  1. People are definitely sleeping in heal scrapper. You can tailor quite nicely to suite the fight between utilities and traits. It’s very robust. Give elixir gun tool belt skill aegis and the build would be perfect.
  2. To be fair. A lot of boon heal and boon dps builds don’t function too well underwater. But if you need a healer for aquatic fractal the issue is going to be with your group rather than an individual. it’s often better to tackle this fractal as 5 dps. I think kicking a mech healer when you accepted them into your group knowing mech doesn’t work underwater is really uncool.
  3. Very confused with the way they previewed it. Didn’t seem like the same approach they took to every other weapon. Such a let down, all the other weapons looked so good in comparison.
  4. It seems a bit mean spirited for them to have targeted pistol on this really. The only reason condi holo had become so good was all the extra burning they added to it a few patches ago, it would have been much more reasonable to simply strip that all back again and call it a day. Condi mech is a really nice build and got hit unfairly with this one.
  5. Traditionally we have seen 4-5 added each expac with a mixture of new creature types and new versions of existing ones. I think as long as we see at least 1 usable somewhat unique pet like jacaranda, white tiger or smokescale that has a significant impact on build options there will be no reason to complain.
  6. I'll be honest, i think the elite skill slot is the least interesting slot for every class, there are so few elite skills that actually feel defining or exciting, especially in pve. You get very little choice in the slot and often times the one added by an elite spec is just the best choice, or there is one core option that overshadows all others by quite a distance. I think it would be an interesting experiment to allow the elite slot to have any utility skill in it much the same way as the 3rd traitline can be elite or not. I don't believe we would see any significantly overpowered options come to light, but it would allow a little more tailoring of builds where none of the elite skills really fit very well, or allow another space to bring specific utility tools that can sometimes be hard to fit onto builds.
  7. Mainhand mace should be reworked into a 900 range thrown weapon
  8. I'm not really sure why people have issues with how to make gold in GW2, it is truly that raw gold itself comes in at a much lower rate through general play than something like WoW, but everything in this WoW guide for making gold LINK can pretty much be applied to GW2 as well. Salvaging is probably the biggest difference but that is a relatively simple aspect of the game really. If anything the process is easier in GW2 as the trading post is global and you can use instant buy/sell, also having the material storage and instant deposit is also very helpful. I think my only question here would be if GW2 is more complicated to make gold in then what are you comparing it to?
  9. renewed focus is likely too strong when it comes to willbender because of the amount of power willbender virtues contains. Firebrand in pvp as a whole is not particularly menacing or problematic. Core and DH virtues are nowhere near as critical to the build. Just like they reduced renewed justice to 20% reduction for firebrand i would think that reducing renewed focus to between 30-50% cooldown reduction for willbender virtues would be acceptable. It would be a simple power shave that wouldn't impact the playstyle of the build as much as just slow it down a little.
  10. Something i think alot of people skipped over is that the soo-won encounter essentially lets us directly fight all the dragons, they use signature attacks, summon their champions and each feel different. I feel like this was essentially their answer to those that didnt like that we mostly indirectly defeated each elder dragon. As far as Zhaitan goes i think it actually has the most explanation and strategy behind killing any of the dragons, we enacted a very careful strategy and cutting off his magic supply, killing his champions and building specific weaponry to destroy him. It gets across the idea that the dragons are not something we can fight directly due to their immense power and the fact that modremoth directly counters the air ships and ley line cannons is actually really well written and then entering his mind to lobotomize him is a different approach . Kralkatorrik required us to literally throw everything at him to finally bring him down and even though it is rushed through, the idea that we needed to force jormag and primordus to fight each other is already set up in season 3 so works well as a clear strategy. I don't believe the original personal story is as weak as people think really.
  11. My Wife is having the same issue as this in our guild hall (also isle of reflection) half the time if she talks to a npc it crashes her game, this need to be looked at as it's making it hard to do stuff in there
  12. I'm finding it hard to believe that it is intended that you can only receive the items like https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Untamed's_Stamp on the first daily kill of the meta as the item is within the daily bouncy chest. No where does it indicate that this is the case so it's possible to waste quite a bit of time on a meta only to receive no drop. I don't see a reason why this would be the case as there's zero exploitative behaviour to being able to complete multiple specialization weapons in a single day. It's a very frustrating bug/feature, is there any chance this can be changed to be contained in the magnificent chest for the event instead?
  13. Actually shocked by the poll results. I find EoD is far ahead of both other expansions. HoT story is artificially drawn out and many of the chapters are not fun to replay, the elite specs in a release state I think are the least interesting overall, the maps really aren't that nice to play but they have iconic meta events with big rare rewards. It also released with quite a limited amount of other content. PoF has the best masteries and probably the best overall elite specs in terms of adding real flavour. The story has much better than HoT to play through but there' still some sections that feel annoying to reply. The maps and metas were not great and replayability outside of getting the gryphon at release was pretty low. EoD has a good flow to it's story and there's less busy work and drawn out sections, the amount of talking can be irritating but I use the down time productively on extra play throughs. The elite specs all play well in the content and it's the only expansion to have actual end game style group content. The maps are good and the metas are fine if a bit lacking on the rewards. There's more systems of grind and replayability built in, decent masteries and by far the best music.
  14. Untamed is almost the spellbreaker of EoD with the amount on control and boonstrip it has
  15. 2 options - you either fail to see how strike missions are infinitely better than raids or fractals as a system, or this is just a troll thread.
  16. This is almost guaranteed to happen don't worry. We have seen 0 balance to existing trait lines and skills based on any of the upcoming elite specs and the complete absence of any 10 man support on the new specs all but confirms that they will be doing away with most or all 10 man skills. An alternative is that in instanced pve we might see boons scale to the content instead as that would be another brilliant way to smooth out the complexities of team comps. We almost certainly will be seeing a final balance pass on the new elite specs regardless and at that point it will likely be time to pull the trigger on any further reaching balance changes. We have yet to see if any new stat combos are being added and have also not seen any new runes or sigils so there's quite a significant amount of buildcraft on the table that might make the current situation make more sense. Additionally we already know that encounter design is quite different in EoD so it's also possible that the current design of some specs might make more sense in that environment.
  17. It would be interesting to see what everything would look like if you removed boons from the game
  18. Some changes that might help - change Aegis and Stab to be self only boons - now a single FB no longer allows the whole group to ignore every major attack - reduce the stationary damage on torment in pve to (0.075 * Condition Damage) + 26.8 - the torment change is too potent in pve when its easy to have a boss stand still and allows celestial alac renegade and scourge to over perform on damage for the amount of utility and support they bring - remove the damage increase from https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Amplified_Wrath - FB burning is very potent and this helps reign it in while still allowing you the option of bringing https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Wrath and even traiting with https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Perfect_Inscriptions for team burst during exposed at the expense of dropping a defensive utility skill - epidemic is an iconic but overly powerful and unique skill that needs a complete redesign - if you consider any place where epidemic is really useful there is no other comparable alternative as nothing else can apply so many conditions in such quantity to 5 targets on such a low cooldown. - good discussion above on possible changes
  19. Tattoos are kind of a special aspect of Norns, Charr get fur patterns, sylvari and asura also have patterns, its only really humans that don't get any special stuff but to be fair they have alot more faces and hair than any other race.
  20. I think the bloated PoF specs set a dangerous level of expectation for elite specs. I think everyone was hoping for their class to be the next firebrand or scourge in terms of game-wide power or to get pure power jumps like soulbeast and holosmith saw where they were essentially just adding loads of extra stuff right on top of the core classes. Something like Dragonhunter or Tempest is a much better example of where an elite spec design should lie and i think the EoD ones are very much good examples of this.
  21. This was my thought too, i just don't understand the OP at all, we get 5 guild slots, so there is ample space to add a guild for your friends to join so you can wvw together.
  22. I think that such a thing is open to either abuse in what people puts into their box and would require alot of constant moderation. Or it opens up people to being abused due to the content they put in their box. For a feature that would be used by a very small number of people for the intended purpose i just don't see the reason to put time and effort into this one
  23. There's alot of alternate sources of mirage cloak across the utility skills and mirage cloak itself gets alot of effects tied to it through traits. Mirage also unlike Chrono gets to keep distortion which can also be traited to create a mirror. Mirrors last 8 seconds so its possible to play around them quite effectively and use them when needed. Remember mirage cloak also does not interrupt any action so is also much superior to a typical dodge just by that nature.
  24. Mirage was another example of very bloated design philosophy in the PoF elite specs. Moving it to a single dodge was the right way to balance the class since the spec mechanic of the mirage mirrors easily gives you those dodges back. I'm pretty sure oriignally they just never considered dropping to a single dodge as a possible design choice but i think if mirage was designed now it would be given one dodge. I would say that mirage cloak, fire brand tomes, scourge f skills, full counter, soulbeast f skills, photon forge, were all mis-designed at PoF release and still represent a big barrier for balancing those elite specs effectively. This is why the EoD elite specs seem a little underwhelming still because they are much closer to the HoT specs with much less bloated and more finely targeted features such as druid CA form, daredevil's triple dodge, berserker mode, tempest's overloads, and reaper shroud.
