  1. While I think that this would be cool, I believe that it would lock out players who have not acquired either flying mount (since neither flying mount is required for current content).

  3. Not every game is for everyone. It simply cannot happen. There are many games I've tried and found the early experience to be more difficult than I would like to the point where it started to become more of a chore than entertainment. I didn't go to those forums and complain about the difficulty and/or ask for changes to it to suit my preference; rather, I left and found other games that more ably fit my gaming entertainment needs. Clearly, not every new player is turned away by the early parts of GW2 -- I see new players all of the time in higher than 1-15 zones.
  4. Right. Like I said, mounts are a nice QoL improvement but they are not required to complete core content.
  5. This feels like another one of those threads requesting that Anet find ways to force people to play together. No thank you.
  6. I disagree. The leveling is fine as it is. Maybe you could help teach your friends to play faster?
  7. This is not a new idea. You can do this now. The only difference is putting Anet on the hook to do the monthly transaction. I'd wager that there are many other things that Anet would prefer to spend their resources on when players can simply be responsible on their own and make their own monthly transaction. With so much technology (computers, cell phones) it shouldn't be too difficult to set a monthly reminder.
  8. As has been said in the many threads on this topic already: if you want to have a subscription, then there is nothing preventing you from paying $15 or more per month for gems and then getting the things that this "subscription" would make available to you.
  9. The same way WvW players farm gifts of Maguuma, gifts of exploration, play the mode. But how do I play PVE mode and farm as many transmutation charges as I would if I farmed WVW afk? There are only a limited number of maps you can explore per character. Or is this another, boo you must play all game modes otherwise you are not worthy.Sure, I like to AFK farm wvw. It's anyway so sparsely populated that I no longer take away anyone's place :).Of course it's a pity for the few who still take WVW seriously, if they have a bunch of people who only do the most necessary and 80% of the time just stand around. But in the forum you get to hear again and again, play wvw x). Yes. You need to be in WvW or sPvP. But the Neat thing is, you get them JUST FROM LOGGING ON. But of course you can also buy them. See? Four easy sources of getting them. In fact, I’d love to be able to sell the 3000+ ones I have! Making trans-charges tradable would be a dream. Know a bunch of people who have so many because they hardly use them while someone like me, if the opportunity exists 100 per week is nothing ...I would also be someone who would actually buy more Gem-store skins if I could change them like I like. But buying something to use something already purchased? Or play modies that I find annoying for something exential in fashion-wars?Nah~, thanks no.And because I know that people would go back to it. I don't care how wvw or pvpler get their stuff. Because of me they can get everything you get in pve in their modies. I hate these exhausting comparisons like taking a lollipop away from a child ... This would be acceptable too... If like so many people are saying here, "It's SO EASY to farm them, I have SO many, there is no reason to ever buy them from the gem store!" Let them sell them on the Trading Post, so people who DON'T want to farm hours and hours of WvW don't have to. But.... they do sell them on the trading post. From the Wiki: "Purchased via the Black Lion Trading Company. Spent in the wardrobe to change appearance. — In-game description"
  10. Totaly different sizes of staff bettwen Anet and activision blizzard so dont expect Anet to be able to do the same as the latter one. But... but it's still an MMO. Every MMO should have the same resources despite their business model! (sigh) I really hate these comparisons.
  11. Sounds like an elite talk. That pushes more people out of the game (or aspects of the game like the raid elitists do) than anything Anet does. Insulting the player base doesn't contribute to the topic, help the game. I agree, especially with no empirical evidence at all to support the claim. Just more confirmation bias.
  12. Also, for many of us I imagine, GW2 is not our job. We don't spend many hours each and every day in the game.
  13. Once again, we cannot compare Blizzard with Anet. The reason given for not producing armor sets as they had was because of the length of time needed. Blizzard has way more resources than Anet -- they have to as a sub-based game. I, for one, would hate to see GW2 turn to a sub-based model.
  14. Flashiness is free advertising for Anet. The probably have some marketing data to support it.
  15. Anet never divulges what action, if any, is taken against individual players. They have, in the past, spoken about a number of bot accounts that have been removed.
  16. I would suspect that your situation would be in the minority. Anet is a business that exists to make money for its shareholders. Their decisions on this subject are most likely driven by numbers on a spreadsheet that tell them whether or not it is profitable to allow existing accounts to migrate to Steam.
  17. Actually, it absolutely IS a supply and demand issue. That's ALL it can be. Correct. It's a supply and demand market. Whether or not it is an issue is what is up for debate. I don't believe that it is.
  18. By "random streamer" I believe Randulf meant "someone not working for Anet"
