I got some bad news for ya. GW2 streamers are also going wow classic. Going to be interesting to see those streams once the gw2 fans start commenting.
  13. Amen to that! Its a visual nightmare. WAIT WHAT!!How do you move the target bar?
  14. As a complete noob, what class should i go in on? I have necro ranger engi mes. What one will help me the best.
  15. I completely agree. I've played GW1 competitive mode since Factions and the game was pretty lively until the end with decent dungeons added later on, but what GW1 GvG was in the MMORPG genre I don't know if any other game could best. The content drought is serious. The game has been out for 7 years and has 1 new class. I get it, the balancing of new classes will create serious problems and turmoil, but if you don't even try to refreshen the core gameplay why even bother supporting the game. The HoT map content and mechanics were amazing and revolutionising the way you interact with the map in a mmo game, but after that it's been all downhill. PoF content is bland and not appealing to repeat, which is why the maps stay nearly empty. The living stories are great for the first... couple of days of their release, after that they are empty. I completed my story when the beetle mount was released, but couldn't bother at the time with the mount itself. A few weeks later, I can't find anyone on party search doing the bounty quest so I gave up. And let's face it, after each episode the previous maps are being abandoned. Truth is the majority of GW 1 playerbase was pvp oriented and they felt kicked in the kitten with how gutted pvp in GW2 is. The PvE aspect is way better than GW1, but with the lowest skill and content cealing I've seen in a mmorpg game of this scale. So neglected and gutted pvp with low ceiling on pve equals....GW2. I didn't back in 2012/13 and still don't get why they took a 180 degree turn from the pvp aspect, why compete with the true king of west pve mmorpg in WoW (and I say it with prolly 10 hours of WoW gameplay), when you can be the dominant pvp mmorpg. Anet made a really poor analysis on the future of the genre and game scene and they are paying the price for their choices. Right now there could've been more than 50k viewers on twitch and major tournaments, bringing revenue if the game was the pvp from the original game and upgraded pve. Instead the peak viewership gets MightyTeapot on balance changes streams with 400-500 viewers on average and ingame constant decreasing population. I personally don't think there's anything to salvage, the game is pretty much on autopilot with a living story team and mmorpg is long dead compared to other genres to even bother investing in a major overhaul. In conclusion GW 1 was ahead of its time and GW2 is late to the party. I think you're overestimating the use pvp would have had. This game is to fast-paced for a nice viewing experience. And the changes nessecary to fit a slower gameplay might have hurt the game more. Also gw2 open world pve is the best in genre by a Longshot. Esos quest are a little better but I wouldn't call the gameplay their good. Gw2 is at the moment the mmo for the less devoted. It has its niche which you might not like, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I dont think its too fast paced to be viewed like arena tournaments. WoW does arena combat, the only thing it lacks is dodging, but its still watched competitively. Its actually very popular considering its an mmo. I like wows combat, just would miss the dodge roll lol. I wish there was more emphasis in GW2 on pvp tournaments , im no where a good player, but i like to watch the best players pvp. I didnt link a professional team, because that would really confuse people. This is just a casual pvper thats a popular streamer.
  16. He's talking about the 'boss' part after completing 3 raounds successfully. Basically a PoF pinata event, which is available all the time. ;) Well i have missed it because they kill it before i even get there.
  17. I do tend to agree with you. I think all this stuff that is pretty much junk needs to go. We are drowning in junk drops, i would rather mobs drop gear/weapons for use or salvage, and coin gold/silver/copper instead of taking up my bags with all this kitten junk. I think thats something they need to change, it would go a long way to make players feel they are getting somewhere.
  18. I think the problem is marketing and appeal. I never see anything about gw2 they need to get their presence out there, and they need to change/add some things that will appeal to new players. They need a bigger presence at gaming and fantasy cons, now would be a great time to announce an expansion and really get the advertising out there. I dont understand why they barely promote the game, it makes it seem like they have no interest in expanding it, just keeping it where it is. Also do the people at arena net get free reign on their game? Because we all know the devil that corporations are over their game companies. Look no further than Bobby the devil Kotick lol
  19. Not that I am aware of and in a recent Support Ticket I was told you cannot move an individual character to another account either. Aww thats a shame. I wish they would do what some games do and let us merge the account.
  20. Okay guys thanks for that. I dont suppose w can merge 2 gw2 accounts can we?
