  1. ANET deleted support scrapper for 18 months and when they finally get to a point where some parties would use them, they nerfed it again.
  2. Mecha legs needs the 25% movement speed added back.
  3. I don't think ANET made Kaineng a host server just to get transfer dollars. I think the problem is that no one at ANET really understands what happens in WvW. They likely have a program that spits out new links based on on population. Someone then takes that and copies and pastes it into a forum post. Maybe 10 years in, someone at ANET will spend some time and learn about WvW so we don't end up with bad links consistently.
  4. I am definitely interested in trying all these changes. As long as there are frequent updates afterwards, this should be fun.
  5. BG is usually low in many of the categories. Those are weighted towards fighting and BG was always more of a fight only when needed kind of a server.
  6. Huh. Your message makes no sense. How does reducing the number of tiers eliminate servers? It doesn't.
  7. @OP: You should immediately talk about which gamemode when discussing any class. I can tell you meant conquest, but it is still good to call it out. In PvE, holo needs some really big buffs and another reason skills need to be split more between game modes.
  8. BG is just tanking a bit hoping that they get a link next matchup. Let's see if ANET is asleep at the wheel.
  9. ESO is more about the PvE. It does not compare to GW2 when it comes to combat.
  10. It is definitely odd that ANET worked on this for so long and still ended up with a design that is less efficient than arcdps or gw1.
  11. I actually think this is a good move by ANET. Good roamers fight good roamers. Zerglings fight zerglings. What was missing is a way for poor quality roamers to kill someone. Now they can pick off zerglings who aren't using a 1v1 spec. Zerglings need to pay better attention and if gives the lower quality roamers a reason to keep playing.
  12. Wow. I give the OP credit for typing all of this, but I disagree with almost all of the recommendations.
  13. @OP: ANET couldn't figure out that opening BG for that long was a bad idea. Zero chance they will spend any time on this. I don't even blame BG or the people on it. People want to win easy and going to the bandwagon is the best way to do that. I do blame ANET though IF, and this is a big IF, they want more people to play WvW. They were really dumb if so. People actively trying to tank instead of playing the game is bad all around.
  14. I'm glad ANET finally admitted that they haven't been working on alliances. They should have done that that a long time ago. It is good that they are working on it now. They should give a better update with the latest thinking on how alliances will work.
  15. @OP: Maybe 30-60 minute siege battles were fun for you. Unfortunately, those kinds of fights caused a lot of people to leave the game. People want to actually play the game, not sit around and watch those who are on siege.
  16. In general, good changes. I suggest two adjustments: Purge Gyro: This should stay at 5 pulses especially with the anti-toxin rune change.Stand your ground: This should NOT be nerfed in WvW. The stun meta isn't fun to play in. I'd leave this one as-is.
  17. The mistake that ANET made is in misreading their fan base. Yes, ANET hyped it as a living story. That said, the fact that they made it a big event led many to believe there would be something big to announce. Instead they spent 35 minutes talking about something that could have been a blog post. If ANET was smart, they would schedule an AMA as soon as possible.
  18. Unfortunately, it feels as if there isn't a strategic direction for gw2 anymore. For those of you who have been around for a while, you know that ANET used to provide high level roadmaps. It was well thought out. Now it feel like ANET is releasing content without any real direction on where to take the game. We are in a situation now where there is an announcement and everyone is disappointed because it is very minimal compared to the past. I get that this is a 7 year old game, but if they treat it like a 7 year old game, they will continue to lose people.
  19. @OP: So the entire meta is better if we buff scourge and nerf the counterplay to it? Scourge is not currently an issue in the meta. It's in a good place.
  20. My guess is there is a major divide within ANET. Half the company looked at the event last week and thought it was a wonderful event with the new "saga". The other half of the company knows that players were going to be disappointed and ANET could have just announced the saga in a blog post. If you are a PvP or a WvW player, are you going to be happy with the announcement? ANET, as a future suggestion, if you are going to host a big announcement, touch on all areas on the game, not just rehash what a lot of people already knew. Changing from a "season" to a "saga" isn't worth a big event by itself.
  21. Comments from a WvW perspective: Engi. I wouldn't change the cleansing fields on purge gyro. Every class should bring something to a zerg and for engi it is condi clears. As for sneak gyro or the purge gyro toolbelt skill, I would only change one of those. The reason sneak is a problem is because there isn't counterplay. I don't care which you switch, but I'd only do one and then monitor how it goes. Rev: I like both of those changes
  22. I think it is just sad how ANET mismanaged GW2. You essentially have dead game modes in WvW and PvP. People who stuck around this long were hoping for news. The event was hyped and then all that was announced were things everyone already knew. Very disappointing. 8/30/2019: The day ANET announced the death of GW2.
  23. Envious? No. I'm tired of seeing people tank to avoid T1. We need to more people playing WvW, not less.
