Full/High pop WvW servers are linked to medium-low pop servers to help balance the player population out. (ie the two servers are treated as the same for matchups). Every two months they change which servers links based on the current active WvW player population changes on those servers.

Linking system has just degraded over time as links became populous enough to cause problems. Should they get rid of it? Yes. Will they? No, as this would mean admitting they were wrong.

We will see this time... Already being crushed in Tier 5. There were not even any queues during reset/relink except when EBG keep or HBL Garri were being hit.

When the server population is not there because "link balance", WvW is not motivating to spend time in at all, and since WvW is "the cornerstone of GW2" and the only real interesting aspect as well as true meta of GW2, when this is the case it just means you completely log out of the game and do something else with your precious life.

So yeah, GG Anet with another well balanced relink where inactive alt accounts and reset bots farming a wooden chest never to be seen for the remainder of the week are counted.

OHHH, now Anet sees that pairing two low level servers for 8 weeks wasn't working. I guess they finally noticed how players on those servers were leaving in large numbers. The lockboxes that give very few rewards and the 8 gold for the weekly just weren't enough to keep people playing. When you go into WvW for a daily and see two tags, then go into open world to do a daily and see 7 tags and more players than I normally see any time of day in WvW, it's time to find something else to do.

Their main commanders are probably just tanking for guildtransfers. They were stable around tier 3 before relinkings.

Anyways, I understand it is stupid for linked servers to always be open for transfers, and the outnumbered solo servers be closed for transfers. But what can you do: the system is stupid.

How long has the person who does these links worked at Arenanet?

We all know they are manually generated even when the algorithm says 'do this' they still put full servers with a link against two 'high' servers.

WvW is a great hobby, but many of us are tired of Anet playing dumb about the numbers and laughing as servers are playing against impossible numbers OR no one.

What makes the machine stupid, it's just the players. So your opinion makes it much better if: a lot of stupid players. Anet has nothing to do with this. They're just players who want to manipulate the mechanics. They don't want to play what Anet proposes. Why could they lose? Too complicated if you don't have twice as many numbers? I don't know. In fact a large number of players use alt or transfer to pack etc etc.
