Which class (besides daredevil) uses staff the best?
Aravind.9610 replied to Cuddy.6247's topic in Players Helping Players
Mirage does well with staff. -
What's the point of this set? So you have health and toughness, not like you can actually do anything with it. Its a worse version of Soldier's gear.

Isnt Triple Trouble literally a raid?
Aravind.9610 replied to XenMaster.7165's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
TT isn't abandoned content on NA. 5 out of 6 slots are run by various guilds every day. One slot is even run by 2 guilds on 2 instances. -
Condi Virtuoso/Theorycrafting/Fury question
Aravind.9610 replied to Eram the Liar.5720's topic in Mesmer
Good luck, hope you enjoy your condi virtuoso. -
Basically the short version of why mech is better than ranger pets, is because mech traits and stats are all condensed into one traitline. Whereas pet traits are all over the place, so they feel incoherent. Like for example the trait that gives pets more stats is in Beast Mastery, whereas the trait that gives pets your boons is in Nature Magic.

Condi Virtuoso/Theorycrafting/Fury question
Aravind.9610 replied to Eram the Liar.5720's topic in Mesmer
The thing is, you NEED 100% crit chance for the build to work and apply tons of bleeds. In solo content you need to take Persistence of Memory and Phantasmal Fury to gain permanent Fury for 40% extra crit chance. In group content you get fury anyway so you don't need those traits. You can't get to 100% without Fury anyways, no matter how much precision you have in your gear. The idea is that you build to 60% crit chance and let the rest be given by Fury. As for bleeding duration, try to get it up as close to 100% as you can with Krait runes thrown into the mix. Here is a solo build I hastily cobbled together just now: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiABgyh3lVwQYJMWmLW6WexdA-zRRYmhUapI6p6oDjiUorC8PICRmMGmFe/tA-e -
Condi Virtuoso/Theorycrafting/Fury question
Aravind.9610 replied to Eram the Liar.5720's topic in Mesmer
Whatever you do, basically what you need is 60% crit chance as base. Put the rest in condition damage and expertise as much as you can. You will automatically get power from most gear stats. The other 40% crit chance is from Fury. I use Rampager's stats along with some Sinister's and Viper's gear stats. The main condition is bleeding so you can get runes and sigils that boost bleeding in some way, like Runes of the Krait. Aim for 60% crit chance with gear, 100% bleeding duration with gear and runes. -
Condi Virtuoso/Theorycrafting/Fury question

Yeah, which is why I said I don't know how effective your damage will be. But its the only way to maintain fury uptime in solo content. -

You can get the fury yourself only if you use Persistence of Memory from the Illusions traitline along with Phantasmal Fury in Dueling. -

YOU don't get the fury, only your phantasms do. So your crit chance isn't affected at all. -

Aravind.9610 replied to Eram the Liar.5720's topic in Mesmer
Isn't Phantasmal Fury only for the phantasm and not for the virtuoso? It doesn't affect you or your bladesongs. EDIT: Unless you use Persistence of Memory trait from the Illusions traitline, which transfers the Fury from phantasm to you once it disappears. I don't know how effective that would be for your damage. But at least you can maintain Fury with it in solo content. -

While you're on a roll, could you give me the winning lottery numbers?

I agree they should revert to the old voice actress for the LS1 and fractal versions of Mai Trin. New voice just seems like it was read off a script with no real emotion to it.

"Tank" class/build in GW2
Aravind.9610 replied to Heliamphora.1753's topic in Players Helping Players
Maybe you're thinking of mace with shield? There is such a thing as heal mechanist engineer tanking in raids, though you spend time healing more than dealing damage. For general open world purposes you can feel tanky with celestial stats on mechanist while doing some okay damage though you don't have any threat management in open world on any class. -
This used to be mortar before they reworked it into a kit. No one liked the old mortar, it was so weak and had a minimum range away from the enemy before you could use it.

Gw2 Pay to Win or Skill to Win, Core Buids Outdated.
Aravind.9610 replied to RUB RUB RUB RUBZ.9136's topic in World vs. World
And what's wrong with Anet making money? Did you expect the game to give out free content for you? Try any other MMO you want and you will see they all do the same. It isn't pay to win. -

New elite specs are on par with some of the older elite specs. What OP wants is core to be equal to elite specs in power, which is not going to and should never happen. -

Aravind.9610 replied to RUB RUB RUB RUBZ.9136's topic in World vs. World
Are you assuming people become skilled players simply because they buy an expansion? Clearly you don't because you yourself said you beat some of them while being beaten by others. Are you saying you should always win on core against someone using an elite spec? Because that is just dumb. -
Another dumb nerf mech thread without realizing the level of skill required to play it in high end content. Open World OP? So is minion master, mirage, ranger and a host of other builds. Anything can be OP in open world if built for it. You seem to assume mechanist is OP simply by existing which it is not.

No it wasn't. People bought the game and then they played it without subscription fees. The F2P mode was only added in after they released the first expansion, so people could try out the game before buying the expansion. It was just marketing for the expansion. If they don't make elite spec builds better than core, then why would PvP and WvW players buy expansions, if they can just keep up with core? You're gimping yourself to core, and that is your choice. Don't complain about "OP" elite spec builds then. -

Anet has to make money somehow. And that's by selling expansions. All MMOs do this so why pick on Anet now?
