  1. Just because you had the no mount icon doesn't mean the player did OP. There might be an area where he was mounting up not considered part of the no mount zone.
  2. The magical items are utterly grotesque and completely against every visual choice I have made for my Revenant. I love them.
  3. Imagine being a professional artist and not knowing that environmental upscale is a requirement in 3rd person games? Go read about what happened when Blizzard tried making WoW to scale originally - everything was far too cramped for the camera.
  4. I'm hearing Idris Ewohhl-Bah. We need Idris Elba to voice the silent protagonist option.
  5. Phwoar that's dangerous territory. I actually also avoid the human male characters, they're almost comically gungho or plastic baby dolls. Nothing inbetween.
  6. Almost entirely off topic, but your "Surrey, but not the posh bit" reminded me of a friend of mine who is from Exeter. Everytime anyone asked where he was from I'd butt in and tell them he was from the posh part of Essex. It used to drive him up the wall.
  7. Cis white males? Are you suggesting that race implies how someone sounds? Because that's... Well, racist.
  8. It's a bit tricky because while people can have the same name IRL, it's not something that's easy to change for the sake of trolling. In GW2 you need only make a new character to use someone else's name who you don't like and cause all sorts of confusion. Name decay won't work either, since players of those old accounts might come back. No doubt there are throwaway accounts taking up some names, but honestly how many of those do you suppose have names that anyone would want? It'd be easier to allow the use of special characters or numbers tbh.
  9. I've not tried mace/axe yet, I grabbed staff mostly for the dash. My mace/axe skins are much better though. And that's a serious consideration for a game mode where mashing the keyboard is also totally a valid play style.
  10. Trying this out in Silverwastes / general open world with some celestial armour i had lying around. I also had some ascended trinkets without stats assigned so I went ahead and converted to celestial. I had been meaning to make a WvW build with Marauder's anyway, so something effective in WvW with open world utility seemed interesting. My main set is, obviously, Diviners to get into Fractal groups. I have to say, even in open world it's fun. I saw a thief getting eaten by mordrem and for the first time, realised I could save them. The projectile blocking is great too. Am undecided on runes and sigils thus far, and on whether to stick with staff or double sword. Staff is pretty great for mullering groups of mobs that are about to get out of control though.
  11. You could start again, as the personal story is neat minus the Destiny's Edgelord bits. Unfortunately, the Living World episodes up to HoT are atrociously awful, with Taimi and Braham just being utterly obnoxious 100% of the time, and Rox doing absolutely nothing to liven the atmosphere. At least post PoF you get to battle Joko, and Taimi's/Brahams/basically everyone's teenage hissy fit acting is offset by Canuck's excellent wit. I'd skip the Living World nonsense... Unless you want a legendary precursor, in which case you gotta suffer. I just finished Dry Top's drudgery and survived by clicking through the dialogue and muting Taimi's sharktoothed whinging.
  12. His hair grew longer because it's trying to get away from all his whining.
  13. Then they'd be wrong wouldn't they. A casual game is something that doesn't require a great deal of skill or effort to play, hence "casual". GW2 might be lacking for new content, but the high end content that's there is just as challenging as in any other MMORPG.
  14. 5 for me as well - I think the oriental aesthetic is rather played out in games and TV at this point. The only way it could have been more cliche is if they'd gone for a new retro sci-fi pink/neon/blue/black palette. I also vehemently dislike Aurene. On the other hand, ANet brought us the rather brilliant HoT maps, so there's definitely hope to be had. I do like a proper challenge and I'm optimistic that we'll get something closer to HoT difficulty at launch instead of PoF's absolute cake-walk.
  15. I see GW2 described as casual a lot, but it's not really. GW2 offers a lot of difficult content, and there's a metric kitten-load of stuff to farm if that's what you want. What GW2 is though, is an MMO done *right*. It only feels casual because it's actually fun to play even if all you are doing is the WoW equivalent of dailies. Unlike other MMOs GW2 manages to make playing feel enjoyable instead of a compulsory chore. The "Legendary Mythic Miasma God Breaker Beardy Bellend+++" items in GW2 are cosmetic, so as you rightly point out - you can just drop them for a while and come back without having lost progress. Also, I don't remember the last time employees staged a walk out in protest of the kitten way they were being treated. ANet did axe half their staff, but I do get the impression that they're pretty decent to work for. So, you know, I don't mind throwing $$ at them knowing the people who make all this cool stuff aren't having a terrible time of it.
  16. That's what you get when you order footwear over the internet, it never fits the way you want it to!
  17. Yeah no thanks to GS, so overused. Pistols would be nice.
  18. I didn't think much of Renegade to be honest, but it turned out fair enough... A while later. I just hope this next spec is a bit more inspired. The Mesmer spec is neat, it has a bit of a MOBA feel to it with the rather succinct mechanics and various skill shots. I don't mind if we get dual daggers, I have a couple of skins for those I've been itching to try out. We already have pretty good ranged abilities with Renegade bow and hammer isn't terrible. I'm actually most concerned about the visual design of the expansion: "Asian" styles tend to be, for whatever reason, extremely ridiculously eye wateringly cluttered in video-games. The preview screenshots didn't help - each was absolutely filled woth bloom and colour-vomit. And you just know the music is going to be black piano note ultracheese. But hey, could be wrong. I loved the article ANet published recently about the Canthan language.
  19. I got Tequatl's Hoard about two months into doing the event maybe five times a week. It was a bit of a slog. I occasionally think aboit reskinning one of my swords but I also have various SAB weapons to show off, which actually required skill to obtain. I'd pack it in OP, there's plenty of better skins out there with more prestige.
