Dahkeus.8243 Posted August 17, 2021 Share Posted August 17, 2021 Just a thought here, but the offhand sword for Willbender seems like a bit of a lackluster weapon for the elite spec. After all, while it is good by itself, one of its major benefits is mobility, which is largely redundant with the virtues and potentially any of the new utilities (not to mention a mainhand sword). Outside of that, you get damage, which is nice, but is something you can get on other offhands along with utilities such as boons/condi cleanse/blocks. And that's assuming that you still run a mainhand weapon instead of a 2h weapon like GS or hammer. If Willbender didn't already have access to so many other movement abilities, Sw/Sw would look like a great combo to use, but as it is...it just feels like potentially one of the weaker combos for an elite spec that already plays heavily onto mobility without necessarily doing as much on the straight damage/utility side. 1 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ragnarox.9601 Posted August 17, 2021 Share Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) I will use gs sw/sw for testing, I hate that skill 3 for sword isnt changed if paired with offhand sword (revenant skill 3 is nice for new skill 3 wb sword), and no quickness skill at all, we get passive 25% movement and we fart swiftness, that's an awful thing. There should be some way of quickness cause this is mobility fast class. It should feel like - get into the fight do quick dmg, get out. Righteous sprint should give us quickness not swiftness. Well if you want quickness then there the shout elite you can use. Its not like the new elite is any good anyways. We can't know that yet, since we haven't been able to actually test it. At least to me, reading the tooltip and watching the short performance preview on the livestream isn't enough to decide. May as well take hammer and roleplay as what radiant once was before anet nuked core guard. quaniesan.8497 Posted August 19, 2021 Share Posted August 19, 2021 Absolutely not. While the aesthetic is kinda cool, but sword offhand is garbage 100%, sword 4 is basically a suicide button. Sword 5 is meh. you'd do well with shield or focus or torch , as always. Not trash Anet, but these things need complete rework down to square one. These concepts of sword 4 and 5 wont sell. Not sure what they were thinking but I really hope OH sword doesn't become like DH LB where nobody uses it in instanced endgame PvE because its inferior to other options... oscuro.9720 Posted August 21, 2021 Share Posted August 21, 2021 I would almost certainly use sword frequently if it is buffed. It’s fun to use. Currently sword 4 needs a massive amount of damage added onto it, and needs a more reliable way to land it.
