[Suggestions]QoL (Quality of Life) Ideas [Merged]
Ashen.2907 replied to ginryu.3026's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Not at all irrelevant. You are asking for a feature to be copied from arguably the least usefull mount to the one that already has the greatest utility. This would lessen the relative value of the Turtle. Personally I see the turtle in use in a broad spectrum of OW maps. I am assuming that this is because of the multiple rider function or aesthetics. Regardless, Ive seen no compelling justification for increasing the utility of the highest utility mount let alone at the cost of the uniqueness of a lesser mount. -

Making the turtle less useful by giving its biggest advantage to the most useful mount in the game wouldnt help with that. -
Please allow us to name our pets and mini's
Ashen.2907 replied to Tinker.6924's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I would enjoy being able to name my minipets so that my beast master themed Ranger could have have his actual pets, his minipet, and perbaps even his rune summon pet.....oh, never mind. I changed the build when I lost the summon. -

I dont think that giving the mosf versatile mount in the game features of other mounts is a good idea. Right now the Turtle has a couple of points of uniqueness. Giving one of them away to a higher utility mount seems like a bad idea. -
Man, but I didn't even get to BE disappointed by the new weapons

My employer does not get the benefits of my labor for free. I doubt that the OP works for free either. Why would anyone expect to get the fruit of another's labor without paying for it. Slavery is bad. -

For those who had legendary runes ANet did not just, "give," a 1400g legendary, they returned functionality that had been taken from players.

Not faulting you for bringing this up here but, since metabattle is not associated with ANet, you might want to consider bringing it up to them directly.

subtle graphic effects [appreciation for devs]
Ashen.2907 replied to Crystal Paladin.3871's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
This one impressed me from day one. I excitedly called my wife over to my computer to show off the effect. -
My lack of interest in something, an achievement for example, is not an indication that said something is bad. I dislike polka music, that does not make polka music bad. There was no logical flaw. When dealing with completely optional things such as an achievement the decision to pursue it is evidence, proof actually, that the individual found the reward worth the time/effort. There is no other reason, beyond someone accidentally getting the achievement I suppose, for that individual to put in the effort. The individual saw the effort, saw the reward, and chose to put in the effort. Obviously this would be a different matter entirely if the pursued item was in some way mandatory.
-
No I do not. You might want to stick with expressing what you believe rather than making false claims about others' beliefs. And the only evidence needed to support my assertion that some people found the achievement sufficiently worth their while is that some people did in fact choose to pursue the achievement. No one forced them.

I responded to the post that I quoted which expressed a hypothetical "if irrefutably bad." That hypothetical is not correct because the achieve/reward is not irrefutably bad. By definition anyone who has completed the achievement has shown that the reward was good enough for them to spend the time and/or gold. The reward would not be sufficient to tempt me because I care little for AP and do not use my (or others') home instance. I am sure that still others would find the achievement more worth pursuing if the rewards were increased (1000 ap + 500g?) but that does not mean that the existing rewards are universally bad as proven by the fact that some people considered them worthwhile.

Research Notes aren't to my liking

I've never considered going to the same place over and over and over again to be exploring. If that is exploring the I explore my bathroom every day. Perhaps thinking of my job as less a matter of, well, doing a job and instead as an adventure exploring my office...repeatedly....might add some spice. /s -

One could take a single page short story, write it so that each sentence is a separate chapter, resulting in dozens of chapters, and still only have a single page worth of material compared to a full novel, with the same number of chapters, and its 400 full pages of material. Number of chapters is irrelevant.- 311 replies

Every legendary, other than relics, give access to expac specific stats whether or not that expac is owned on the account. And then there is the fact that ANet said it would work as you did not expect.

[Poll] What are your favorite Achievement types?
Ashen.2907 replied to Ashantara.8731's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I enjoy, "Achievements," that are actual achievements requiring some degree of skill or mastery of an aspect of the game. Unfortunately there are few such in the game so I tend to ignore the achievement system. -

As long as it takes to recoup initial development costs. Anything after that is gravy.
