  1. 1. Kaineng ( just because it's so different to anything we've had, but other than Meta, events seem sparse and lacklustre. You can also tell it was rushed as some of the clipping is awful.) Should have scrapped Arborstone and placed a Commercial Hub in Kaineng with TP/Bank/Crafting etc. as a focal hub to pull players together as the map is so vast it feels devoid of players outside of Meta Map. 2. Seitung ( easy to map complete, Meta okay, simple JP, relatively aesthetic if a bit too green, nothing amazing, but okay) 3. A twisted mess of dark trees interspersed with Gothic style cathedrals with nothing much appealing anywhere. Imo nowhere near touches the design of Tangled Depths. 4. Dragon's End ( I haven't endured the Meta here yet so can't comment but that doesn't really appeal especially as all I here about it is a 1.5-2 hr cluster-kitten waste of players' time. Guild mates type all day long in guild chat "another fail" - but on the whole I think the design of Dragons End is horrid, totally nothing to write home about for the EoD finale map, and that nasty garish green is nothing but an eyesore. Anet saved the worst map until last Imo it needs scrapping and a whole new redesign. Again doesn't even come anywhere close to Dragon's Stand. Problem is: HoT was such a strong expansion: Intricate, detailed, very well designed maps, simple but effective co-op Metas, gilding, adventures, Gen 2 Legendaries, arguably some of best loot drops in game: Chak & Aurillium Infusion, Invisible Boot Box from Treasure Shrooms etc. OP loot even if extremely low % RNG: PULLS PLAYERS . Where is the comparative loot in Eod?!? Based on all this EoD is sub-par in comparison. Once the honey-moon period is over where is the longevity of gameplay with Eod???
  2. @Izzy.2951your comments I find thoughtless to who and what represents the casual gw2 playerbase. ... and since when has all content been zero challenging and easy??? That's what Raids, CM fractals, sPvp are for kitten. Personally I couldn't care less about DE Meta or the Siege Turtle as I'm not a fan of casual PvE, but that's because I'm a vet player that enjoys challenging, competitive game modes with other like minded players in the rightful places: CM Strikes, CM Fractal speed runs/group build optimisation, Raids, sPvP, WvW. On the other hand: My niece is 11 years old, she only plays/enjoys Open World PvE, she is definitely not a Raider or experienced enough to know or understand the technicalities of CMs and that completely does not appeal to her - She plays for fun: I'll say again she's an 11 year old casual player, whom I'll add has managed to attain all other mounts in the game. I see the Turtle as a novelty fun mount which she desperately wants, and not for want of her trying sees herself constantly kicked from DE squads because her DPS is not good enough or she's not playing the profession the Com wants: How do you think this makes an 11 year old feel? TLDR: Think about the demographics of the wider casual PvE playerbase and not just your own self
  3. Nowhere it seems in Eod... ... hence when the hype or lack of hype dies down, players have given hope on Turtle or realised its not even that functionally great anyway - most of playerbase will resort back to their pre-EoD gold making routines. Incoming desolate EoD maps in few months if not next week.
  4. Oh mate that sucks, how many hours has that taken? Don't give up though sure you keep trying enough you'll nail it soon, laws of probability and all, gl
  5. I'm curious to see what players thoughts are Anet deciding to tie the acquisition of the Siege Turtle to completion of DE Meta as difficult as it is? I really don't get Anets marketing stratetgy over this decision. Personally I've no problem at all with the difficulty of DE Meta, as like many other veteran gw2 players I enjoy challenging content which makes you think, work out strategies etc. etc., but I really don't get why Anet ties what to me is nothing more than a "cute, novelty mount" to difficult content, and ergo a mount that is likely way more appealing to the casual player base. Like many Vet players my daily game time revolves around Fractal CMs, Raids, WvW, Strikes, sPvP, and in a lesser capacity open world, as there is only so much appeal and challenge Open World has once you've played GW2 for 9 years... ... Thus as a vet player whom enjoys challenging content the Turtle just doesn't appeal to me and like countless other vet players not something I think I will barely ever use in any of my preferred game modes. TLDR: Novelty "for the lols" cute mount (probs more appealing to PvE casuals) tied to Challenging DE Meta, the difficulty/challenge more appealing to Veteran gamers whom probably don't even care for the mount just doesn't making sense from an Anet Marketing Strategy pov. Expecting an incoming nerf as when Anet wakes up that casual PvE'ers, new gamers, returning players are getting more and more frustrated and its these players that are their big, more impulsive Gem Store buyers it will hit Anet in the pocket: Incoming easy mode DE Meta!
  6. @Jaunty.6018 you're wrong mate since you said your post will be crapped on by most on forum. Those Hearts don't lie! You hit the nail on the head with your post. I asked some of my guild mates yesterday: What will you do when you've done EoD storyline, done all map completion, new achievements, Mastery to 455, got Turtle? Their answers were all the same: "Go back to the content I was doing before EoD". ^^ In that one unanimous answer sums up all that is wrong with EoD: Where is the longevity of gameplay ?
  7. yea agree, the HP's aren't that bad to see, but as far the story-line green star thing, and when you get the little green circles denoting which area to go on the map to proceed with your story-line, I find this really difficult to see and I'm not even colour-blind, well at least I don't think so until now ?!?
  8. Just no. We just need an alternative source of gaining supreme runes of holding. Gambling = "playing in the Devil's playground". I lost 2 good friends to that kitten, they were so addicted they were both converting gems > gold > ectos trying to win back what they'd lost. Sure both obviously had addiction problems and admitted they needed therapy as neither of them could stop. Easy for us to say to them it was their own fault but many others out there have addictive personalities and have succumbed I'm certain to the same fate. The above nearly cost one guy his marriage. Needless to say they had to completely uninstall. The younger guy asked the question why in an online game is the storyline rated [PG] yet there is an in-game casino with no censorship for minors? I couldn't answer.
  9. Yeah I'm totally for this would be a neat simple idea. Perhaps bar colour to be the same as the masteries? I.e. Core (red ), Hot (green), PoF (purple/magenta), Icebrood (blue), EoD =?
  10. Put your hands deep in your pockets kharmin and support the cause! 😊🤑 But yeah seriously I'm with you here though, too many lazy, woke types thinking they are entitled, wanting something for nothing all the time. It's basically f2p, no sub fees, even buying core game standard and/or HoT/PoF Xpacs GW2 is dirt cheap considering just how much sheer content players can unlock, and furthermore in the big scheme of life and how much other hobbies cost, cost of Gw2 is like a penny/cent in the ocean!
  11. 1. Struggles with Story content in Gw2 2. Out of desperation and venting makes forum post 3. Gets lots of helpful advice, even from players offering their help in game to assist :Seriously how much more help can you possibly get offered than that?? 4. Proceeds to uninstall and go play FFXIV, like there aren't similar issues you will encounter there??? 5. Why bother even making GW2 forum post in the first place over such a trivial matter, getting lots of offers of help but then quitting anyway?? Seriously....kitten
  12. @Marauder.4297 my best possible advice is really don't quit or let another player(s) be that deciding factor like ever: Period. Pro-tips: 1) Surround yourself in game with positive people whether that's within game, friendliest, group or squad. 2) If you join an open squad, group, PUG etc be prepared in advance most players maybe totally cool and chill, but there may always be one toxic player whom gains 'their fun' from putting others down to escalate their own egos. Such players I really don't give an f about and don't give them a second thought and that's how you should feel also - it's not an issue unless you make it an issue. 3) Remember you can drop group or squad in a split second, block report if you choose then seriously forget about the incident, go do something else 4) Some w/e you want to cool it:Insult, abuse, trolling can be helpful like the 1st time I was instant kicked from my PUG T4 fractal. Other players gave me no warning, I whispered them and they told me my DPS sucked obs they all using arcdps and that time I didn't even know what arcdps was, also my build was all wrong for fractals.... Did I quit? Hell no: I learnt from my mistake...leading to 5 5) Maximise / unleash your potential in any game mode is what I learnt to do after I was kicked from a PUG: So what did I do? 6) Use discretize.eu, snowcrows for optimal build, rotation, trait lines, gear, runes, sigils, food, util BUT adapt your build to any given encounter. 7) Learn & practice your role/ profession inside and out, practice on Raid Golems with DPS meter if you wish to maximise your own game skill 😎 Exotic gear more than good enough for open world casual gameplay but helps to aim for full ascended again to make life easier for yourself. 9) Use food/util often and everywhere it's dirt cheap and can make your DPS or heals better for such a low cost, ofc you don't need meta food/util for open world, but anything is better than nothing. 10).... have fun?!? Enjoy the game. Nobody forces anyone to play any particular game mode or with people. You can play entirely alone if you wish, or in a helpful friendly guild and only do group content with guild members you know. The choice is yours 😊👍
  13. As well as the otter, I'd love the few expensive infusions I have on my main, more easily available to use on my alts. If you play a lot of alts like i do, constantly using infusion/upgrade extractors is far too laborious each time you switch character so i just use cheaper Infusions on my alts. Infusion armoury would be cool 😎
  14. .... and ~3.5 years later this thread gets bumped lol. Let's wait another ~3.5 years we can bump it again and see if Anet does anything lmfao In before Mod locks thread 😉
  15. Them ears??? , guessing this Asuran has no need for any flying mount, just flap those ears for take off. EoD incoming: Flying Asura. ... but the face is kinda creepy, like some Elfin, disturbing, child doll, not keen on that. My biggest downfall in 2012 was choosing an Asuran Elementalist, played a few weeks without knowing anyone or being in a guild, kept dying constantly, blamed it on picking an Asuran, I was just too fugly for anyone to invite me into their guild! That wrong choice caused me to quit, came back 4 years later: Made 18 human characters, relegated my original Asuran for his only worth: JP's. @AusarViled.7106
  16. On a plus note gives everyone a chance to unlock all the Exclusive Dyes from Aurene Dye Collection if you like/want them best to do so now during BLC rotation.
  17. Ah my mistake then, ty for pointing that out, but even so not exactly sure why contents haven't rotated?!
  18. I think its definitely a tech issue, as the BLC name was updated to "Lunar Chest" but the BLC contents haven't changed. We normally get Evon Gnashblade Lucky Envelope as the Guaranteed item. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Evon_Gnashblade_Lucky_Envelope
  19. This ^^ This topic has been brought up countless times before with the same answers each time. Search Function = MVP
  20. @lina.6738 Thank you for your reply Lina. I'll post a few points as below in reply: 1) Many WvW boosters you can get FREE in game, such as Celebration boosters, or buy XP boosters from Laurel (Free daily login) Vendor, the only additional booster I have purchased with Gems was Snowflake Gobbler which was relatively cheap. 2) How do I play WvW? Mindlessly following a Tag? Never I use my mind lol - Seriously I personally don't enjoy big zerg fights or Guild vs Guild, not my thing. I started solo roaming, got chatting with other solo roamers, made lots of friends whom I've known many years and whenever we're online same time we roam in small groups, use discord, have a laugh enjoy stealing a keep or tower with just a small group of us as well as getting slaughtered like pigs by a 50 player opponent zerg, but as long as you don't take it seriously its very chill fun. Each to their own though 3) Gift of Battle Vs Gift of Exploration: I was merely drawing a comparison from a neutral player's point of view and standby my statement that in terms of time sink the former takes significantly far LESS time. 4) Gift of Exploration as much as I hate map completion I'm not the kind of person to complain about this on forum for something that has been this way for years, and Anet haven't changed it in all that time so why should they now? 5) Same with Gift of Battle, how would it be fair to all those players that hate WvW, but grinded it out the way it is now to, if Anet made it easier to obtain for casual PvE'ers? I hardly think this would be fair for the wider gw2 community. 6) The comments responding to your post maybe a little "off" as @kharmin.7683will gladly tell you, if you use forum search feature this topic has been brought up countless times before, and have Anet ever changed it in the last nearly 10 years? My best friendly advice I can give is the bottom of my initial reply, AND ask around of a few friends in your guild or make some new ones ( a problem shared, a problem halved, fun or not its just as it is and feel it's here to stay) get the FREE boosters, jump in WvW, grind it out and soon you'll have your Gift: Job done 😘
  21. What? Lol Sorry to hear you feel this way, but seriously walk away from GW2 for a while and go play some dedicated PvP games, Pay-to-win games and you will see what real toxicity is!!! I'm coming from a background of 10 yrs PvP games and GW2 is like Alice in Wonderland in terms of toxicity. Listen whatever game you play, wherever you go irl, you will always always encounter elements of toxicity: That's just people, but for the most part it's the minority. In my years of wisdom I've largely learnt players aren't born toxic at birth, and am mindful that more than likely toxicity arises due to irl problems, and for these individuals it's only way they manage to vent. In my humble opinion I've encountered way more players in GW2 that are overly helpful, I often send 1-2G tips for the lovely daily JP portal mesmers and you know what, such is their genoristy some even send my tip back. Also people that tend to say the community has become toxic after just ~1-2 toxic players vent out of a 50 person squad. Funny how the other 48-49 players in that squad maybe totaly chill, friendly players but the community gets labelled toxic cos of a minority few eh??? Also notice in such squads especially in open world the majority of players don't even speak, just quietly go about their gaming unnoticed, not bothering anyone. Ofc the toxic ones are more vocal wherever they go, so it's a skewed analysis. One of the main retention factors to keep me playing Gw2 IS the community feel here. It's honestly like no other online game I've encountered. 😍
  22. @lina.6738I can understand your post to a point but as a WvW player let me ask you this? Gift of Battle without boosters takes ~ 8 hrs, but why would anyone, especially not a fan of the game mode not research all of the Reward Track Boosters you can stack that halves this to ~4 hours. With WvW event week you can do this under 4 hours, so literally you can get your gift in 1 morning or afternoon: To me for an item that is Legendary, 4 hrs is not a big time sink. Conversely Gift of Exploration IS a far bigger timesink. Gift of Exploration: I've heard can be done non-stop in ~ 12 hrs with Way point unlocks, mounts, but that's a GW2 record I guess by a speed player who does it repeatedly as a farm to sell the gifts. Chatting to my guild mates they generally agree it takes 3 days give or take from 0% (new character) - 100%. Either way it's 303 Renowned Hearts that to me are utter mindless boredom incarnate when you have already done them once before- BUT, and a BIG BUT @lina.6738as someone whom totally hates the total mind numbingness of repeated Map Completion on character after character : I grin and bear it, and stick on some Netflix and do it semi-afk as that is the requirement I must fulfill to craft a legendary. So I could ask you @lina.6738as a WvWer why must I spend ~ 3 days solid (outside of WvW) doing mind numbing solo map completion (which I can only get through semi-afk watching a movie) when you can achieve Gift of Battle in 4 hrs (with boosters)??? Apologies to be so blunt, but I find it very tiresome for players to repeatedly making posts such as OP. I've never made such a post about Gift of Exploration as much as I hate it, but that is what I must do. Rarely in GW2 or even irl do we enjoy All steps A, B, C to get to point D, but in my book you've 2 options: 1) Do your homework how to accomplish points A, B, C in the most efficient manner and strive for the fact that Point D is your ultimate goal no matter what; OR 2) Give up on it entirely. FYI: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/WvW_Reward_Track (Homework bit to read) Check WvW DAILIES every day: Do fast, easy ones: "Big Spender", "Master of Monuments", "Land-Claimer", "Caravan disruptor", "Mists Guards Killer": These are all a piece of cake and require literally zero effort/time. "Camp capturer" takes a few minutes, depends if you can solo camps, get attacked or the camp is available to take etc, Stack the WvW potions day by day, Gift of Battle done without barely even playing the game-mode!?! - Now can I do the same with Gift of Exploration I ask ? Ergo Gift of Battle IS a walk in the park.
  23. As far as I see you did nothing wrong and in my humble opinion kitten situations happen like this all the times in PUGS for no reason, any reason, some reason, or perhaps 1 minor or major fault you make, some angry try-hard *the bad apple in your PUG* sees it, and instantly votes to kick you, rest players tend to be on the fence but often they feel compelled to also kick from pressure from the Bad Apple. Any group instanced content I always ask 1st in any of my 5 guilds for players before I PUG. The problem with PUGS that they can be great, people actually communicate , yet others there is zilcho conversation, totally impersonable like you might as well be playing with NPCs....... UNTIL 1 player makes that minor/major fault something and then everyone suddenly opens their mouths and not in a positive way. PUGS like irl you gonna meet the good, the bad and the downright ugly, but c'est la vie!
  24. Chances of Anet giving us back old LA: Between: Slim & Jack and Jack just left town. But also it's nearly 2022 and sadly can't see Anet changing LA at this late stage. Also "New LA" can hardly even be called New LA :We've been stuck with it for years! It's definitely not new for players that never played Gw1. Still am all for a VIP Lounge Pass "Return to Old LA"
