I think all mounts should be mountable in combat. I don't see why this should be exclusive to the skyscale.

The solution is simple. Just give a legendary relic to everyone who made 7 legendary runes, and for the rest just make it obtainable by completing all meta achievements in SotO. Sure, that'd devalue exotic and ascended relics, but at this point it's the best they can do to appease most people.

The upcoming expansion will require lots of flying, and it's be unreasonable to ask new and/or returning players to spend gems and then several weeks to grind the skyscale the old way just to be able to play the expansion with the veterans. This is pretty much the best they could've done. New players get the skyscale more easily while veteran players get powerful enhanced masteries for maxing the new skyscale while already having done it the old way.

Twitch views are in no way a measure of success, otherwise only WoW is successful and every other MMO is dead, which of course is objectively false.

Yes, HoT is a significant difficulty spike from the core game. It used to be even harder though, I think pocket raptors killed more players than any other mob in the game. Pesky little things...

But now we'll be able to choose the stat combo we want from runes and the bonus we want from relics. So this is objectively a big improvement for everyone. We get far more freedom in customizing our builds if we can choose the stats and the bonuses separately. All they need to do is make relics easily accessible and add a legendary relic.

We have enough mounts. What they should focus on is upgrading all mounts over time, like they're doing with the skyscale and to an extent with the gryphon.

I'd say that enabling elite spec weapons for all specs is pretty big. The amount of ability combos and builds this will enable is staggering. They'll probably give new elite specs or professions in the next expansion.

It only failed because they rushed Champions though. The episodes before that were pretty good, and Grothmar, Bjora and Drizzlewood are still quite popular.

Fair enough. I misunderstood. Still, we do get nice benefits from completing both tracks, so it'll still be worth having gotten the skyscale in LS4.

The purpose of relics is to give us more ways to customise our characters, and free up more combinations. Also, we'll be able to get relics from pretty much anywhere. There's nothing wrong with giving us more options in my opinion. I do hope they'll also give us a legendary relic to work towards as well, and that it'll be easy to make.

While I'd like to see new elite specs, we still have a ridiculous number of specs in the game at the moment. We have 36 specs, if we count the core specs. That's just 3 specs less than WoW has right now. Giving us the option to use elite spec weapons on any spec is quite huge, and opens up a *lot* of new playstyles and new ways to play each spec, so I find it to be a fair trade-off for not getting any new elite specs in this expansion. The maps are likely going to be good. Yes, there will be fewer of them, but if they're packed with fun content, meta events, memorable bosses and lucrative loot, then that's also a good trade-off. Raids were always unpopular content that is played by a vast minority of the player base, so strikes make more sense to make as wasting resources on content most players don't care about is stupid. Also, this monetary strategy will benefit new and returning players the most, as they won't have to pay for DLC content anymore since it'll be included in the expansions. Relics are also a new thing, and are there to give people more options to customise their characters. Hopefully they'll also release a legendary relic as well. Skyscale upgrades are also good, since it's clear that the new maps will likely not be on the ground, so we will get new ways to travel and explore. We're also getting a whole new system of doing dailies/weeklies for fun rewards and collectibles. And on top of it all, each spec gets a whole new weapon, though I admit I'm personally not really excited about this. I'd say all of this is pretty good for the 25€ price tag.

As far as I know, we get demonic skyscale skin for maxing out both the old and the new mastery track, and we get upgraded abilities. Seems perfectly fair to me.

I'll reserve judgement until they've showcased the upcoming zones and content to us. It's hard for me to make conclusions based on incomplete info. I don't think we're getting a bad deal here, 25€ is perfectly reasonable for what we're getting. It's still one of the cheapest pricing for the expansion compared to other big MMOs like ESO, WoW and FF14. Of course, it could end up being disappointing, but I'm hopeful that after Gyala Delve they've learned what doesn't work and what needs to be improved in order to make the content more fun.

Eh, I actually use raptor the most. I like the skyscale too, but raptor run and jump are great for longer travels and/or travel in hubs.

It's too early to say what'll happen. I'm sure they're aware of this situation, so I hope they'll give us some info soon.

It's too early to tell. Personally, I think the new expansion is looking good so far, at least the stuff we were shown. I look forward to the official streams and showcases. 🙂

I enjoyed all three expansions, but I have to vote HoT as the best one for me, as the map design and meta events are incredibly fun, well-done and unique.

Hopefully we'll get an announcement soon. I don't expect the expansion to be coming before autumn, but hopefully it'll be in September rather than October or November. The last two episodes unfortunately lack the juice to keep people occupied for long.

I'd say this chair is quite thematic for the summer season. I like it!
