There are a Lot Mini Games already in this Game, but you could add some Classics.

- chess

- Domino

- some dice Games

- some Card Games

- Roulette (we have a Casino already! (Poker and Blackjack toooo))

You could also add so small Bet stuff (Limited to 1-10 gold).

You Mini Games already are pretty cool and divirse, these examples should (hopefully) be easy to implement and increase the Sandbox playground that the Game already has, by a big margin.

But it has to fit into the lore. And be placed in an appropriate place. I can think of fun lore, like chess with humans vs. charr pieces, but I'm not sure where in Tyria to place it. Or if any NPCs would play it, since fitting into lore would mean that the NPCs would be playing it or hosting it themselves. Unless it's a gemstore-bought game, in which case lore goes out the window.

There are betting events already, like the aurillium bid in the Auric Basin meta or the cursed ecto gambling.

I guess for many players, such as the OP, this type of additional content would be very welcome.

But, and speaking only for myself here, I really think Anet's resources could be better spent elsewhere. Some examples:

Truly fix the divisive mess they created with Mechanist.

Fully come to terms and understanding with their own creation, the Mesmer.

And get with some real fixes and balances that all classes, and the game, need.

Anet gave us 3 modes; it's time all 3 got the attention they deserve in equal measure.

All games have their FotM classes, but for the love of The Six, stop making gods of some classes and all but completely neutering others. Then swapping them around when the mood suits and/or player pressure builds.

GW2 has 2 types of "end-game" content: the acquisition of glowy, sparkly items and skins (and yes, we all know Anet needs to make a buck and so the Gem Store must thrive); and actual content such as raids, Fractals, and Strikes. I'd even really love to see a resurgence in dungeons (keep dreaming, Duglaive). There always seems to be resources for the former, however lazy the apparent effort is at times. On the other hand, the emphasis on Strikes and the creation of Emboldened Mode surely signals the "lack of resources" on Anet's end for end game content one actually plays.

So yeah, in my eyes anyway, their plate is rather full without adding the creation mini-games of any sort - much less games based on gambling - to GW2.

Idk they keep spending their recources on games balance rn and the progress goes one step forward and 2 steps back. Like for how long rn they are even focused on the balance but stuff like old cfb meta->old scourge with pre nerf epi->rifle mech and mech in general, it keeps happening, they try to balance the game but its only a spec which is beeing stacked changes, i wouldnt be surprised that after pmech it will be virtuoso taking its place and after it there will be yet another spec about which people will be crying on forums and "how they would rather see resources spent on games balance". Like i wouldnt be surprised that with a november update a new absolute abomination would be created, people will keep complaining about it or about any other stuff which they kept complaining for years and this will be never ending cycle. Plus game needs things like op is suggesting, we also need new living world season, new maps, more instanced content. Seeing absolutly nothing else but balance changes which leads nowhere is a waste of recources aswell dont you think?

I mean i do wanna see this game well balanced where skill would be = to the rewards u get and dps u do but idk.. its taking them to do it for a way too long at the point where saying "i would rather see them spending their recources somewhere else" and mentioning "how they need to fix games balance yet again" is just becoming a meme  because it never happens.

I'm not a fan of most adventures/mini games that currently exist.  I might play them for an easy daily, or did them once for achievements/unlocks, but seldom return.

But if Anet does add them it should be something unique to GW.  I don't see much point adding chess, dominoes, etc, when there are already tons of ways to play those games.  And my personal feeling for the various racing adventures is that if I want to play a racing game, I'll play a dedicated racing game which is 10x better than the in-game racing games (less lag, less buggy terrain, etc).

I liked Polymock from GW1 - it was something unique to GW (even if it took elements from other games).

I tried hosting minigames before, using whatever I could within GW2. It was a lot of work with few interested players, so I'm not sure that there's enough player interest for arenanet's investment. I eventually discontinued my minigames. There were too many problems with scheduling, funding, and effort vs. outcome. Particularly the small number of interested players.

Here's a link to my old minigame thread. It's from before the forums were revamped, so the formatting is all messed up.

I'd enjoy Tyria-themed minigames honestly, either directly in the game itself or available elsewhere with a link back to the main game. A few years back when I heard they were working on side projects, I hoped one of them might be a small mobile or web-based game like Tyrian Candy Crush or Polymock for those times when I can't get in game but still want my GW2 fix. Didn't happen, but hey, dreams.

Possible options:
- Candy Crush (That_Shaman has put together a very addictive version called Inventory Manager that uses item icons as tiles)
- Classic Chess or Checkers, possibly Charr-themed because strategy is their whole thing (Technically a thing, but despite being called Golem Chess it's more like Rock Em Sock Em Robots)
- Canthan Go (This is Go if you've never heard of it)
- 1,000 piece picture puzzles featuring various loading screen and concept art
- Polymock

Would Anet not need to get licenses for those games? I mean they are probably Trademarked. And although I like the idea, I would rather have anet spend their money on other things. That, and with the games we already have and the festivals isn't that enough?

Chess, dominos and roulette? Trademarked?

There are many instances with adventures and minigames, though my personal favorite is one that can be played in open world. Belcher's Bluff. I have the permanent novelty unlocked and all of the master traits. They were fun to get, like a side quest ~.^

Now, I just need a buddy who will play belcher's bluff with me on a whim. And who has all of the master traits unlocked, so it's an equal match.
