  1. I suggest you test it yourself. Get few stacks, anchor, jump off and let the timer expire then board the skiff again. As some others said, for me it will keep the stacks even if the timer expired. Even the wiki says so: "As long as the skiff survives you can regain the buff by reboarding it."
  2. Why? That's a big question. So many people react emotionally and like to support group opinions in search of acceptance, often subconsciously. Also there's the general misconception that their opinion matters so they argue about stuff like this. Altho here it might actually make some difference, but in the end it's still Anet that makes the decisions.
  3. Players here will tell you that the devs don't know what they are doing. In reality Anet has much more accurate picture of the statistics and balance so if they change something there is a reason behind it. Personally I think it's strange how many claim to know better, but then again it's pretty much the same in most game forums. Ps. "the GAEM is DED!"
  4. I've never lost the stacks when near my skiff even when the timer runs out. Often I anchor the skiff then mount skyscale and ascend to go afk (habit) and when I come back the skiff's still there and I regain the stacks when I board it. No idea if this is the way it's supposed to work but it always worked like this for me. I've also seen people say their skiff despawns when the timer runs out but that has never happened to me.
  5. That sounds strangely low FPS. What is your character model limit setting? I always recommend turning it down to low/lowest since it has a huge impact on FPS. Playing on high end system with good connection I get 60-100+ FPS on 49" 1440p widescreen. Depends greatly on the number of players/effects around me, so it might drop down to 60 in a crowded meta etc. but can get to 120 or so if there's no one else around.
  6. Thank you for informing about this. I can see LWS 2 complete pack listed for 16€. Hopefully they will add the other seasons later.
  7. I use the wardrobe system (bank/crafting station tab) to find good looking skins and then check the wiki how to get them. As for back item dyeability: most of the new ones are dyeable, but older ones are not. Anet changed this at one point since it was requested a lot and they probably saw that dyeable gem store skins sell better. As for changing the old ones, the default answer given is that it would require a lot of work to recode the items.
  8. Answer to both questions is yes. You can remove and plant different seeds any time (but only harvest them once per day, so can't keep replanting and harvesting). And you can plant different seeds in any of the 4 plots (max is 3 sets so 4x3 = 12 plots total.) Ascended seeds are one time use but regular ones (you buy from gardening vendor) grow daily without needing to plant new seeds.
  9. Many backpacks are account bound or gem store skins so you won't find many in the trading post. There's plenty of backpack skins to choose from (you can also view these ingame in bank wardrobe tab).
  10. HoT was harder when it was released and I still managed to play it. I took it as a learning experience, to tune my builds and tactics, and to move more in to group play. I'd say season 3 is worth it. In total it unlocks six new maps: Bloodstone Fen, Ember Bay, Bitterfrost Frontier, Lake Doric, Draconis Mons and Siren's Landing. I still farm many of these for the currencies, eg. winterberries are easy way to obtain ascended ring, accessory and backpack (plus asc breathing apparatus).
  11. Found this from the wiki: "You can obtain the food ahead of time, but if you have all 12 pieces before unlocking the collection, you will need to right-click the treats and select "Add to Item Collection Achievements." Link: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skyscale/Walkthrough
  12. Do you mean dusk and dawn? Because dusk to dawn = night-time. If you try to catch dusk/dawn fish thru the whole night most of that time is wasted effort. Both dusk and dawn last 5 min in real time and that's your chance to catch the taimen. See: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Day_and_night#Day-night_cycle
  13. Almost every time they make changes there are those who say 'yay!' and those who say 'nay!' so it's hard to please everyone. Some players have requested less currency clutter - I'd say this change falls under that category. Plus it'll make old dungeons more active - another requested thing since there have been complains about not finding groups. As for not listening the players, I see more of the opposite trend tbh. For example the DE meta changes and adding turtle egg vendor, dawn/dusk and saltwater fishing drop rate buffs to name few. The communication is also better now than what it used to be, eg. commenting on the forums, more news and updates - I hope they keep this going. But in the end it's their game so they can do as they please, and we agree to it by accepting the ToS/EULA. Edit: Playing thru the dungeons (to unlock the rewards) also helps new players to orient themselves better to end game content like fractals and raids. This is another requested thing as in the game needs to do better job with helping players learn the mechanics.
  14. I'd say this is true everywhere. Most folks just want to live their lives and I don't blame them because in the end that is the most important life for each of us. However, I do agree with the premise that people should help eachother more when/if they are able. When it comes to GW2, in my experience the game's population is generally more helpful than people irl. To me it looks like every player in that thread is trying to help. If you mean the support team, then they can't help you achieve ingame goals or with health issues since they are not medical professionals.
  15. When thinking about the amount of effort it takes to get the Cod Swimming Amongst Mere Minnows achievement please consider adding fishing rod replacement as a reward from it. As I understand it the only actual fishing rod is the one you get when you unlock fishing (from Old Fishing Rod) and all the other rods are skins for it. If it was a replacement for the actual rod it could be +50 fishing power one, so +25 added to the original. The new rod could be Aurene themed (similar to the legendary weapon looks) or perhaps a Soo-Won themed one. Thank you. Edit, in case anyone is wondering: I do know about the Spiritwood rod but that one is also a skin without any added benefit other than very cool look. I feel the rewards from doing this enormous effort are quite underwhelming.
  16. I think I used this gw2timer page when I was doing the achievement. Click on the event under Arctodus to see the possible locations on the map. However, they can spawn outside of the set time.
  17. From the May 24th game update notes: "Research Kits now have a Research Stack option in their right-click menu."
  18. What about someone with max toons (72)? Would "only" take 2160 gold to buy those cores.
  19. Depends what you want really. I'm using treasure hunter (shows chests on minimap) and jade sliver recycler. The latter because it also works on cheap fished up junk. Most give one sliver, but there's few 4-6 ones and broken spyglass is the jackpot @ 200-220 slivers. I did try few of the others like gliding and mount energy boost but imo the benefit was quite insignificant. As for cores, I have one tier 10 in shared inv slot and tier 1 ones equipped on all my toons. You can swap the core without workbench.
  20. Ranger is my favorite but I played only warrior for a long time. When I came back for PoF I made ranger and necro. Nowdays I have one of each class so if one gets boring I can play another.
  21. I know what you mean since I used to play healer almost exclusively in WoW. (Chain heal ftw!) Healers are needed in certain content: namely wvw, fractals, strikes and raids. The primary role of healer is keeping buffs they can provide up (eg. might, quickness, alacrity etc) and the secondary role is to heal. In raids usually there's a primary healer and secondary one(s). Ranger, guardian, elementalist, necromancer and in wvw the engineer are commonly used. Thief's new specter elite spec is also very viable choice. I have heal specs on many classes since I like to swap when it's needed, even in open world group events it can be very handy.
  22. It's the story and exploration I love most in games and I enjoyed both in EoD. I also like the skiff/fishing combination but I doubt anything can top the mounts from PoF. As sidenote: I think Tangled Depths is the best designed area in the game, followed by the beautiful looking Seitung.
  23. I'd rather have them make more of the pet novelties for this purpose. Currently there's Pet Skyscale Whistle and Pet Dog Whistle: Basenji. You can also get Desert Fox companion to play with in Sun's Refuge.
  24. On a positive note; for me the credit card payment works fine now. I had issues with it before, that being the reason I started using paysafe.
  25. RNG is what it is. For me it took a long time to catch Chambered Nautilus and even longer to get Swordfish. I'd say Muskellunge was the hardest but seems like the buff for dawn/dusk fish droprate helped since I caught it quite easily after the patch. It was the last one I needed.
