Just a quick nitpick, guys. They're Imperators, not Emperors. Smodur isn't being pragmatic. It's one thing to kill the Charr that have become Icebrood, it's another to kill his own people that are being manipulated into thinking they're being loyal to the Charr by joining Bangar. If you pay attention to the NPCs on the new map, a lot of them are upset and worried about friends and relatives that have recently defected. Murdering them is only sending more defectors to Bangar.

It'd be interesting if they threw in a twist and we found out Smodur has been corrupted by the whispers too. Bangar is hitting from the outside and Smodur is hitting from within.

As much as I love and try to support this game, the whole armor situation is something I've had an issue with for years. Devs have been quick to mention that their systems make it very time consuming and less profitable to make full armor sets. If the systems are that bad, then they should have been rebuilt or replaced years ago with something that allows for faster production and more profit. You don't just keep building on top of a broken foundation, it's not logical.

They've hinted for quite some time that Smodur's end goal is to be Khan-Ur and he's been playing the long game to get there. Everything going on right now has thrown a huge wrench in his plans.

I feel like, if I were just myself in Tyria, I'd be powerless and easy fodder. So, I'm going to have to go with being my magic wielding character IRL. lol

He never said anything about stats. This is purely a skin issue. And yes, it does take years to get a fair amount of the weapons. I've done Tequatl on a daily basis for about 3 years, round and about, and have 6 Sunless skins in total. That's 2 per year on average. Considering there are 19 skins, it'll take about 9 to 10 years to get them all. I understand his frustration. But I agree there's nothing wrong with having skins that are only obtainable through rare RNG drops. It just sucks for OP that it just so happens to be a skin set he wants. I have the same issue now with Scion weapons. But I'm not advocating for a more guaranteed way to obtain them. Some things should require patience and dedication. This is an MMO, after all. At first, I was happy because I thought you got a Scion Weapon for every 1K chests you opened (in addition to RNG). Then I learned that was a one time thing and got very sad.

I was probably unclear. I was thinking updating/upgrading in parts, not the whole thing at once. I know they do small-medium updates alongside the release of many of their other patches. I thought maybe an expansion would allow room for a larger one this time. Like, maybe the expansion came with an upgrade to Dx12 or maybe a group of texture enhancements to bring older armor more in line with newer armor. I didn't mean the expansion + an entirely new engine. =D

The whole time I was reading this thread, I was wondering if they could use the upcoming expansion as a way to improve/upgrade things.

If you're getting responses (some people make them sound like automated responses?) saying you can't get gold back, have you tried replying to that answer with a request to get back the items you were trying to sell? Then you could sell them again and actually get your gold. It kind of sounds like it's a less complicated matter to restore actual items than for them to hand out gold.

I mean, the GW2 templates aren't finished and Anet said as much when they released them. I agree with you that, if not done well, housing could be a huge detriment.

I'm not saying it needs to be housing specifically, just something that could bring in a similar amount of money. Housing tends to be very popular in other games with quite a bit of time and money dumped into them by the players of those games.

I think Housing would be a good way to bring in money, if GW2 did it well. It seems really popular in other games and people spend a ton of time playing with them. Seems like it would help with player traffic too.

I think PvE is going to need something along the lines of player housing. It doesn't have to be housing, just something that sucks players in for a really long time like housing does in other games. It would need to be much more in depth that the Guild Halls though. As much as I liked the idea there, there were too many limits on what I could and could not do to make that space feel like it was really my guild's space and not another random map.

I didn't like that part either. I lucked out because there were other people working on it too. Two of us aggroed the enemies while the others opened the gate. Took a bit, but I wouldn't have finished otherwise.

I'm going to support new cosmetic options every time this topic pops up!

Why does the letter tell you to go near the Mystic Forge? Even with the potion, I don't see anything. I even tried jumping in the Forge

eventually, same with the Onyx and Gold Lion Weapon Choice, because outside the rare sources, which only gives a meagerly amount, Statuette can only comes from BLC Keys, and you need loads of gems to buy them = revenue for Anet I agree with you both and don't think it's a good idea. I just thought you might want to know there would probably be a secondary way later (even if it's not really a good way).

I think there's a good chance they'll show up as part of the Black Lion Statutette inventory. That happened with the Immortal Weapons.
