Willbender has super mobility, super damage, and super sustain. The god-mode herald.

After all the years of MMO gaming, it's crazy to see developers making the same errors....  There's just no real excuse for poor Class balance.  Sure, you might not get it perfect, but having Classes that are miles apart in abilities makes no sense.

All this 'best players' stuff makes no sense because GW2 isn't that kind of MMO were skill truly comes into play.  I've played enough WvW to know players aren't doing anything skill wise, it just comes down to 1, are they a cheat enhancing themselves and 2, are they on one of the better Classes compared to yours.

I've seen enough Elementalist players basically doing nothing but moving around and "AOE'ing" eveybody else down to know it's a situation were you're facing a Classes that is overpowered compared to yours.

If you compare the Willbender to the "Necro", any Necro Meta build, it's not hard to see that the Necro just does not stand up to the Willbender.

All the Necro abilities are so lowly implemented, none of them really provide anything outside of PvE.

Necro Boons are weak and too short...  The Class kills itself with its own abilites....  It can't stack as much power as other Classes like the Willbender....   The 'Condi' concept is broken in PvP/WvW because of cleansing and resistance....  The Class doesn't have great mobility....  Necro attacks do not hit hard; scepter, axe, focus...you name it, all weak sauce attacks and slow....  Shroud is nothing special, weak as far as DPS so it's just extra health....  Necro traits are garbage, like parasitic congnition because 5% health conversion on conditional damage does nothing at all....  Doesn't matter how much toughness you have as a Necro, you always take enormous damage from other Classes and your protection boons are too weak to give you anytyhing....  Not enough stability for all Necro builds, implemented in a way that makes sense....

The "Devs" removed a trait from Scourge that allowed the Necro to steal stripped boons and replaced it with basically nothing.  One second of aclarity (or what ever) with a nothing barrier is NOTHING!  That's not making the Class better, it is clearly further destruction of the Necro Class!  Now the "Devs" wanna say the Necro should be support...what if players on Necro don't want to play support?  As "Devs" you can't force one Class into a role or what's the point in having so many build types/traits/specs...?

This is why MMOs suck...   Developers that DO NOT know what they're doing!

The only reason you make it in PvE with Necro is because PvE NPCs are not powered up like human players on other Classes because if they were, you'll be dying all the time in PvE on a Necro.

There's just no excuse for any Class to be that pathetic compared to other Classes, so it's clear the 'Devs" just have something against the "Necro" Class and refuse to make the Class compete with other Classes; which is even more pathetic because as developers, you can't go and hate on your own works...especially when you're bad at development to begin with.

Willbender is a decent spec but by no means breaking the game. The main damage skills it has are all very telegraphed and can thus be outplayed with skill. Once you understand that you can avoid their main burst by quickly removing the immob and then dodging or just blocking ( WillB's don't really have much for unblockable attacks ) you can avoid their biggest damage combos. It's also not actually that much better than Herald, it's just easier to play because it does the same thing but with cooldowns instead of revs more complex energy system. 

Now in WvW on the other hand, the sustain they get is a bit much. There WillB roam really is a direct upgrade over Herald roam, but you posted this in the PvP forum so yeah no.

I felt like eventually during HoT, elite specs hit an okay point
But then PoF launched, and they had to create something even bigger, and it was boon application and the ability to just poop out damage everywhere/ability spam. Look at like, Holo or SpB early on, or FB/Scourge, whatever.

Where is there to go after that? The only thing really left at that point to powercreep is mobility for a lot of the classes. That's how you get willbender, harb, teleport on untamed, the dragon trigger spamming bsw, and more. There's some other things too like auras, sustain/eHP/invulns, but a ton of the EoD specs were just like "x, but ZOOMIN"

as i've talked about many times on this forum, i think its really hurt the game. alot of the competitive aspects were balanced around its slowness, and easy access to quickness, shorter casting times with less tells, and all the mobility creep has degraded the gameplay by a significant margin. for example one-shot builds always existed, but they had severe limitations and couldn't just port to you, stun you and kill you in seconds.

 

there's only two builds that even came close to this: early 2010s one-shot backstab thief, and late 2010s stealth one-shot mesmer, both of which were very situational. now its just something that almost every class can keybind and button mash to execute, with "just dodge" being the advice given by the players using it, and of these willbender is probably the easiest but not necessarily the worst. occasionally you had a gunflame warrior memeing.

 

its become so bad that the 33% damage nerf is barely even noticeable anymore, almost like it never happened.

 

i want to go back to the days when players were complaining about permanent swiftness uptime because someone always running at +33% movement speed and being "hard to catch" was once seen as one of the most unbalanced aspects of pvp ever introduced.

Necro curruption was a very badddd nurf on necro. Necros whole role was peeling to secure the kill or team mates kite. Or open a kill window turning that swiftness or stab over, nurfing curruption took away necros whole identity. Dont care if they take sustain dont care if they nurf dps.... dont care if they nurfed bunkring scourge or 1v1 mm but deleting curruption showed they dont really play the game they are just employees working in a office. Necro has no role or use in pvp. Better dps to pick better 1v1ers better moble roles to pick and now its useless in team fighting...
