Thanks again for the additional Scourge nerfs balance team!  I can hear the boon balls everywhere cheering your name with fanfare!  (all five of them) I don't know how you do it but at the rate you are going, there is bound to be many GREAT changes coming to WvW and how its played! (if at all)  Keep up the absolutely SMASHUP job!

Source? All i remember (and stated in the preview notes) is that they will "have another look" at boons and boon removal in WvW, which probaly means even more boon spam and nerfs to boon strip, as that's the direction they have been heading for a while now, with zero signs of a turnaround.

Over the years, there are so many things for which they said they'll address that "soon" and that have not been address that either we don't have the same definition of "soon" or their statements are utter and complete tosh.
When they'll really do it, I'll give them credit for it, but not a Soon™️statement.

We need huge buffs on the damage and strips in all classes to bring back the balance in the game.  No nerf of any kind will affect the big blobs because their strength is in the quantity,  not in the quality of the builds.  Even if those big blobs were naked they will seem invincible if you are trying to kill them with skills that give 3k~4k per hit or removing 2 or 3 boons every 40s.  And it doesn't matter if they are using skills that give 15k per hit or wet noodles as weaponss, they will run over whatever comes their way by the volume of skills they spam.

Nerfing sustain only affects small groups that have to face those larger groups and buffing individual damage/strips is the only way to nerf large boon blobs.  THE ONLY WAY.  Even if they remove the boons and heals from the game it will only get things worse. Anet still hasn't realized that, they haven't even realized the problem that boom blobs are. In fact they created this problem on purpose.

A 60 man group will 1 shot you anyways. Buff damage is a way to indirect nerfing the sustain without penalizing the player individually.

There was a reason why CoR used to give 10k+ damage with 4s of cd, there was a reason.

do u even read? numbers will oneshot u anyways. 10 ppl putting dmg down, 1 guy walking in = 1 guy dead. got it now?

if u get unlucky, your ranger/thief/mecha builds get boonreduced also and cannot freecast for eternity without risk anymore

the point is, roamerbuilds have access to "oneshot" over 3 seconds still, while a single part of a bomb of largescale specs doesn't do anything remotely close

if u get spiked by a zerg its often your fault/your supports fault, depending who messed up

 

smaller groups need dmg and sustain to kill larger groups. groups are never on equal player quality anyways. we killed countless blobs with barely zergsize, which is 20-30 players difference, but this sh#t got harder to pull off every single update

 

which means, the balance is actually toxic and negative. and a big part till now was that scourges can effectively break the boon-walls with a coordinated bomb

Scourge has been the dominate Necro spec since its release.

We finally get devs doing stuff for balance after years of being ignored and people are mad "their" class got changed. Kitten Joke.

Scourge is still going to be one of the top boon strip classes. Get better or play a different class.

Shocking news, zerg builds aren't designed to do a whole lot on their own.

Also it is hardly a "oneshot" if it takes 3s to kill an (afk) player. But feel free to stack those op roaming builds instead of zerg builds, and see how well that goes ...

Just buffing damage won't solve the problem, you buff the individual, you buff the group even more, while your CoR will be doing 10k damage to the zerg, their CoR will be doing 20k to you and the other people that aren't on a zerg of their own.

And boon strip could be reworked or something, like people already mentioned, you just can't outstrip zergs, unless you are in a zerg too, maybe they could put a debuff on the player after a boon get corrupetd, and that person cannot receive that same boon again for a few seconds, or if that's too op, the debuff would weaken the next boon the person receives, either the effectiveness, or the duration, or the stacks.

I agree with their current balance philosophy of reducing amount of conditions and cleanses in the game.

Next they need to extend it to boon application and removal. Great start would be nerfing Concentration stat in WvW to attack both problematic cele and minstrel stats.

Do note that if there are less boons in the game, the remaining boons are more crucial, so in a way scourge gets buffed anytime they nerf  boons on another class. Since scrapper and firebrand got nerfed, scourge got indirectly buffed.

Also real chads play Reaper.
