  1. What part of "the story"? The story has several parts and aspects you know? Claiming the whole story is low quality would be just false. Sure, but "story is weak" is far far less helpful than explaining what part or even what aspect of the story is weak. By just saying "it's bad" the best outcome is that devs improve the parts they think are weak. And if that's not what you meant, you keep complaining or even say they don't listen to feedback. But if you explain what of the story you think is bad, they know exactly what should be improved.
  2. There is one tiny little detail you miss. It's really not much, but it changes everything: People are not forced to do these objectives. Mindblowing, I know! Objectives in the special tab are purely optional. You don't need them to get all stuff from the vault, you get nothing special. In the end it's literally just a few gold you get. Or the "bonus" to buy 1-2 WV items you get anyways a bit earlier. So yeah, calm down. Nobody forces you to anything. And you won't really loose anything if you don't do these objectives.
  3. One sentence was repeated at one NPC. It's always interesting to see on what high level complaints about the game actually are.
  4. Monetization wasn't even the point.. I already wrote that the monetization was a bad decision and I think nobody disagrees, so what do you want to discuss about? Well, apparently OP does. It was much more than just the delay. No, it was not. With the official system you create your templates and you can swap between them perfectly fine without any problems. The addon - as already said - bugged on several occasions so you had to switch like half your gear manually. And if it didn't bug, you had to check each item manually anyways to make sure it didn't bug. Also it's didn't work well with several interactions such as combat, teleports, mounts etc. Only when you use only 1 of the 8 templates, which absolutely is not the poitn of this thread. That's a problem of the legendary armory, not the templates. Two different systems. Wrong topic. All your arguments again are only about the 8 template cap. Different words, same meaning -> "The cap of 8 is the only thing where the official templates are worse than the addon". In any other points the addon was worse. An additional points, the templates (actually loadouts) are only one part of the system. Being able to safe, load and share your builds is the other part, which is much better than what the addon had. Sure, the build storage is limited to 30 again, but unlike equipment templates the builds are just a line of letters. You can safe them anywhere you want. Let it be a txt file, your guild message and somewhere else. You can share them via chat. You can even put them on your website so people can just copy&paste them directly into the game. And - another really nice thing - you can preview them before loading. Also when loaded or when changing your traits/skills, trying aroung things, you can undo than with a single click, when you are not happy. The addon was a nice walkaround, but the templates are the fleshed out version (with a sh**y monetization/cap though).
  5. Ofcourse you can. It is a meta event. You cannot call it anything else. "But I don't need it" is no argument against existing content. lol... You really shouldn't argue facts with your personal opinion.
  6. Stay with the truth please. That addon used macros/functions that would have been against the policies. The dev worked together with an Anet dev to make it still legal, assuming they will shut down the addon as soon as Anet has an official tool for the same purpose. Anet did not "make the addon illegal so they could capitalize their own stuff". Anet made it legal for the time they had no official tool. If Anet did nothing, that addon would have been illegal from the begin on. If you used the template addon, you should be grateful Anet allowed that, instead of accusing them for "making it illegal". Do you remember that addon correctly? Because what it did was nothing else but automatically swapping your stats etc. by "hand". It took time, it bugged out every now and then, so you always had to check everything manually anyways and so on. Equipment templates on the other hand are literal loadouts. You have you gear on that slot, no matter what happens. You can swap from and to it, even per hotkey, you can set your skins for each template individually and it's safe. No manually checking after each swap needed. The templated are definitely not flawless. The monetization is annoying and the limit should be higher than 8, but it's definitely better than the addon we had back then.
  7. We got a new meta, new convergence bosses, a new strike cm, tons of new achievements, legendary armor, legendary relic, new weapons for each class ( -> leads to new builds -> more variety in gameplay) and more. Idk, if you say "no real endgame content" it looks like you just don't like the content. Which is okay, it's a matter of taste. It's kinda weird to argue with "GW1 had so much more", because that's what burned out the devs so fast they stopped after Nightfall, slowed down and cut stuff with EotN. If you want to say that GW2 has no content, then you play the game wrong I would say. And if it's just about flexing, a city or lounge is much more effective than any endgame content anyways. lol You may need to change your perspective. Or take a longer break. Sounds like you played til burnout.
  8. There are weapon master achievements as well! -> "Kill 100 enemies with a shield"
  9. Either by integrating ears and horns in the helmet design (which is the better way) or - as you said - by removing ears and horns (which would be the less good way). I mean, they did both already in other armors, they know how to deal with such issue. In my opinion such details (same for Asura ears and toes) should be considered for this armor. It's a legendary after all.
  10. I like the change. But the ear and horn clipping should still get fixed.
  11. I don't really get what the point of this post is. I mean, it's purely subjective if you like an armor or not. Some will agree, some will disagree. There is no base for a discussion about taste, is it?
  12. I never wrote that. Dude, stop quoting me wrong... What the heck!...
  13. I answered to what you wrote. If your "point" is different to what you wrote, you should improve your writing skills. 🤦‍♀️ Apparently I'm not the only one who "just misunderstood your message". Nice distraction from the actual point btw. 😉
  14. Ehm.... yes it was? That's exactly what you said: I used your words. Your point. That's your point now. You didn't write anything like that in the comment I quoted. lol As for your new point: Why should new players have to decide in the first place? Did you have to decide? Did anyone ever have to decide? Each mastery is useful at least for a certain part of the game (a certain map for example). New players will go through all of these parts, so all masteries they unlock will be useful at some point. There simply is no have to pick only the most useful masteries. They don't have to decide. You can get all of them without problems. And if anyone wants do decide to not train a certain a certain mastery line, they will be able to read what these masteries do. Master effects are not described overly complicated after all. You mean like the ability to improve your equipment even more, gain greater effects from fractal potions or interacting with Mistlock Singularity, which resets all your cooldowns, gives you additional AR and prevents your next downstate? Isn't that your original statement? -> You want stuff for free, without any effort. Again, that's not how games work. 🙂 I think you need to understand that not all masteries exist to reinvent the wheel. Some are stronger, some are less strong. Some are bound to certain maps/content, some are useful everywhere. Some masteries give you new abilities, some improve your existing ones. You are specially upset about masteries that unlock stuff and improve existing abilities. I think you should understand that masteries in the end are a replacement for the level treadmill. Instead of leveling to get better stats with each expansion, you level to get other things, like better abilities on your mount, access to certain vendors or access to more rewards. Nobody claims that all masteries are perfect or necessary, but at least in my opinion all of them are better than adding a new level cap and getting nothing from leveling other than a few bonus stats (and more power creep in the end).
  15. Neither you need to do rifts to level your rift mastery nor do you need to do convergences to level your convergence mastery. You can gain exp and mastery points from everywhere in the expansion. It's not "farm rifts/convergences to farm rifts/convergences more efficiently". It's "gain experience from wherever you like in the expansion to unlock better rewards from rifts/convergences". Huge difference. I mean, it's not like a new player hits level 80 and get overwhelmed with all masteries. Nope. You hit level 80 and get access to the core tyria masteries. First HoT masteries aren't unlocked until you start the HoT story. Other mastery lines additionally require entering certain maps to be unlocked. Each PoF mastery unlocks one by one whenever you gain the respective mount. IBS masteries unlock with the IBS story (or by gaining the first IBS mastery point). EoD masteries are unlockes step by step when playing the story. Same for Soto. So yeah, new players won't get overwhelmed at all. They get a new mastery line introduces one by one while they progress in the game. Maybe you "knowing the game inside out" is the problem at this observation. With that knowledge, you will choose the most efficient way to unlock the most beneficial masteries. Starting the HoT story to unlock gliding, starting the PoF story to access the desert and buy mounts, rushing through EoD story til skiff and jade bot is unlock or alike. This way ofcourse you will unlock a ton of masteries and you have to level them at the same time. But that's not what new players do at all.
  16. It's called progession. But what content exactly couldn't you play together? So you did play together... Your friend just did not get the bonus chests. It is as I said -> You want stuff for free without any effort.
  17. Tldr: "I hate masteries, because I want all features for free without any effort". That's not how games work.
  18. To me it sounds like they talk about meta event weeklies. Don't know if they are problematic. They aren't my favorite weeklies (because of the set time) though. Would be odd to me if they removed all expansion objectives. What I could think of is that they "synchronize" the non-expansion objectives between the versions. Making it so at least the non-expansion objectives are the same no matter what expansion you own. Instead of having completely different objectives depending on your expansions. It's just speculation though.
  19. Doesn't all this sums up to "I want to make a new char, but I don't want to pay for a char slot"?
  20. A text on the screen should be the minimum. As for training, there should be a training ground for several mechanics in general. The training ground in EoD is nice and includes dodging, CC and combo fields. However, the problem is it's in EoD and that's not a place new players visit early. The special training area could be perfect for this purpose. Green mechanics, CC, combo fields, all the ley line abilities many champions/legendary bosses have, maybe even some raid/strike mechanics. All this could be trained there.
  21. It's not about screenshot. OP didn't deliver anything. They claim this "bug" happened and the only thing they gave us is what they think to remember from 9 years ago. There are dozens of plausible explanations of what could have happened, but nope, OP claims it was a bug. Because you don't talk or walk for years, right? Sorry, that comparsion is nonesense. Ofcourse memories fade over time, denying that is just big nonesense. No matter how important a moment is, a birthday, the first kiss, a concert, memories are fading. And less important memories fade faster. With that said, you remembering wrong is not the only issue. Even if you remember perfectly fine, it doesn't help if you misinterpreted the information you had back then. When you mix up things, it's still mixed up when you remember it. You said yourself at that time you were new to the game and didn't understand things. it's still ~2,700,000 luck this would require -> ~250 MF. New players don't get such large amount that easy. Even for experienced players it takes long or is expensive. As someone who keeps Essences of Luck for Lunar New Year I can say that I personally gathered ~800,000 luck over the last year.
  22. Tbf, most likey OP is just not accurate on that. I don't think it was exactly 140 either. OP probably just rounded numbers for the sake of clarity. Plus they said it was 9 years ago, so they probably don't remember the exact numbers. This. My first thought is that OP mixed up the actuall MF value with the luck progression value. The luck resets every time it's full, so it would fit perfectly into what OP described. Second thought is boosts. Using a boost without reading or food and your MF get's bumped, but "resets" after they run out. Silverwastes gives 30% magic find for each event done and stack up to 150%. You loose that buff and your MF "resets" whenever you leave the map. This comes pretty close to what OP describes. Silverwastes was the latest content 9 years ago.
